Hang in there and tell yourself you can the fight against weight gain. You probably need to go back to the prep diet for a week or two and keep a food journal and even see a dietician. Don't give up you did not go through hell and back for nothing you can do it. Best of luck

I've never liked breakfast and never will but these days I have it in order to exercise. Breakfast now is sometimes yogurt sometimes a handful of nuts and sometimes a can of tuna.

Help! - Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program.
AussieSam replied to Alkalinetrio262's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
if refused surgery by insurance don't give up if you really want the surgery bad. Even if you can find a way to finance it don't give up as it will change your life forever. I redrew from my mortgage to finance mine as I had no insurance and I have no regrets. -
I personally don't think snack bags are good as they might lead you to eat more what I will do instead is boil some eggs and have one when I feel like snacking it's amazing how one egg fills you up.

I agree with Kate try and eat yogurt and almonds instead of shakes as these will give you that full feeling.

Unfortunately as with all weight loss procedures if you don't learn proper eating habits over time you will regain most of the weight back. My good friend who I grew up with had the sleeve done 6 years ago and now he has gone back to original starting weight after losing 80 percent of his excess weight. I tell him it's not the sleeve but you he still eats the wrong things drinks a lot of liquid calories and eats a big bowl of ice cream ever night.

It looks like you might be overworking your body have a rest day here and there and remember losing weight is not a race but a lifelong journey.

I have replaced my food addiction with shisha smoking but what can I do I hate shopping.

I'm not losing any weight and trying so hard!
AussieSam replied to MyNewBeginning's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Who cares what the number on the scale says its just a number and over time as long as the motivation is there you will keep losing weight. As they say with love you can't hurry it same with long term weight loss you might have to wait as it does not come easy ops now I'm sounding like a song. -
Feeling like I am taking the easy way out :-/
AussieSam replied to Butterfly512's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't see why people might say to a person you cheated you took the easy way I say to them it's my life and not yours and it's not your business what I do and how I do it. They think the surgery makes you loose the weight even if your stuffing your face in front of the Tv but they are so wrong you need to work hard to loose weight. -
What I do now to get out of the night snacking habit in front of the TV is cut up fresh veggies put them in a bowl and for a month ate them everyday after that they bored me and stopped eating at night altogether when I feel like eating at night I remember the veggies and then I no longer feel like it.

I know this feeling and what I do to kill the craving is eat 7 almonds and then drink a few cups of water and the craving disappears.
-
I did Atkins about ten years ago and lost 80 pounds in ten months but stopped it and gained 100 in 5 months.
-
I agree that it's just not about the number on the scale but all the great health benefits that come from the surgery.
-
We all have to remember it's not a race to see who losses quickest, it's a life long journey and for every pound lost we should celebrate it
-
It sounds like me I been through it before I think what made me lose it then put most of it back on was the fact that my head was still on yo yo diet mode. I had to educate my mind and body that no longer will I yo yo. And change my lifestyle for good. Use the great tool that we have in the band and understand its a life long journey.

Six month stall....gaaaaaaaaahhhh
AussieSam replied to desertpixie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It happened to me a few times and to overcome the stall what I'll do is buy some detox tea from the supermarket and drink it for a week the suddenly the stall goes away. -
I've had the band for almost six years almost and I would never convert to the sleeve I just keep learning new ways it can help. I believe the band and the sleeve do the same thing they restrict your ability to eat a lot. I did in the past consider turning to the sleeve but realised I needed to fix my head for any real success. Good luck on whatever you chose.
