Has anyone used Vitamin Patches?
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to slsgeek's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My order from Patch MD came today. It'll be nice to stop the multivitamin gummies as they had some carbohydrates. Will report back! -
Sleeved Saturday 8/8, home today 8/10.
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to Sharon1964's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Sharon1964 You're so right. I know for a fact that the facility I work for doesn't carry bariatric blood pressure cuffs either. Good for you and good luck on your WLS! -

Blood thinners/bruising-- how long does it last?
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to Invictus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's probable. A bruise can last anywhere between 7-14 days depending on the thickness of your skin. -

I know it's hard, but what's meant to be will be. Good luck to you. -
I actually flew on a plane on post-op day 2. Most people do fine by then.

Very inspiring story! Congratulations on your weight loss.

Uh oh. It's ultimately up to your surgeon, but I would prepare myself for a delay.

Great job! I would've been so crushed that I don't know if I would have thought of that. Thanks for sharing.

What food do you miss after your weight loss surgery?
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to raec81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes I miss the sugary stuff, like cake, candy bars, macaroons, and...oh let me stop now! -
Do you guys feel out of place in class, especially in the beginning? I'm trying to drum up the courage to go!

Question for the ladies.
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to Jessica Radcliff's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm planning on a breast lift with augmentation once I've reached my goal weight. Out of the four plastic surgeons I've seen in consultation, only one advised to do the procedure now...the others were strongly opposed to it until I lost all the weight. -
My fitness pal problems. Anyone struggle with this ap?
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to Bndtoslv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, there is a problem using it on my iPhone as well. -
Had surgery in 2010.... Ups and Downs since then
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to cgarcia's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have enough information to determine if your lap band has failed, but perhaps you and your physician should research your next options. -

Interesting! I'm sure they had everyone sign HIPAA/patient confidentiality forms at your first appointment...so this just seems a bit odd? I guess they can get around it with permission of the patient? Never seen it though. -
Psychiatric Medications
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to beautyforashes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may need to speak with your pharmacist about the best way to handle this, as you can't quarter or smash an extended release drug. -
Around 4 weeks. I could only tolerate a bite or two, but it was worth it!

BMI not Enough for a Revision - Have YOU made Yourself Heavier?
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to betrthnever's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I used ankle weights and fudged my height a bit to try to qualify for WLS through my insurance. I'm sure it's more common than most people think. -
I'll be away from home for 2-3 weeks for sleeve surgery, what should I take?
AngelaWilliamsMD replied to StephBtoo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For clothing, I recommend something with an elastic waist, that's at least one size too big to allow for bloating. Bring what you would take along for vacation. Unfortunately they're always will be something you forgot, despite all of the meticulous planning. Good luck with your surgery!
