when I got my date I seconded guessed everything myself. I'm terrified of being in pain afterwards. The 1st 3 days after I got my date I couldn't sleep I kept dreaming about being in pain. Another worry for me is what's my skin and boobs gonna look like. But even with all these concerns I'm preparing each day . Also I'm not on a pre op diet. I just have to do Clear liquids the day before then fast after midnight.

This is what I'm hoping for. I was honestly worried at 1st. Like why is everybody on this liquid diet but I'm not. I had to call my nut and make sure I wasn't missing anything

I'm schd for the 18th. I took off work from the 17- 6th. Just in case lol. All I have left is to get medical clearance but my pcp is on vacation so I can't see she until the Monday of my surgery so hopefully she clears me sane day so I don't have to reschedule I'm already super nervous.

My date is June 18th! I see everybody on the forum talking about this pre-op diet that I'm not on. My doctor only has me with clear liquids the night before. That has me a little worried -
June 18th is the big day. I've been so excited every since I got approved but once I got my date I started having second thoughts !! Has this happened to anybody else? I'm still going to do it. It's one thing to go thru the process but now I have my date in 2 weeks. I can't wait ....or maybe I can lol.

I'm ready for it but I'm nervous everyday that passes I keep getting closer. My doctor only has me doing a clear liquid diet 1day before so I'm not getting the hell of a few weeks of only liquids which is good o suppose but I haven't read anybody else only do one day. It's nerve racking ????????. And I keep having dreams about being in pain afterwards. I think that's my biggest fear of the surgery !

GOING TO VISIT PCP NEXT WEEK
lex8701 replied to Journey2BeSleeved_'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the same. I went directly to the surgeon. I honestly only went to my pcp for my letter of medical necessity and I'm going to get medical clearance. My surgeon was able to give me referrals to see the psyc and dietitian -

hi Nikki! Congrats on your surgery date. I finally had my psych visit so now I'm just waiting on the approval from the insurance company. Fingers crossed ????????. Definitely keep in touch !!
-
Omg. I met another surgeon today and I love him already. He's already came highly recommended but meeting him was a whole different experience. I know that's who I want to go for with my surgery. I'm so excited but now that I'm home reading all the informs I was given I'm nothing but nerves all over again. Than he told me I can get down to 130-140lbs ( currently 242 today ) I almost cried. I've never been that small in my life. I wish I could rush the process and get it done already !!! Patiently working thru the steps. ☺️

Congrats on receiving your surgery date. I'm still going thru the steps. Need my psych visit which Is scheduled for May 20 so hopefully everything goes well ????. I decided yo go with Dr. Nusbaum. Once I met him I knew I wanted him to preform my surgery. Dr. Ward just didn't sit to well with me. My consult was rushed.

Hi gang. I'm new to the forum. I'm currently in the process of getting my gastric sleeve. I must say this is an extremely scary process. Especially since I don't have anybody to talk to about it. Of course I have my family but my mom is so afraid of the doctor she's always bringing up the worst. Any insight to this will be helpful. Thanks all
-
Also the educational seminar I went to only talked about the different types of surgeries. But it was ran by a nutritionist so I had to start meeting doctors on my own
-
I could go to overlook as well. I work for the hospital so I have to be use an Atlantic health surgeon. If I don't feel comfortable with dr. Nusbaum I'll look into other doctors. I was just staying close to work 1st
-
Thank you Donna I feel the same way. It's just that my family tries to talk me out of it every chance they get. I'm too young ( I'm 22). I should just work out. I'm not that heavy etc. it's to the point I don't even want to tell them what's going on. Every time I mention going to meet with my doctor it's always " your really getting surgery. You don't need it". It's just all very frustrating
-
Hi Kathy. Your absolutely right it is my decision! It's just hard when your going they this alone I guess. The 1st doctor I went to said I qualify but he rushed our consult that's why I decided to see a second doctor. I'm also going to meet with the nutritionist Tuesday. Everything is moving so quickly !
-
Thanks for your reply bino. Dr. Nusbaum comes highly recommended! Somebody from dr. Ward office actually recommend him that's why I decided to go on a second consult. I can already tell the staff is friendlier over the phone. I cannot wait to meet him !

Hi fellow sleevers! I'm new to the group. I'm in northern jersey am I'm going to have my surgery at Morristown medical center. Anybody used Dr. Ward or Dr. Nesbaum? Those are the 2 surgeons I was deciding between. I'll figure it out when I see dr. N on Monday. This is a scary experience and I'm looking for all the support I can get. My family keeps telling me that I don't need the sleeve being that I don't look " that big". But I'm 5'5 245lbs. I may not " look that big" but I'm unhealthy and I want to prevent any weight related issues that run in my family. Am I wrong for wanting surgery? Ugh. Sorry I'm all over the place , I have nobody else to talk to ????

Anyone kept their procedure a secret?
lex8701 replied to FatboyNYC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't told anybody except my mom and sister. I told one friend and that's only because she got gastric bypass and I ask her for in sight.. I feel like I'm going to be judged for having my surgery. I'm doing it for myself but I'm young I don't want to be the talk of the town either. How are you handling your situation? -
Thank you for your kind words miss Mack. I usually just read others posts. This is my 1st time posting

Wow Jamie it's so funny you said that because my mom was talking about getting a knee replacement. But thank you for the open arms. I'm deff nervous about the whole ordeal. I thought it was going to be a 6 month process so I was mentally prepared and the doctor says its only 2 months ! I was a bit taken back by that. I'm going to see a second surgeon on Monday. I want to weight all my options before I choose which doctor I want to go with
