Count me in -
Went to the Y. It was like a homecoming; I've been in and out of the same Y for 7 years. I was welcomed back with open arms and started my day with another good cry. I'm still having technical issues; so my posts will be short.

Awesome pictures DeLarla, especially the one in Bryce Canyon! Beautiful!

Thanks Kathy! Frankly, I believe I am one of those people with a bonafide chemical imbalance in my brain. I have absolutely no reason to feel this way; I am tremendously blessed! My life is seriously great! Yet, I feel like crying for no reason and now almost constantly. I have an appointment with my PCP (Internist) next Wednesday. During my surgical evaluation, the psychologist admonished me to be aware of depression when told her I had stopped taking meds. I thought I was going to be OK, but I can't function like this.

Dianne/All, No news yet from doctor or insurance. I'm trying to be patient, but with the holidays no longer here to distract me, it's getting harder. I'm going back to my PCP and back on antidepressants. I'm not doing so good in that realm right now. I'm rejoining the YMCA today; that's good news.

CNN.com had a write up on the pros & cons of RNY vs the band this morning: http://www.cnn.com/2006/HEALTH/conditions/01/02/obesity.surgery.ap/index.html

Magic, how are you doing?
-
You're funny You're feeling better?
-
That is so awesome! I can only imagine, but hope to do the same with the help of the band.
-
Happy New Year eveyone! I'm back from a quiet long weekend with my parents. Outside of my Dad coming down with some sort of respiratory gunk, everyone is doing well.
-
Welcome aboard! I too hope you can join us for lunch in January! Awesome progress!

Kim, I never planned on learning how to ride. My DH's last bike had passenger pegs that where so high it was uncomfortable to ride on the back. That's when I decided to learn how to ride, took the class, and got my own. My first was a 250 cc Suzuki; my second a Kawasaki ZR-7; and now I have the Sabre. Even though I love to drive, I still enjoy hopping on the back from time to time, leaving the driving to John, and relaxing

What things are must haves pre & post LB operation? This is the only one I've heard specifically & often mentioned - 1. Gas X After getting everyone's input, this might make a good "sticky" post?

Road Queen, what's next? Another Road King or something else?
-
Welcome home! Hope you feel well soon.

Angie, outside of wanting a band to help in weight loss, I'm planning on gettting my house organized. I want to go through all of the drawers and closets throughout and organize, clean, and/or otherwise throw out anything that isn't being used. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
-
Betty, the only thing that has saved me from bugs and other UFOs is a full-face helmet w/visor. I've been fortunate enough to not have anything bigger than a praying mantis hit while riding the interstate. Eileen, I ditto Randy. I took the class five years ago, and didn't ride a lick before. DeLarla (I'm sorry I can't remember your given name), what model Harleys do you ride?
-
God bless you both! Our thoughts and prayers go with you!

"Crotch Rocketeers" ... that's cute! My husband rides a crotch rocket, but is a more conservative rider than a lot of them, i.e. full gear all the time and cautious. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with being 43 too.

Randy, congrats on riding Deal's Gap! Although I've been riding for 5 years now, the combination of big hills and lots of curves still unnerve me ... probably because I get very little practice on them. I've only been to the Asheville and Boone, NC mountain areas a couple of times. I'm OK going uphill on curvy mountain roads, but I border on anxiety attacks coming back down. That's not to say I won't go again, and again. To minimize the panic, I just take my sweet time coming down.
