  1. Isopure Zero Carb Apple Melon....well all the flavors but that is my favorite so far. I have not had to do the diet yet. I tried all of these beforehand so I would be prepared. I have not tried the sugar free Jello or pudding yet. But we have a list in our book of what we can have.
  2. My dr told me to try different things prior to surgery to see what I can tolerate. I did get a new Ninja as the other one would have been entirely too much work for the quantities I was attempting to make. I did break everything down into small freezer bags, purees etc, I am attempting to get used to this diet now so that I can be prepared. GNC had a grand opening and I got free membership, so I will try their Protein powder too. I do see that it has more calories than unjury, and I'm thinking it has some fat calories too. I'm not looking at it right now but I remember the pack is 200 calories. I really went in search of the Apple Melon Isopure. I tasted it, and was surprised that it tasted like apple jolly ranchers. I did get a few Protein Bars to try as well and other isoPure flavors. I explained to the employee what I was doing. She then led me away from a lot of the products and showed me why. Some of those bars have 400 calories each. I'm learning a lot. I feel excited about it all!

    Surgery Preparation

I did get the Quest Protein bars. I may have the Premier as well. I am not sure. I have 2 different brands that they explained would be best for someone after surgery. I have seen this protein powder on another site. There are many people that use it. I have so many issues with allergies that now I see the unjury sits well on my stomach, I am nervous to change too quickly with the flavors. The one I got from GNC is French vanilla. She said to try it in orange juice.

    Pre Op Liquid Diet

I have not done it yet. I am still in the planning phase. I felt that with such limited options of liquid, it'd be difficult. I have the same list and a few others in the book I have. But I did go to GNC and find the Apple Melon Isopure. It tastes like Apple Jolly Ranchers. Are you allowed to have these too? There are a few other flavors. This one was just what I found online and sought it out. Best of luck on your journey ahead!

    Unjury

I thought it being too warm would be an issue. It says 140 degrees. Possibly too cold could be too. Maybe I need to try the chicken soup recipe options. Possibly unflavored just isn't the one for me.
  7. Have you tried this? Is it the unflavored really as great as I've read other places online? I have a milk allergy. I was told not to be concerned with this one? Should I just wait til my consult? I am trying to make smoothies for breakfast. I already have all the fruit, yogurt, and small bags. Where to start?

    Unjury

What would I need the thermometer for? I already bought 3 blender bottles. I'm hesitant to try the other flavors due to allergies. Possibly I could try the vanilla.

    Unjury

I have finally tried. How do I get rid of the chalky taste? Should I be putting unflavored in food rather than smoothie? I was thinking the chicken soup would be for broths. I may move to trying that. But now I'm nervous to waste it if I'm not doing something right because I was only able to get half an oz down without gagging.

    Unjury

I have not tried it just yet. I figured that one would be for mixing in foods/broth which has a bland taste. I would guess having the unflavored stocked in higher quantities will be best if my stomach tolerates it. Of course they have several other flavors but I'd be nervous to try with all my allergies. Hope you like it!
  11. I met with the surgeon yesterday. She let me know that because I am already on a B12 supplement and and Iron, that she would need a letter from my Neurologist. I am grateful that she explained fully to me her thoughts on this. Some doctors miss things that are very important for making major life decisions. Has anyone else had these issues prior to? How did you do after the sleeve? I know everyone is very different. But I am curious to know.

    Unjury

I got my UNJURY on Thursday. I have yet to mix it and try it. I have yogurt and fruit. This is where I will start. I got 10 unflavored and 4 chicken Soup to start. Surgeon said to just try them out and see what my stomach will tolerate prior to actually needing to do liquid diet. I know they promote Advantage? They have a discount code. And seemed the Vitamins on there looked doable with the flavor options and chewable.
  13. I don't meet with the surgeon until Friday. But speaking with the Intake Coordinator yesterday, it is my understanding that they only have certain psychs that are approved for my clinic. They complete an MMPR2 or something like that. It seems to be only my state. But I too wonder what it is that they are seeking. It's a little worrisome to be told you have to wait 2 weeks to get the results.

    Pre-op diet and phentermine

That sounds horrible! I did have to have an echo since I was on it. But I haven't had any side affects that I know of. And I was on it a few years ago.

    Pre-op diet and phentermine

I asked the dr at the info session today and she said that it'd have to be a month prior to surgery because it raises your blood pressure.

    Unjury

Thank you! I will order it. I was nervous. I plan to get the single serve packets to start with to make things a little easier. Would that be too much for one serving? I saw they have some different recipes on their site. Have you tried any of those?

    Unjury

I am just starting my journey. So, I am learning. Just figuring out where to start. I have my consult next Friday.

    Unjury

I was thinking chicken broth and Unflavored. I am allergic to strawberries and chocolate.
  19. Is this a private FB group? All the others are not. I would like to join one that doesn't show everyone that I'm a part of it.

    Pre-op diet and phentermine

I don't have my consult until next Friday, May 8th. But I will post. I know all drs are different though. I just got back on it. And I have a ways to go before I'd be approved. I have the info session on Sat. Once you find out please share what your doctor said!

    Pre-op diet and phentermine

That is on my list of questions for my dr. I would imagine that it would make it easier to do!
