Thanks, I was surprised, kept waiting and waiting for the nerves to kick in but it never happened

Sooo, today was the first day of my liquid diet, I'm only required to do 2 days clear liquids pre-op. Day 1 wasn't too bad, I am pretty hungry, but nothing I can't handle. Surgery is on Wednesday. I thought it felt like it sunk in a week or so ago, but now it doesn't feel real again, lol I don't know, just ranting!

That's a good way to word it, head hunger, I'm dealing with that now, day 2 of clear liquids, surgery is tomorrow at 4 so that means nothing to drink or eat all day, but I'm looking forward to 2 weeks from now! Glad you're doing well!

Yes we have come this far! I was pretty irritable and low energy today, but tomorrow is the day. I'm not nervous yet, which is weird. I'm just looking ahead to day 15 when I can have soft foods lol We are gonna do this! Just gotta keep my mind clear and focused, Good luck to you, we're in this together

Just curious anyone else getting surgery done at UCLA? I'm one week out and I still can't believe the day is almost here!!

Hey may sleevers! I just got a call from my Dr office and my insurance approved surgery and on top of it they had a cancelation so they moved me up a week! I felt super prepared for my original date but now it's May 20th, I'm stoked it is earlier just kinda throws off your "planning" but as the saying goes people plan, God laughs! Anyone else on May 20? Shit just real!! lol ????

Am so grateful! My insurance covers 100% with a $250 copay just for the hospital stay.

Hi All! I've noticed most of you say you're on liquid diets for 2 weeks prior to surgery. My surgeon, dietician and head of the program want me doing Clear liquids only for the 2 days prior to surgery. I am on a lower calorie diet now and have been changing what I eat quite a bit and have lost 10 lbs so far, of course I'm going to follow what my Dr. Says, but just curious is the 2 week liquid diet something the surgeon or dietician or insurance requires? I'm having mine done at UCLA so I'm very confident in my surgeon, just curious! Thanks
