I truly believe exercise if done well is much more powerful and effective then what people think. It firstly suppresses your appetite and secondly it keeps you on track with your eating and thirdly it speeds up your metabolism. So I believe it's much more then just making you healthy.

How is the attention?

At 440 she felt secure because in her mind there wasn't any competition. As you lose weight, I bet your confidence is returning and that can make a man attractive as well. She may think you will leave her for a younger, hotter woman. Weight loss just doesn't affect you, it affects everyone around you because you change, not just your weight. ☺ Yes totally agree with you -
If I get to goal weight I'll shout you all a pizza and ice cream.

I know this sounds strange but my wife preferred more when I was 440 pounds. She tells me she felt more secure and now I dropped a lot she seems to get worried a bit. -
I think you might have a lot of salt in your diet and lots of salt causes water retention if so minimise your salt intake as much as you can and you may see about a 6 to 7 lb difference.

If you think that's bad one day when I was young I was invited over to dinner by a relative it was an all you can eat buffet I filled up my plate ten times I was full when I went home suddenly my family ordered my favourite pizza so I went and vomited just so I can eat pizza. -
Sharing or not sharing
AussieSam replied to thenewlisa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its funny because in an indirect way telling people is actually a great motivation and the way surgery helps with weight loss telling people helps keeping the weight off as you know if you ever did put the weight back on you will be critised by the ones you told. -

I think you need to speak to your doctor and get them to take a look inside. -

I think a lot of doctors these days are doing wls and not following all the rules regarding bmi -
Where was that thread that dealt with the issue it was about people complaining about losing a great amount of weight fast. I think losing too fast is a recipe for disaster as the chances of regain in the future would be very high. Taking it slow adapting good eating habits and exercise are the key to long term success.

Are stalls real or do we just make excuses ?
AussieSam replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well said Alex This concept is very similar to when people say I am fat because of my genetics ignoring the fact that consume 5000 calories a day and don't blame their eating habits. My stalls in the past have been my fault I had extra calories creep in while I'll under estimate my total calories reduce exercise and wonder why I am stalling. -

The risk of metabolic syndrome decreases when weight loss occurs if exercise is done properly and calories in is less the calaries expended fat loss should occur. -

Whenever there is a calorie deficit then fat loss occurs let's take for example the biggest loser show there is rarely a stall and if a contestant hasn't lost weight for that week then most likely they over ate. -

Well done b52 you mastered the technique of avoiding a stall which what this thread is talking about if you get into fats stores you must lose weight as the body is burning off its fat. -

If the body adjusts to needing 1200 calories a day and you burn 3000 calories a day the law of physics still should kick in and weight loss is still a must. It would be great if our body worked according to the laws of physics but they don't operate that way they operate under the law of survival. That is the most supreme rule of the human body such as it is. Even though we with our will force it into extreme situations. If you think about it we forced our body to adapt to being over weight and finding a place to put all the extra stuff we gave it. Now we are forcing it to adapt again on much much less in take. If we think of evolution of the human body, it amazes me how much we are able to adapt to and still survive. So yeah I think stalls are real after all it takes a minute for the mind and body to connect on what the objective is. It's not as simple as inserting a key into the ignition and off you go. There are many moving parts that all must be properly aligned calibrated and balanced and that's just for a car Evolution is a theory and always will be physics is not when the body runs out of energy from food it uses fat stores so if fat stores are used why shouldn't the weight come down ? -

What about if these people walked two hours a day and burned 700 calories extra would they still stall ? -

I once worked in a donut shop and one day the boss told me to throw out a tray of about 20 donuts as they didn't sell for a few days. I took them round the back and started eating them when the boss came in there was about 4 left he saw me while I pretended I was throwing them in the bin he said why are you throwing them away one by one I just smiled. -

Oatmeal is good but small portion with skim milk does the job.

I think in my situation it has made me sharper, fitter, and the best thing of all I am now able to run around with my kids.

Easy explanation 27 pounds in ten days mostly water due to dehydration water gets drank more in the next few weeks continue losing fat but getting rehydrated so that equals scale not moving your doing well keep it up.
