    First soft meal after liquids

My nutritionist says up to 5 weeks is 1/2 cup...6 weeks forward is 3/4 cup for sleevers. I intend to always measure because I am not going to regain my weight. I am full at 1/2 cup now so why eat more? That is what got me here.

    I need to process

That's a great idea, even if just for you. You can look back later at the days when things were frustrating or on your victories and smile. Good luck!
  6. Sip, sip, sip. Drinking is the hardest part after the procedure. I thought something was horribly wrong because I couldn't drink much right after. Do ice chips, Water even sf popsicles to get Fluid in. In time your intake will be much easier. I can swallow larger amounts at a time now. I had seasonal allergy issues at surgery and went in with a cough. I held that pillow to me and it really did help but it was still not great. It will pass also and you will be okay! Good luck!!

    Sleeve date - June 9th

Way to go @@fit4me0716! Good luck with your procedure! I didn't have any of the nausea or gas pains I had read about prior to surgery. Follow whatever pre-op plan you have, I really think that makes a difference! Will be thinking of you and saving you a spot on the bench!

    Waist training

Yep, agreed, I would ask. I would be very careful with anything compression related. Better safe than sorry?

    Day Five...hunger

The part of your stomach that is removed with the sleeve is the part of your stomach that causes hunger pains. Most likely you are experiencing head hunger, Going off plan is a slippery slope and behavior that got us into trouble in the first place. Make sure you are getting your fluids and eating per your plan so you don't have those feelings. This being said, everyone's journey is their own and it is up to you ultimately what you do...good luck!!!

  12. Sleeved on May 15, 2015...took one week off with memorial day and weekends for a total of 11 days. I felt tired but was ready to go back after 7 days. I do have a desk job so also depends on your type of work. Good luck!!

    GA - Atlanta

A lot of hospitals do meetings...check your area. I go to Johns Creek Hospital monthly.
  15. Yes acid can definitely make you feel nauseated. My surgeon had me take Prilosec for 14 days after surgery then I was free to stop. Try it to see if it helps. Also make sure you are not drinking while eating and eating slow...both those things can cause nausea if you are not following the plan.

    Acid reflux

I had reflux before surgery and just took Zegrid as needed. After being sleeved the surgeon had me take Prilosec for 14 days. Have not had a single episode since. I am 3weeks post op.
  19. We all tend to lose differently and for me the waist tends to be the last to go. It will happen! I would suggest taking your measurements every so often to see the inches where the scale may not reflect changes. I do mine about every 3 weeks.

    Newbie in Houston...decisions....

No specific info on any of those but do your research on all. Ask tons of questions. Make sure you like the surgeon because you have to trust them. Good luck!!
  21. I am not having that issue. Are you taking any kind of antacid like Prilosec or another? What happens when you try to eat other things?

    Food Apathy

It sounds like maybe you are a bit depressed. It's a lot to take on with caring for your husband who is ill. Maybe you could talk to a therapist? I am so sorry for your situation and your feelings. I don't think it is true apathy with food nut a manifestation of your depression or stress. Hang in there and seriously talk to someone. Good luck!
  23. Having another bout of tiredness...3 weeks out. Pushing through but grrr.

    Protein input

I haven't bought any of the unflavored because I am not having any issues with my Protein intake. I use one Protein shake a day and it has 30g in it. With the fish, chicken and turkey I eat I get enough in my day. I also use greek yogurt as my snack when I want to have one and I manage to get 60-80 g a day.
