Now Kathy, don't go stealing my Plan B
-
Hi Everyone, I have my endoscopy tomorrow morning. It feels like I've been waiting for it forever, and it's finally here. My packet hasn't gone to the insurance yet, and as I get to know Dr. Kuwada and his staff better; I don't think he'll send it until the endo results get back. Although I hate the wait, this is not a bad thing because the results should document another co-morbidity (GERD) to help support my request for surgery. I'm in the same division as Kim. I feel guilty; I was tagged for placement in another business unit months ago. The purchasing entity won't even know I exist. I'm not sure when I'll start my new job, but I already know the folks I'll work with because they used to be part of my current division. Saturday, I had my hair wacked off real short and burgundy low lights put in it. My hair is really thick, and I've been growing it for quite a while. My husband kept harrassing me about getting it trimmed and thinned. I went a big step beyond trimmed, and have a "boy cut". It actually looks good, but it's too short for his taste.

PMS & Hersey's KISSES!Support pls!!!!
Mrs Sabre replied to sunsett's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1. Take deep breathes! 2. Put down the Kisses and step away from the bag. 3. Give them to a child in the neighborhood. 4. Quit being so hard on yourself! 5. Try some sugar-free chocolate favored syrup in coffee for a quasi-mocha drink. Hang in there; you're doing great! -
That's awesome! Congratulations!

I'm right there with you; I call at least every 2-3 days. My problem isn't the insurance company yet; my Dr hasn't gotten my packet out. Although I have to admit that I keep having tests that end up further supporting my surgery. Every time it's close to going out, another test result comes into my surgeon's office.

How long should we keep our bands in us?
Mrs Sabre replied to cindyh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's interesting. I'm certainly no expert, but I've been under the impression that the band was meant to be permanent ... sort of like breat impants? -
I called my insurance; they have yet to receive my letter. I've left a voice message with my surgeon's office asking for an update. I don't mean to be impatient, but cannot wait to hear something!

I got the results of my sleep study. Although my apnea has worsened (mild to moderate) with the increased weight, it's still not bad enough for a CPAP. I do/did snore mild to loudly. I had no periodic limb movements; so my restless leg medication is doing it's job. The report did make the specific recommendation that I lose weight; so that should help my case. I faxed the report to Dr. Kuwada's office on Thursday. I spoke with Cathy Head, ANP last week, and she said they'd mail my information to the insurance once they received the results of the sleep study. So it should go out this week Let the waiting begin.... You can have my two front teeth, all I want for Christmas is a surgery date

Congratulations! I hope to follow you soon

OK lady, do you live on this forum or are we simply on the same schedule? I think you've been online every time I've been here. Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't want to be a closet bandster
Mrs Sabre replied to Road Queen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I admire your desire to spread the love, but I wouldn't want the added pressure of everyone knowing I'm banded and watching every thing I eat. With that said if I were going to openly tell everyone who wanted to know, I think I'd type up and copy a description of the band, how it works, general guidelines, and why I chose it for myself. -
I have a harelip border collie mix named Merlin (pix attached). He's just over a year old, and very sweet. I'm cat people and never really wanted a dog, but John (DH) and I went to PetSmart one Saturday almost a year ago, and there he was. The momma dog didn't want him. He couldn't nurse cause the milk would run out his nose. He was bottle fed, and at 3 months no one had adopted him. He loves everyone, including my cats. I also have two cats. Peanutbutter is 11 years old, a long-haired calico. Coo is 7 years old, a gray & black tabby mix. Neither of them can stand poor Merlin, but so far we've been able to establish an amicable co-existence.
