    Unflavored protein powder

I was asking about Genepro on here. Is there any taste? Does it mix well? I have a few varieties of syntrax powders and they just don't seem to get smooth, no matter what temp I use. Right now I am using premier protein ready to drink shakes. I don't do so well with protein and need/want something that completely disappears(or as much as possible). Thanks!
  2. The world according to eggface. I have seen others post about it on here so I looked it up online(typed it just like that⬆)️. There are a ton of recipes she offers for protein. It really helped me out. There's one that I love that tastes VERY similar to a shamrock shake from McDonald's, which I used to devour pre-op when it came back every year. Also, if you have Pinterest, search protein shakes. There are a lot of recipes, in fact, a bunch of them are hers. Good luck, I know I couldn't stand the protein, tried several and the consistency/taste made me gag and I'd end up throwing 95% of it out. Mixing it up really helped.
  3. Congrats, you look wonderful. I can't wait to have success like yours!
  4. I am newly sleeved(12/08/15) and am still working on getting protein through food alone. I have tried premier protein ready to drink shakes, which I really like, and isopure, which I found less than desirable (maybe the flavors I tried?). My question is have any of you tried Genepro? I read that it can be mixed into anything without the chunky, grainy texture of some powders. It is also supposed to be flavorless. Anyone use or have tried it? Opinions? Thank you!!

    Clothes

I'm still early out(sleeved 12/08/15) and am down 20.6 pounds. I fortunately still have clothes leading up to my biggest size so have a few items to fall back on but have seen some posts like this on here before and a lot of people say "thrift shops". I would have to agree. I understand it's not ideal but if you'll be moving through sizes fairly quickly, it's a cost effective way to do things. Also, clearance racks can be your friend too. Congrats on the loss! Ps, I LOVE leggings and tunics(and yoga pants, etc.)!!!!!

    Anyone else nervous?

I was having some issues with vomiting, but have just been limiting my foods to a few selections and playing with different seasonings/spices to change up flavors. I am doing much better, am able to get all of my fluids in, and working on protein. My surgeon is happy with where I'm at and says everyone moves forward at their own pace, as long as I'm progressing. I have a lot of energy already and am not sore at all. The best change: I am off of cholesterol meds, 2 blood pressure meds, and on less than half of the insulin as before the surgery(I'm a type-1 diabetic on an insulin pump, I will never be off of insulin completely)!!! That is all within 3 weeks. Not to mention I'm down 20.6 pounds. Even with the vomiting(which I believe was a combo of eating certain foods too soon and eating at too fast a pace), I don't regret it for a second! I know it's scary and it's totally acceptable to feel that way, but you have a TON of support on this site and there will always be someone to talk to. I don't know how I would've gotten through without everyone's support/advice on here!!

What can I do with...cottage cheese?

Babbs, how soon after surgery did you start eating tomato? I love tomatoes and surgeon said soft veggies are okay, just curious.
  9. I am newly sleeved so can't comment on personal experience but one of my co-workers is a Rodan & Fields consultant and sells the product to many people. I have to say, the ones I know and have known for a while look really good. The products they are using really are making a difference, not to mention she is an older woman and her skin looks great. It has definitely caught my attention!
  10. Ps, I have also eaten the cream portion(no chunks) from cream of cauliflower soup(it was delicious and I had zero issues with it). I actually ordered a quart and ate it over several meals because it felt so good to have something in my belly.
  11. I've tried chicken, turkey, fish including cod and tuna, a veggie burger(a tiny slice, not the whole patty), etc. My surgeon and NUT are big on the whole "get your protein from "real" foods, not shakes, but at this rate, I don't know what choices I have. I am definitely not able to eat as much as what's on the "plan". I guess I'm just kind of behind. I just wish there was something I could eat that gives me some protein and doesn't come right back up.
  12. Congrats! You look wonderful! I'm only 3 weeks out(today!) and pics like this are sooo inspiring. I hope and pray to have this kind of success.????
  13. I was sleeved 12/08/15. I have the same noises. If I eat too fast, the sounds that come from my throat area are extremely loud and embarrassing. I agree that slowing down helps. Also, I'll get hiccups if I eat to fast. It's all worth it though:-)

    December 9th!

I'm 12/08/15. Healing well, surgeon made 6 incisions, only large one on right side where stomach removed had internal sutures. I am getting in water and close to protein, although my new tummy is VERY picky. I cannot do eggs right now, they come right back up, puréed turkey and tuna are working the best right now. Fairlife nonfat milk is my savior right now.

    6 month checkup (good/bad news)

I'm curious about that as well. Did you have any symptoms/does it bother you?

    Purees?

I was puréed for lunch day after surgery for two weeks(I'm only 12 days out, follow-up tomorrow), then two weeks soft foods, then "regular" foods...of course, only get bumped to next stage if tolerating current stage.
  17. I am 10 days post-op(VSG 12/08/15). I have been vomiting pretty much everything I've eaten for the past 4 days. I've called the surgeon's office and they said to focus on "staying hydrated". I am tolerating fluids alright, just having issues with foods. I've tried several different things, going through just about all the foods in my program binder for puréed stage. The ONLY thing my new tummy has tolerated so far(that I haven't thrown back up) is sliced cheese. I know it wasn't on my program until the 3rd stage(so technically I cheated), but after vomiting soooo much, my tummy needed something. Also, the diarrhea(sorry, TMI!). I get it, I'm hardly keeping anything solid down, but holy cow. Did anyone else have these issues? How did you handle them? Does anything help?

    Vomiting...

Yes, I have been drinking Fairlife nonfat milk everyday:-)

    Vomiting...

I am tolerating fluids okay(Water, Vitamin water zero, g2, etc.)...getting my 64 ounces in everyday. My plan doesn't have protein shakes/supplements in it; the surgeon wants all protein to come from "real" foods. I was Clear Liquids only first day of surgery, puréed the second day(while still in hospital) through 2 weeks, soft/mushees 2-4 weeks, then slowly introduce solids if soft foods tolerated. I am pureeing the heck out of everything, but my new tummy seems to be pissed about everything. On the bright side, I'm down 16 pounds since day of surgery(10 days ago).
  20. I had an IUD(mirena) for 5 years, had it replaced and the second one became expelled. I am now on birth control pills. I could not take a regular combo pill because I am diabetic and had high blood pressure. I am currently taking a progesterone-only pill, called LYZA(norethindrone), which removes a lot of side effects caused by regular(estrogen) birth control pills. I haven't had any issues or side effects. Just a thought that you could possibly check into. Good luck!

    Eating

I was sleeved 12/08/15. If I eat more than a few bites of my puréed food, I vomit...ALOT. I can eat a whole sf jello, a few slices of cheese, and a few select other items(I "cheated" with the cheese, as it's not on this stage but after vomiting so much, I needed something in my tummy). I called and spoke to my surgeons office and they said just eat what you can and focus on fluids.
  22. I got sleeved Tuesday, December 8th, 2015. It is Thursday night and still in the hospital because I'm having a hard time with fluids. The first night in, I threw up 5 times and continued through today. I am now eating(very tiny bites of puréed, but still nowhere near my 64ounces. I knew it was going to be hard, but this is crazy. I am up walking frequently(more up than down) and doing everything I can. I'm trying to drink but I feel like I have a balloon full of water in my abdomen...
  23. Ughhh, I was sleeved 12/08/15. I was having a rough time with fluids and protein but the past few days was getting better. Yesterday, I threw up...ALOT. I tried to just concentrate on staying hydrated and thought my new tummy just didn't like something I ate and figured I try again tomorrow(which is now today). I did good with fluids and breakfast and now, shortly after lunch, vomit-city! I called my surgeon immediately and they said to skip dinner and focus on fluids, it is most likely something I ate not agreeing. I'm starting to think my new tummy only likes Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and sugar-free Popsicles. Anyone else have issues like this? It sucks. Although, I have lost 14 pounds in 8 days(went to another doc appointment today).
