It happened to me. I know they gave me a couple of bags of antibiotics in the IV so I assumed that is what caused mine. A couple of days after returning home I noticed white patches on my tongue. Feeling better now.

How Long to Lose the Bloat
Hengirl replied to sbacoleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on July 15. It was a good 4 days to stop feeling so puffed up. I still have swelling around a couple of the incisions and internally I'm sure. I cannot bend over to tie my shoes. My 16-year old son is grudgingly lacing them up so I can walk. -

How is everyone doing today? I am at home now which feels so nice. Took a nap when I arrived and now watching trashy daytime TV and walking for 10 minutes of every hour. Gas isn't dissipating very quickly and stomach is really swollen. But it isn't unbearable. I forgot to mention that I am 6 pounds o from surgery weight due to the bags of IV formula that got pumped in. -

My surgery was yesterday morning at about 11. I have been walking quite a bit and the nurses say I am doing really well. I just got dressed and that made me feel like a real person again. I have been sipping on Premier Protein and G2 nonstop. Pain is mostly the gas pain but stomach muscles are really sore when getting up and then sitting back down. -

Best wishes. Mine is tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing how it goes. -
I forgot to mention soaking in vinegar. Then wash in cold water. This also helps remove the funk!

Try Sport Wash. You can get it at sporting goods stores and on Amazon. It helps a lot. Made for synthetic fabrics.

I have United Healthcare but my company does not cover weight loss surgery at all. So, it is self pay for me!

I like the Isopure Green Tea but I drink the Alpine Punch flavor as well. I agree about not smelling them but I don't mind the taste at all.

Salem/Portland Oregon sleevers?
Hengirl replied to xxjosettexx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am getting so anxious to get it over. I am ordering the unjury sample pack but I really like the clear Isopure drinks. I have been using them ad my snacks. It is strange to think that I have lost about 30 pounds eating around 2000 calories per day and soon I will have less than 1000 per day. I just cannot believe I will have energy to walk etc. -
I am scheduled for July 15 with Dr. Patterson. I live south of Portland. While going through the pre op apptd, Ifollowed Dr. Pattersons staff members advice and have been cocentrating on adding protein and resistance training. I have lost right at 30 pounds and hope to lose another 5 or so by surgery date. Only 1 day of pre op liquid diet to get through but of course there will be a couple of additional weeks of that after surgery. This site has been such a great source of information

Salem/Portland Oregon sleevers?
Hengirl replied to xxjosettexx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will have one day of liquids pre op, as well. @@zonetracy how is everything going for you post op? How was your surgery experience at the surgical center? I am starting to feel nervous and worried about failure. I ate an entire burger at McMenamins tonight even though I only meant to have half. I feel slightly ill right now. I imagine that I won't be eating an entire burger in the future. At least I didn't have fries! -

I am in the Portland area. I am scheduled for surgery July 15-cannot believe it is coming up so fast now. My surgeon is Dr. Emma Patterson. Do you have a pre op diet to follow? -

I am getting my surgery in Portland, OR. I am also relieved that I don't have an extended pre op liquid diet. I have lost 21 pounds by concentrating on protein and adding resistance training. -

I am scheduled for July 15. I only have clear liquids the day before surgery. I am really nervous and am fighting off second thoughts. I still have a cardiac clearance on Monday to get through but everything else has been completed. I am self paying because our insurance does not cover any weight loss surgery. -
RMR (resting metabolic rate) testing
Hengirl replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They clip your nose shut and you breath through a tube connected to a machine. It takes around 10 or so minutes. You must be fasting. No caffeine either because it will create a false higher RMR. I was told that they put patients on about 500 fewer calories per day than their reading. I am still going through all of my pre op spots and meet the doctor next week. -
RMR (resting metabolic rate) testing
Hengirl replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just had one as part of my pre-op work. It says my resting rate is 1987 calories per day. Years ago I was part of a study that did an RMR test and then set our calorie intake at that amount. I lost a pretty steady 2 lbs a week then.
