Basically eating questions
ShrinkingPeach replied to a.urquijo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate eggs on day 7 and was on soft foods going forward. At week 5 I was on regular food. I also get full really fast and I also can eat a hamburger but only half. With only so much room for food I make smarter healthier choices to eat. I really have to make sure I get my Protein in and then there is little room for anything else. On the bright side I don't get hungry though so it isn't very hard to avoid the bad things. -
Good luck!!

You will be fine. I didn't have to do one of those, I only had to do an upper GI. Deep breaths and relax. You've got this! Good luck!! -
Advice needed: how do you take your Bariatric Advantage vitamins?
ShrinkingPeach replied to CloserToFine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do a calcium chew as soon as I get up (6am)...2 hours later I take a multi(8am). I take a calcium chew at 5pm and another multi at 7pm. Twice a week I do sublingual B-12 and i do those at lunch. The main thing is to take the calcium 2 hours apart from the multi. Since you take 3 Multivitamins I would do Breakfast lunch and dinner or breakfast, afternoon snack and bedtime. Do the calcium chews 2 hours before or after. -
Week 2 postop: having a hard mental food time
ShrinkingPeach replied to Nyelaah's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep it happens! I stopped having those thoughts about 6 weeks out. As soon as you can get some variety in your food intake it really helps...hang in there!! -
Why do people say the things they do?
ShrinkingPeach replied to Hello new me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It may not be that these people are "hating" but maybe envious because it might be a struggle for them to even think about being your size from where they are now. After surgery you will all have something in common, having had the surgery and will have the same experiences with stalls, food intake etc. Know that their attitudes come from a place within them and is not about you. It could be that they feel uncomfortable being bigger than you and feeling exposed in a room where you are. I would hope as they see you are not judging them, then they will accept you. Good luck!! -
Medication Absorption
ShrinkingPeach replied to crayak's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absorption of things happens in the intestines. Bypass re-routes those, the sleeve doesn't. That is one of the major reasons I wanted the sleeve. I was sleeved 5-15-15 and have had no issues with absorption of medication or Vitamins. Hope that helps! -
Im scared
ShrinkingPeach replied to BreighannaJonassen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you are on your way with 30 pounds lost. Don't rely on this forum as your sole source of info. Most people here will be very helpful but some will throw out crazy advice from time to time. Ask how your Nutritionist likes to communicate. Mine prefers email and I email her when I need an answer and she is very prompt in responding. Keep an open line of communication with your surgeon and NUT. Listen to @BLERDgirl. Those are very valid points! Good luck and when in doubt as your team. If you need something maybe send a PM to a veteran on here. They have been there and done it...they even bought the silly t-shirt! -

The more you understand it the better you will feel. Research Research Research. The internet is at your fingertips learn as much as you can. Ask questions once you read things to get answers to your questions. Have you had your consult yet? -
Welcome back and yes you have been missed. Glad to hear life is a bit less hectic and hope it stays that way.

What do you use to sort/organize your lunch kit?
ShrinkingPeach replied to theatrejo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 2 small bento boxes I got at walmart. I used them for a bit then the washing the compartments started to annoy me. Rubbermaid containers are what I use now. I have one with 2 sections. one large and one small. Easy clean up and matching lid. Got 2 packs of 4 for a very low price. Also at Walmart. I also got Rubbermaid screw top containers that hold 1.5 cups (more than I can eat) they are great for when my lunch is all mixed together and not separate items. -

REGRET -doctor Changed goal weight
ShrinkingPeach replied to AWD12368's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon also never set a goal weight and when I asked him what could I expect he said it was up to me. He said to take advantage of the honeymoon work the plan and exercise. It truly is up to me to achieve success. I have to want to do it not because he sets a goal in front of me. -
ISOPURE....wtf am I supposed to do with this?
ShrinkingPeach replied to rora's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Depends on your taste. I like the grape and my husband likes the coconut which I haven't tried. -
Leslie Sansone has DVD's that are for walking inside. It is hot and humid here and I do my walking inside. They go all the way up to 6 miles I think.

feeling horrible, 7 wks post op, eating hurts, laxatives suck, acid is back with avengence
ShrinkingPeach replied to DavisP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 7 weeks post-op your new tummy is still healing. I wish I could say all that would resolve itself but some have to take antacids ongoing. I know you don't wish to do that but that would be better than meds for co-morbidities. Hang in there it will get better. Your system is still re-adjusting to surgery, a major change in diet and higher Protein. Things will level off and the weight loss will make you feel better. Good luck!! -
Feeling a bit Overwhelmed
ShrinkingPeach replied to moriah_nocarey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Babbs is correct! This first few weeks is the worst with the trial and error of finding things you can tolerate. I did thin instant mashed potatoes and they stayed with me but I could only eat about 1.5 ounces at a time. The egg worked at 2 weeks out for me but I couldn't eat a whole egg. Chewing is key and small bites. Go slow so you see if a bite is going to be okay before taking another one. Every day it gets better, I promise. Hang in there and as @@Babbs said try different things from your list if eggs won't work Good luck!. -
I do the caramel one from Bariatric Advantage
