Long Term VSG Sleevers?
tnkrrbl replied to nancytrevino's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi Diana, I'm in Peoria and just recently started my research....there are so many DRs and everyone is so happy about their selection, How does on choose, A low price is nice but I'm 61 and wonder if the rest of me is ready for what my mind is determined to do. My insurance does NOT do weight loss... They would rather pay for shots to my knees ,sleep apnea and BP medications. I'm on FB you can search for Tender2u. Diana I hear you - there were so many. A friend said - When it's right you'll know it. Here are some of the reasons I like this DR> 1) Price- but that's not the end all. 2) deposit is FULLY REFUNDABLE up until 1 week prior to surgery 3) This is a new surgery center with some experienced surgeons 4) I read DR Maytorena has been a trauma DR for the Red Cross-- don't remember where I read that. 5) I like a recovery house instead of a hospital. Hospitals tend to have sick people, bad germs.... recovery center has a nurse on site. 6) they use Johnson & Johnson titanium staples - told me 3 - 4 rows. 7) This dr has no reported incidents of patience having complications or going to hospital 8) I asked for the DR to call and he did same day. He Spoke English well ENOUGH -
May Sleevers...where are you?

I'm May 18th also.... -
I'm 5'2" 188 BMI 33 -- pretty done being a 33 BMI for my whole life -- killer diets don't work to keep it off, I'm not a huge eater, I don't like veggies, I love meat and cheese... regular diets you won't loose eating that Protein. I can also go all day -(BAD FOR ME) without eating, then I eat a salad for dinner, no weight loss. So it seems that a lifestyle change for a non-eater is a good thing. WHY AM I FAT.. hmmm when I eat I eat too much. So is it worth the $100/pound? as I'll probably lose 40 -50 pounds

Low BMI UNDER 200# to start
tnkrrbl replied to tnkrrbl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree -- I haven't done it all these years... The only time I ever did this drastic of a diet I did HCG for 3 weeks. I lost 20 pounds, but whoops all went back on but 5 pounds. I couldn't live on that for ever. I did go to the gym for almost 4 months - I hate to exercise, not a single pound lost -- not one... just pissed me off and I gave up. I was deligent with that. SO NOW WHAT - I need to "fish or cut bait" . -

Thank you. How long ago did you have surgery and what kind did you do? Did you ever think 20 pounds I could have done this without such drastic measures? -
Anyone have Kaiser and have trouble with primary physician post surgery. I'm self pay. Kaiser won't do surgery on me unless I gain 30 pounds. Even then who knows. Thx
-
@@NorCalRN That's me about 65 with no other issues except horrible knees. Because you're one of the few who had a lower amount to lose do you regret doing the surgery? I'm 56 and worried it won't make much difference since I'm old. I'll go find your post. Thanks for speaking up.

I'm not getting much in response from them. My guess is Ruben does it all and he can't handle it. Took 24 hours to get a response. Then no follow up email as promised. I want this scheduled 5/19 so I need to get on it -

There are other Doctors that advertise on BariatricPal, so now I'm confused. Is BariatricPal a site for the doctors you represent or for any of the doctors that are advertising on this site? @davidlopez -

I just spoke to another dr's office. You arrive day of surgery, spend night in hospital, night 2 at recovery place, day 3 your go home... that's QUICK, but is it good? -

scary stuff being posted here. My question how do you verify - one angry patient or employee, can start an online media frenzy. I'm not defending, just wondering... how you really know. I'm guessing people with bad experiences no matter the doctor do not post here. -
I hear you - and I'm just starting too... someone said -- if you could lose that 90 on your own you would have.... so perhaps this is the TOOL you need.
