Kim, I hope you feel better soon!

I "Joined the Band" 6-5-06
Mrs Sabre replied to Lucky2behome's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations Lucky! We have the same bandiversary; I too was banded on June 5th. -
Kim, you mentioned Aug. for a pool party; the only Saturday I can't make it in August is the 26th. I have a family reunion in WV.
-
Kathy & Kim, God bless you both! That doesn't sound like fun. Dianne, I miss you too! Awesome picture! Angie, where are you? We love you lady; hang in there! Jennifer, I'm proud of you too! Go for it! Stacy, come back; we like you! OK, where is everyone else? Court, Starr, Wavy, Diane Mast, Oreilly, Vericks, Denika? Who am I missing?
-
Either date works for me too! Count me in.

Outside of our lunch on Saturday, I spent all weekend preparing for vacation Bible school, which starts this evening, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. M-F this week. Two of us will split teaching and craft duties for a room full of 1st & 2nd grade children. Based upon last year, it's a lot of fun; but we'll all be worn out by the end of the week ... especially after working an 8 hour day beforehand! John's 101 year old grandma died yesterday afternoon. She was at peace and ready to go home, but we still grieve for our loss. We'll be taking off to Laurinburg, NC sometime later this week for services. His Dad and Mom are basket cases, as I am sure I'll be when my parents pass. Please pray for peace and grace for John's family during this sad time.

OK ladies, do any of you wear a size 16? (Some may be 18s?) My Mom loaded me up with a ton of slacks two weeks ago, some shirts. She's 5'4"; so some may be a little shorter in length than others. They're all on hangers too! :clap2: Please remind me to pop open the trunk of my car after lunch tomorrow and let you all take a good look.

OK folks, I'm 9 days post-op and doing great! A little backgroud, I had a second series of spinal injections yesterday. They require that you come fasting, and I have them under sedation. I went home and straight to bed. John and I went to Chili's for dinner, the first and only meal I ate yesterday. I had a bowl of their Southwestern Vegetable Soup. I ate it very slow, chewed the veggies really really well, and could only finish about 1/3. I'm still on liquids, and just as Melissa can't get away with anything without her girls ratting on her, John is my watch dog. He fussed at me cause this wasn't strictly liquid. So for the record, was that really "cheating"?

That's OK Kim, you don't have to tell; I'll fess up when I see Dr. V tomorrow. I'm actually excited to see him. OK did that come out right? What I meant is I'm feeling great, and my incisions look awesome! Aah yes, egg drop soup ... manna from heaven while on liquids!
-
Oh Angie, I am so sorry! Right now I think I have enough will power for both of us! You're 1/2 way there, and have absolutely no reason to be ashamed. Pick up the pieces and take one day at a time. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow isn't here yet. We love you! You can do this! I'm too new to preach on how to eat, but have you tried journaling? I started before I went on liquids. I don't just write down everything I eat, but how I'm feeling. If you write when you're feeling emotional, maybe you'll think twice before eating? If you write down everything you eat, maybe you'll make better food choices? I may not have the answers, but I can listen if you want to talk. Please don't hesitate to call me.
-
Congratulations! I can't wait to get to -85 too! I am so happy for you, and proud to call you my friend! Way to go!
-
Thanks for all the input folks! Until last night, I had complied 100%. I promise I won't chew again until the doctor releases me to do so. I waited way too long for my band, and I have worked too hard so far to jeopardize my success or my health!
-
Congratulations again Angie! I don't remember reading this thread .... much less responding to it! ROFLMAO! Can I blame the good hospital drugs?
-
I'm so excited! I can't wait!

I'm back at work today. I had 190 e-mails waiting for me! I'm still doing great! I am going to have a second series of spinal injections tomorrow. If they are as effective as the first, they should take care of the rest of my pain. By time they wear off, I hope to be down enough that the pain will not recur. Outside of some bruising, my incisions look awesome! No stitches or staples here; so they must have glued me close. Kim, I'll get to see you on Friday for my post-op
-
I hate to wish my life away, but I can't wait to see everyone next weekend for lunch! :hungry: I am doing great! Maybe I have a high pain tolerance, but I cannot believe how easy this has been! :clap2: The weight loss with the liquid diet has been phenomenal too! As for things I miss, I look forward to being able to take a long hot bubble bath. I look forward to spending time in the pool. I also look forward to riding my motorcycle! Jill, I'm sorry I didn't answer your questions sooner. I didn't bother with STD cause I have more PTO than I'll likely use this year. You also asked how long I was at the hospital? I got there at 8 a.m., went into surgery around 9:15 a.m., and went home around 2-2:30 p.m.

I cannot get over how great I feel! The bloat is starting to come down, and my weight with it. I'm actually starting to feel hungry :hungry: again, and can feel my band and port! :clap2: I'm so excited about the future with my band; for the first time in a very long time I truly believe I will be healthy again. I want to say Thank You to all of my LBT friends and my family for the awesome support you've given me during this journey! It's been a long time coming, and without you I might have given up the fight!
-
OK, you'll all think I'm nuts, but I'm ready to go back to work. If I'm going to sit on my butt, I might as well get paid for it and not use my PTO. I continue to do great, and have no complaints! I'm excited about the future, and making my new found friend work for me!
-
Hey folks, when does the belly bloating go down? I'm doing great, but look like I'm 5 months pregnant! Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever!
-
I'm still really bloated, but I'm feeling good! Localized tenderness is the only pain I have. My incisions are starting to itch, a good sign of healing. I went out for a little while this afernoon, and did fine. I'm well on my way to recovery.
-
Jill, you're next! I continue to do really well. I'm still very bloated. I don't know how much of this is swelling or surgical gas? Regardless, I'm feeling good!
-
Day 2 post-op, and so far it continues to be a cake walk! I feel remarkably well. Shoot, I've had menstrual cramps that were worse than this ... but then again, I am taking some good pain meds.
-
God bless and good luck Jennifer! I'm thinking of you!
-
Thanks Jennifer! I'm going great! I have the normal tummy gas, and some localized incision tenderness, but otherwise am doing great!
-
Kim, I'll try not to, but can't promise anything. I'm happy & surprised how good I feel; maybe the drugs just haven't worn off yet?
