My surgery is May 26 and this past Tues, 19th i started 7 day cabbage soup diet and everyday is something different. Day 1 is soup and fruit day 2 is soup and vegt. day 3 is soup fruit and veg day 4 is soup banannas- skim milk day 5 is soup , 20oz beef and 1 can of tomatoes day 6 is soup and vegt and day 7 is soup 1 cup of brown rice and unsweetened juice (apple or cranberry) I have to do atleast 1 cup of the cabbage soup and thats honestly all i can stand..... This may not look bad but im nauseated and have the worst headache.......PLEase somebody tell me this is worth it..... Im seriously wanting to give up and say forget it.. but i want this sooooooooo bad I cant keep letting food control me... I honestly cant wait till beef day..........hoping that will keep my spirits up....

I have my surgery scheduled for RNY on 5/26/15 and although I started this journey wanting to do the sleeve I did change my mind after talking to some nurses at the doct. office..... the thing that got to me was when she said alot of people that do the sleeve come back in and regret it and wish they would of just done the RNY to begin with. Ive read others that feel this same way... but now I wondering am I making the best decision for myself... I just want to do this right ... anyone change there surgery during the pre-op?

You are not alone.. my RNY is 5/26...and im already a nervous wreck,,, but im so excited....We will be fine!!! This is a great gift we are being given

Thanks everyone for the response! I have done alot of soul searching and I am definetely going with the RNY... i feel this is best for me and my future!!! On the count down.... 8 days left till a new me! 5/26/15

So im going in on May 26th for RNY and have been doing alot of research... and all of a sudden i have this fear about blood clots....anyone have any problems?? Should i be so worried? Ive had to c-sections and remember they put those boots on my legs to help with the issue...

Hey everyone.. I just got my surgery date for May 26th and I have to say Im super nervous and excited. My question is how did others tell their children that you would be away from home for 2 nights? My girl is 8 and my boy is 3 ... they both cling to me at bedtime so im really worried how this will impact them. I know its only 2 days but as a mom, they are my main concern! A nurse told me i shoudl tell my 8yr old that momma is going to the hospital to get help with my weight??? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks

My pre-op diet is for only 7 days prior to surgery date..... and its mainly a cabbage Soup diet..have to drink aleast one cup a day of that.... and everyday is a different way to eat... an example is day 4 i can have the soup, bananas and skim milk.......seems weird after reading everyone elses preop diet....
