    I need some pep talks!

My condolences on the loss of your mother, lost mine to breast cancer several years ago. Kudo's on your degree! That must feel great! Agree with grammy, hubby must pitch in and help relieve some of your stress, you have been carrying quite a load for the last year but the load you haven't been carrying is 88 POUNDS!! Congrats on your efforts! Get back to the plan that worked for you and you will have many more successes! Good luck and know you have this!!
  2. Down 77 pounds and I just noticed I have a thigh gap...OMG!

Listen to @@proudgrammy, if not she will hunt you down! jk
  4. Get started now, no time like the present. Begin switching to high protein/low carb eating. This will be your eating habits after surgery so it will be less of a change. The pounds you lose now will get you closer to your goal for after surgery. No food funerals, that is pounds you have to lose again. Research, research, research. Educate yourself on the procedures and what you want. Write down all of your questions so you can ask everything at your visit. Practice eating slower, drop carbonated drinks now or wean yourself off. Again less of a shock later is you do it now. Good luck!!

    Dumping syndrome or something else?

Maybe eating too fast or not chewing enough..slow down and chew and see if it helps.

    Waiting for official approval

Call and ask for pre-certifications...ask has there been a determination on your surgery approval.

Just starting out, sharp ankle pain after walking?

I wouldn't think it was typical but maybe some good walking shoes might be worth the investment? Maybe it is the incline also since you are not used to it. Try waking with no incline to see if it still happens.

    I can't believe this

Congrats to you on your success! Keep up the good work!

    Hate chewable multivitamins

Regardless of what the reason, be it texture or anything... Check with your nutritionist. They have run into this before and will have an alternative for you. Good luck!

    Surgery and Work

I took 11 days but really could have gone back to work early at 7 days. I took the time to rest and heal. I started driving at day 5 and worked on building my energy back up. I recover pretty quickly from surgery and also have a mostly desk job.

    Ability to Exercise

Everyone's journey is different for sure. People are at different weights and carry their weight differently. Some have been exercising before surgery and some not at all. Some have bad knees, hips and backs and some not. The point is to get up and get moving. That may be more than you ever did before. I know for me I avoided exercise and I know that it MUST be a part of this plan I am following. I started slow and actually did 5 minutes on our treadmill at 2 miles an hour before my legs gave out. Now I walk 1.5 miles a day and am building to more. The more I lose the more I am able to do. I do weights 2 days a week. The more I do there also the more reps I can do. Get up and walk to the end of your driveway and repeat til you are tired. The next day go a few feet more. Before you know it you will be walking miles. Don't compare yourself to others, this is your journey! Good luck!

    I have a target

Follow your plan to the letter. You may make it or you may not, its a marathon not a sprint as they say. Good luck!
  20. Just keep sipping. Initially the intake is difficult as you are so swollen and just had major surgery. Focus on getting as much as you can in and increase every day. The danger is dehydration at this point. Set a timer if necessary but take a sip as often as you can...small sips add up! Before you know it you will be drinking more normally. Hang in there!

    Help! Just had surgery...

I was sleeved as an outpatient. The first 3 days I took my pain meds but the pain I felt came more from the hernia repair than the sleeve. I felt okay enough to stop the pain meds day 3 and was driving day 5. Everyone is different so your journey may be a completely different story. Good luck!

    Restriction post op!

Full liquids are still liquids and they pass right through. You should not rely n restriction to see when you are full when you get to introduce foods. Measure everything so you don't over eat. Good luck!

    First NUT appt.

What is your insurance looking for that it could be as few as 3 but up to 6 visits?

    Waiting is the hardest part.

Keep a copy of everything! It is a shame that we have to do so much of the work they are paid to do but it is reality. Go get your report and hand deliver it. Good luck!
