  1. Completed Psych Eval this morning. Didn't feel too great about it. Felt extremely rushed. I will get the results in 2 weeks. I don't like the idea of this being the determination of my entire outcome. This is the first week I have held myself 100% accountable. After getting the screw off the bottom of the food scale, which is a lifesaver by the way, I measured out all lunch and dinner for the week. My grocery list has significantly changed. I actually like the wheat English Muffins. I am Pre-Surgery. So, my diet, of course is 1500 calories. I have found a calendar that helps to lay it all out. I've completed all my visits with health insurance and 2nd req dietician visit will be same day as results in 2 wks. I am still a work in progress. I am proud of how far I've come. sleep study on Monday.
  2. Sorry that happened to you! But it's best to be 100% before going forward. I hope that you can move past this and still be successful at a later date!

I am seeing a lot of people had this issue with WLS surgery not being covered. It is sad because it's one of those things people just don't have enough info about. I am moving forward. My sleep study will be next Monday. So, the next few weeks will be a waiting game for me. Yes, more people ask how could I like my job. But some days are better than others. I'm sure it's the same with anything, you care so much for the person on the phone that you forget you're at work. But I am thankful that my position is not so scripted that we can not be compassionate about the situation families are going through. It feels so great to be thanked.

This has got to be be a very interesting job. It takes a very strong person. @@justme29 -- it is indeed interesting! Thanks! Hardest, most stressful job I've ever had. I'm 10 days post op & already worried about being on my game when I go back. No room for mistakes! Congrats on getting through the process. Keep going! I am still working through the kinks. But I am a debt collector. Probate Collections. Some days I feel like I'm a licensed therapist though. I love helping people through the tough time. But in the end, collections is the job role. Just be patient with yourself. From all the posts, it does seem we take jobs to care for others.

    Bariatric Advantage Promo Code?

There is a clinic look up option on there. Also, you'll want to use your drs code because each clinic may have different suggested items.
  7. It may be different in Mexico, well it's different state to state. But my clinic says 8 weeks. I know someone that was not able to proceed because she couldn't quit. If you have the timeline from your dr, focus there. Keep your progress as your way of getting through. I am not a smoker so that I can't relate. But they do say with any addiction, including food, it has to be replaced. Hope this resolves for you!

Unjury Chicken Soup -- Am I doing it wrong?

I put this in pureed veggies. I thought the texture was the carrots. Well, now I see I am not the only one that had this issue. Same as you, I do like the taste. I pureed veggies in broth. Let everything sit til room temp before adding. I am wondering if I should be mixing proteins in food in Ninja then freezing, instead of adding after. But you're saying your UNJURY Chicken Soup was the same really makes me wonder.

    Did anyone tell children ?

My son is 9. He has also seen some of my books. He has not yet asked. He just always thinks you go to the dr for being sick. So I told him I Am not sick. I am going to the dr for something good. I have been eating healthy and they are helping me to do so. The goal is to get to ride all the rides at the theme park with him. So, I simply told him I'd be working really hard and soon I'd be able to outrun him. But he told me never, he's just too fast and some times goes slower just so I don't feel as slow. But I will have to tell him something. I think I will just tell him the dr fixed my tummy.
  11. Let me know how the Vanilla goes. I did a post about this when I was ordering. I have did Unflavored and chicken Soup. I actually put chicken soup in veggie puree. I like it. Unflavored I've put in banana and applesauce mixes. But I'm now coming to the point where I am just not liking it. And it could be because I did the Lean 25 from GNC, and I'm knowing this isn't going to be something my dr will let me keep! Or so I feel like it. I have first dietician visit next Weds. I also have a milk allergy, not lactose intolerant, which I learned early in life were different things. But both these 2 have stayed down ok for me and I am actually shocked. I loved the Apple Melon Isopure in liquid form.

    Starting a Routine

I will be getting my elliptical delivered shortly. Has anyone else used iFit? How do you like it? I am excited to get it and start a workout plan. Well, I'll build up to one. I know I'll start out slow. How about Les Mills Combat? Did you like it? I'm getting it because I have watched some on youTube and don't find it boring. This is an excitement for me. This is where I'll start. And in the mean time I will be ordering the equipment mat and weight gloves.

    Starting a Routine

I chose the elliptical because of the stress to my knees. I went into the store for about week straight and decided on this. I'm just curious about iFit. I know I will have to wait a bit before using it regularly. I'm making a walking plan now! I've been getting moving a lot more. Each break at work, I'm walking. It's actually exciting. I think that would be fun. But with Ifit you can race people. Have you seen a video class before? Would be really good to make use of your treadmill. I know it was an expensive thing to get and not use. That's what I was worried about with picking that. It's actually taken me about 2 months to come to a conclusion. It has a 30 day money back guarantee. Not all of them have weights. I watched some so I think it should be okay for me. We'll see.

    FMLA

Did anyone get Fmla for pre-op? My clinic said I needed to talk to HR about it. I really don feel comfortable as it is so personal. I know for the surgery healing days I can do it. How did it work for you?
  18. justme29

    FMLA

I did. That is what I was coming to update.

    FMLA

Just wanted to update that I did get this figured out. Finally met with HR and I did get it approved for appointments in preparation for surgery. Thanks!
  20. They gave me a sample of this as I got a free membership due to grand opening in my neighborhood. Absolutely loved it in orange juice. And I was so full! Right now, my doctor told me to just try things to see what I can tolerate. Is this one the correct type of Protein? I have 2 $5 off coupons and they are buy 1 get one 50% right now. So, it'd be awesome. I will try calling the clinic tomorrow though. I haven't had dietician appt yet, only a phone one which is through my insurance. So, my deep freezer is full of purees etc now. I wanted to see what tasted ok. Did a pretty good job. And honestly, am taking in more veggies this way!
  21. @@justme29 yum yum they are so delicious you are still pre-op right?? @@VSGAnn2014 buys the pre-made in the plastic bottles me too!!! much easier, able to immediately drink more expensive than the powder i figure i'm worth it you are too i drink the swiss chocolate luv, luv, luv it i forgot "they" will give those teeny samples for taste think i'm gonna try that @@Inner Surfer Girl said "Be extremely careful with fruit juices due to the high sugar content." totally true I kindof cringed/gasped when i saw you were adding powder to orange juice STOP IT!!! people have been shot for less you sound very prepared for post op plenty of pureed stocked in freezer way to go keep up the good work with your preperations where were you 3.5 years ago i could have used your expertise can't wait to meet you in sleeveland good luck kathy Yes, glad she told me before I got extremely stuck to that mix. But I'm thinking if I check out the other flavor, I should be fine. My doctor's office has me on all the Vitamins I will take later as well. So, they want to see if people are able to comply with the eating habits we're promising. When I got the new Ninja, I got a little excited. I have some fruit and yogurt smoothies but I know with that, I can't have those right away. I did the puree applesauce in bananas, veggies in broth etc. I was kinda going puree overboard for a couple weeks. For me, I can not tolerate milk so it's not an option to go pre-made. Because I have several shaker bottles now, It's not very much work for me. I even took the applesauce and banana puree with unflavored protein in one of those. It worked fine. It's a very different way of eating. But I am trying to figure it out. When I make a commitment, I like to stick with it. For now, I'm trying to figure out which Proteins will get overstocked! And I know the Isopure Zero Carb Apple Melon will be fully stocked for 2 week liquid diet! I have also finally given in to getting an elliptical, but I'll be starting out with the Les Mills Combat DVD before moving forward. I was given a list of things to do, one was join an excercise program, with my work commute, this will be about as good as I can get to one. I'll let you know how it goes!
  22. They are all made from milk. But from the research I've done people are either allergic to the whey or the casein. If I drink milk, it comes right back out. I can't tolerate it at all. I have not had any issues with the ones that I have had. I am allergic to peanuts too. That's the issue with most the bars contain almonds, which most don't relate with peanuts. I had to return most of them.
  23. I am doing the powder because of a milk allergy. I have tolerated them all well. All the ready mades are milk. So, I will go get it and try it with water. As, this is one I know I like! Thanks!
  24. I am allergic to strawberries and chocolate. I am trying to make sure the type of Protein was right. But it seems several are using this one. It will not be my only. As I am using unjury as well. I have one other flavor UNJURY to try. But I need something that can be store bought as well. Thanks! I'm excited to try these other flavors.
  25. I was going to get the Orange Flavor too. But does that mean I am to add them to water? I am new to this. That is what the rep in the store told me to add it to. I just looked up the OJ label and I see what you're referring to.
