I am also in a stall...I was sleeved April 27th and it is the first time that I have gotten on the scale and not lost an ounce. It is so frustrating!!!! The only thing I have done differently is that last week I did not get in my Protein shakes. I found that if I was drinking Water and eating there was not enough room for the shake. I went back to them two days ago and realized that they help me in so many ways. I have more energy, stay full longer and they help you go to the bathroom! I don't plan to skip them very often after figuring this out. Also, I think the stalls are pretty normal from what I am reading. Seems like the body just wants to hold on to the fat because it thinks it is being starved. Don't fret and don't quit...we can do this! Good luck!

A little over two years out and thrown right back into my fat days...
Italian Gal replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
You should have said...."it went wherever your hair line receded too!". So sorry that this fool embarrassed you, but believe me, everyone there knew he was the jerk! Be proud of your accomplishment. -
Welcome! There are really good suggestions and insights to different views on this site. It is the first place I come to when I need answers.

I also have a closet filled with different sizes...so one night I tried them all on. I made piles of things that fit now...things that would fit soon...and things for after that! I put a big plastic bag on the floor for things to pass along as they no long fit. So far, so good. It has stopped me from pulling my hair out trying to get dressed in the morning. Also, if I have somewhere special to be, I try to figure out the night before what will work. Shopping for clothes will one day be fun! While you are losing so quickly, switch to dresses! My sister said that was her salvation when she was changing sizes so quickly. She also told me to have one good pair of black pants and a pair of jeans. We can go anywhere in these!

Is there a bariatric cookbook or recipe forum?
Italian Gal replied to rnsamantha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found and ordered several books on Half.com for recipes and ideas from people who have had Bariatric surgery. I haven't started cooking from them yet, but I plan to! -
Best piece of advice you have! I'm a day away from Gastric Sleeve surgery.
Italian Gal replied to Sara51692's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Be positive...I had no vomiting or pain once I was home from the hospital. I did not even take the pain meds. I used a heating pad to help me with back ache...I still keep it on the sofa when I nap! -
What's the first food you cheated with after Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Italian Gal replied to NoBsVs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't "weigh" yourself down in emotions...we are not eating enough of anything to call a bite here or there cheating. Just keep the snacking in control. We can do this! -
6 weeks out and having trouble getting proper fluids in
Italian Gal replied to RammerJammer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know that many will tell you not to drink from a straw...but I find I can get much more Water down with it! Give it a try, take little sips and see if it helps. -

The perfect morning cup of coffee....I wish
Italian Gal replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WannaB....I know that every nutritionist says something different, but my doctor says we can have coffee when we are up to it. By nature I am a tea drinker...but I do so love that first cup of coffee in the morning to get me going. I have been having it the past three days, and it is delicious! So, have a cup, but don't be surprised if you can only drink half of it! -
What kind of broths?
Italian Gal replied to M.E.Flores's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The packets that my Doctor's office sold me were very tasteless....I used Campbell's. I still can not eat an entire can. -
Weight loss rate after sleeve
Italian Gal replied to Skywalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Babbs....I am going to follow your cue. As an older gal trying to get healthy, I don't care how long it takes. If that scales keeps moving down...I will be happy! -
Why not...you two could support each other. However, don't forget that men lose weight a lot easier than women. It's just NOT fair!

Congrats on the 100 lb weight loss...that is major!!!

lower left side pulling sensation and pain
Italian Gal replied to skinnyrita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We have to keep reminding ourselves that although this was laparoscopic, it is still a major surgery! Give yourself time to heal. Don't carry a heavy purse or heavy bags. This is the time to treat ourselves with care and kindness. -
Weight Loss Attention -- how to handle
Italian Gal replied to Vikingsfan8178's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When people say "you have lost weight"....I am going to say....."Yes, I have!" When people ask "how much have you lost?" I am going to say..."I am down another dress size" When people ask "how are you doing this?' I am going to say..."hard work!" And if they get really persistent...I am going to ask them...."Why do you want to know?" I am NOT ashamed of the surgery....I just want people to respect my privacy. -
I am 55 and three weeks post surgery today! Had absolutely NO problems from the surgery. No vomiting, nausea or reflux at all!!! Feeling younger every day that the scale shows a loss. My knees are already feeling better too! I only wish I had did this years ago because I am worried about how much flab will be left on this big body. Oh well, my insurance would not pay for this procedure and we had a daughter to raise. LOL! Now it is my time!!

17 days post-op and feeling FANTASTIC!
Italian Gal posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 17 days post op and feeling fantastic! I had hardly any pain, no gas, no vomiting, no reflux! I have been able to stick to the diet with very little adjustments. So happy that I did this and wondering why I waited so long to do it! -
Liquid diet day 2 sucks!
Italian Gal replied to HedwigPotter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I started a journal to go along with this journey I am on. It gives me a place to put my fears and my successes. Yes the TV commercials are horrible! Half the stuff they show I would not want to eat anyway, and yet they make me crazy! I have been putting the sound on mute and getting Water to sip. Finally, I decided to get up and dress and take a little walk. By the next day I drove to my parents house to visit. I am almost at week three and I have been out to lunch and dinner with friends and family. I am feeling great! And thankfully, that first week feels like it was long ago. Good Luck!
