Trying to keep busy today to keep my mind off thing's but "clear liquid's" keep reminding me of what's going on. Wish ya the best and a speedy recovery, Steve

dannyt, Yep doing it in KC, checked out TJ real hard for half the price but after all the bitchin from those that knew I'm goin with KC. I like everyone in KC (Dr. Malley & staff) but I was looking at two for one down south. I was looking at having my neice done also but her schedule wouldnt permit. I almost wish I had just left for the weekend and not told anyone. Good luck to ya, I was looking at Dr. Kuri, who you going with?

    For Just Us Guys

Went today for my last visit before the big day (next Tuesday). It was "payday" for them, plus I had to give my last quart of blood. They took us thru everything from beginning to end. Spent all the time with us we wanted, no question's left unanswered. EKG showed I was healthy as a horse but the best part was I went from 320 to 295! So now I'm thinkin maybe I should get that fat check back and try this dieting a lil harder! Naaaaaaah, not a chance in hell, come to far to turn back now. So, if anybody find's 25 pound's layin around, DONT BOTHER SENDING IT BACK, THERE IS NO REWARD WAITING FOR IT! :tt1:

$$$$$pendin' Money, I know what ya mean! "H.D." dont stand for Harley Davidson, it stand's for "Hundred Dollar's" every time ya walk in the dealership and buy somethin', ya just cant walk out for less. I went in a dealership yesterday to pick up a seat nut & clip and only spent $2.13, it was like losing 20 lbs! I was really proud of myself! Checked out the new line of bike's, personally I cant say I'm real impressed with any of them. Nothing is gonna beat my ol' E-glide, I think I'll keep her awhile longer. Y'all have a good day, I'm headed to KC to give my last drop of blood. Steve

JaxBandster / Karen, 68 degrees ! ! ! Would you please go put a couple miles on for me??? I left home (SE Kansas) this mornin around 6:00am in a vest, got 2 hrs west and hit a blizzard. Froze my ass off! Just got in and had a fire ready to start. Going tomorrow for blood work in KC, next Tuesday is the big day for me so I'm just one jump ahead of ya. I havent weighed but I know I've lost. Figured I'd wait until tomorrow to see how I did. Been really hard as I'm gone from home ALOT and am use to eating out everyday. The Protein shake mixed with my bottle of Water today SUCKED! Cant wait till next week, but then I get to go two weeks on liquid. Not sure this is going to work. This is really testing my willpower. I'm about to go "postal".:rolleyes2:

"What happened to all the nice guys?"

Women arent going to realize just how true this is, or wont let their selfs believe it. Those that were "teaser's" in the past I have seen are the lonely one's now day's. Yes, revenge is sweet!

    Hey Guys

Mornin' Geo, It was my impression the port was placed higher up??? I wouldnt think it would be placed down around the belt line due to wear on it??? I'm going in Feb. 5th so I actually dont know for sure I'm sure other guy's on here would, but I would sure find out "before" surgery. Good luck to ya and keep us posted how your doing. Steve

    Anyone Taking Vytorin?

I've been taking it for my high Cholesterol only to learn I (we've) been getting the shaft. Doc say's a generic brand would of done the same thing and saved me alot of $$$$$$$. I wonder if there's a refund in there somewhere? No doubt some lawyer will get my share!

    Pre Op Liquid Diet

slbindc, check the label first before eating it! :biggrin2: I was to start my pre-op diet today but started a week ago just to get myself ready. Not sure I'm doing something right, will be calling the Dr. office this pm. Having leg, back & lower belly cramps as of last night. After a week, maybe not getting enough of something??? I'm drinking 2-8oz Protein shakes (Breakfast & lunch) and steak or chicken for dinner w/vegi & salad, between 500 & 565 calories. The shakes are GNC 100% Whey Protein and I like them but have only tried the banana Cream & Cookies & Cream. Better with skim milk but not bad with Water. ($15 for 1 lb & buy 1 get 1 half off) I went with smaller pack to see if I liked it. Also got Body Fortress Whey Protein at Wally World, not as good but can live with it and cheaper. ($14.50 2lb container, but only 1/2 full)

    Banded Bikers II

RidinMyHDDream / Carol I know this is suppose to be a LapBand forum "BUT" be very carefull and try an keep your bike to the regular maintance schedule. Should anything ever happen to it "under warranty" it may come back to haunt you if you dont! I took my 01 bagger in about a 1000 miles late once and they warned me about it and changed the mileage on the ticket to be inline with the regular schedule for warranty perposes. I also have a trailer I pull from time to time, seen a million of em on the road but "that's a big NO NO"! If a Harley rep was to walk into their shop while servicing my bike with that hitch on, it would VOID my warranty! To hard on the tranny they say (I say BS). I've rode since I was a pup, started out on a Honda Trail 50 (Mini Bike). My son went through the Marines and is in his last year of the Harley school in Pittsburg Ks. He'll be in the very first graduating class of the 4yr school. I've learned ALOT from him (and I thought I knew everything, just dont tell him!) Yes, would highly recomend Sturgis one week before the crowd hit's. Still lot's of folk's to talk to but motel room's are $100 per day cheaper! Some vendor's are already there and selling run shirt's, road's are not nearly as crowded. I'm a babysetter, I worry about all those that are with me. Fewer bike's, less worry! To keep this on the LapBand side, I started my Pre-op diet a week ago and was having cramps all night last night. Lower belly, lower back & leg cramps, anyone experience this in pre-op diet??? I use to buy banana's for the potaseum to help but there not on my diet. I've gone from eating anything and everything to 500-565 calories a day. Breakfast - 8oz Protein shake lunch - 8oz Protein shake dinner - Steak or chicken w/vegie & salad I started Jan 16th just to get use to it, I'm actually suppose to start today. I have read and re-read the info given me but I need a meal planner I guess. Was wondering if anyone knew if I was lacking something in the diet to cause the cramping??? ANY INPUT would greatly be appriciated! Y'all have a good day, Steve

    Hello KS Bandsters

Hey KCbigguy, I believe we spoke over in the "Men's Room" before. I live south of KC, I'm still scheduled for Feb. 5th so should be starting my diet tomorrow (Tue) but I started a week ago to see how I would cope. Trust me, it was hard for me! Sunday football without snacks! Caught myself going to the icebox EVERY commercial, just to stand there and stare. I swear I didnt cheat! I'm a leader but this time I need to be a follower. Not sure of what to eat or when. I've got a book that shows EVERYTHING in it and how many carbs, fat etc. I write everything down that I eat. Been averaging 450 - 550 calories a day, like I said it's been hard for me. Good luck on your Quest, Steve

    Banded Bikers II

Greetings from Kansas fellow riders, They changed the home page around and I have to learn where stuff is all over again! "Like I actually knew what I was doing before!" Riding after surgery was one thing I was concerned about, wasnt sure how long it would take to heal. Guess it doesnt really matter, there's snow on the ground so I'll just stay by the fire for now. Carol, congrad's on your bike. San Antonio to Sturgis on a Sporty makes you a member of the Iron Butt Club! Had a guy leave here headed for Sturgis a couple yrs ago (his first long ride), he got to Cheyenne Wy. and traded it in for a bigger bike. Karen, Nice Bike, I'm scheduled for Feb. 5th. Been trying to get a head start on this diet and it's killing me. We've got 3 Harley's sitting around, wife's 98 Sporty, My Ol' 80 Low Rider (couldnt stand to part with her) and a 01 Electra Glide. Bought a new 07 Electra Glide 96", 6 Speed but wasnt impressed at all. Had a chance to sell it so it's gone. Much happier with the 01' Glide, plus I have it fixed up just the way I like it. I've never done Daytona but made it to Sturgis 9 times. I'm not much into crowd's so Sturgis is MUCH better a week before. ALOT more room on the road and not as many amitures. Good Luck to all on your journey, Steve

FLMan, Dane, I said something to my wife earlier about Mexico, first word's were NO WAY! We've been to TJ when my son graduated Marines boot camp. Where we were was dirty to say the least. That's why the negative feedback from her, but I must admit hearing all the post about Mexico I thought the same. Was there a Phyic evaluation? Motel in S.D. surely wasnt included in the price was it? Wed & Thurs in hospital, spent from then on (Sun) at motel, gone 5 days? Feel like sightseeing? They made arrangments for motel and someone to pick you up? Also, I dont speak spanish, is that a problem? Dont mean to be like a lil kid in the back seat, "are we there yet dad!" I just feel like I'm on the hot seat all of a sudden and need to make up my mind. I'm going thru with it, just not sure where! I start my pre-op diet Jan. 22nd if I do it here, wonder how busy they are and could they squeeze me in for the same surgery time??? Guess I'll never know until I pick up the phone! Thanx a million, Steve

My neice is 28, just had a baby (6 mts ago) had lost a good amount of weight on some "super duper" diet and now is mostly all back. I can afford the surgery, she cant. That's why I am feeling guilty about paying so much when I could take both of us to Mexico . . . . . . make any sence??? :pray2: Lost & Confused (Steve)

FLMan / Dane, Congrad's on your surgery, sound's like your coming along great. Hope you meet your Feb. goal. I know there are other's on here that were banded in Mexico along with yourself. My delima is I'm already scheduled for surgery Feb. 5th and am having second thought's. Not about the surgery, about where to have it done. $7,500 vs $16,500 is a hell of a difference and I have a neice that could use the same surgery. Being selfpay I could buy airline ticket's and go to Mexico and get "2 for 1". I like the Dr. I'm scheduled with but not sure what to do. I assume you have a Dr. here to do your fill's? Any pro's or con's regarding Mexico? Did you stay in S.D. and go over day before surgery, do they set all this up? Any info would be very helpful. Thanx, Steve

TheGhOst, Yep, he has the lifesize cutout standing in the corner of his office. When I first seen it my first thought was, now that's strange! But I had already talked to him for about a half hour after the seminar so knew "kinda" what I was in for, he's a super nice guy. He ride's Harley's also (3 of them) so we hit it off pretty good. He told me about his "custom bike" and I told him that was a sign he was making to much money! The girl's banded in Topeka, did they have a problem having him do their fills? Was this something they had set up "before" their surgery? I'm self pay also and for what I'm paying I can buy the airline tickets and take my neice to Mexico and have both of us done. I just never checked into having fill's done. Wasnt sure another Dr. would mess with it . . . . . . My date is Feb. 5th so I'm shopping for "all the right stuff". Found GNC has whey Protein in 8 flavor's. Bought the banana Cream and Cookies & Cream last night. Sampled both with Water and skim milk, either way is very good, just not sure 8oz is gonna fill me up during the pre-op diet. Guess that's where the willpower comes in again! Good Luck to all the "Kansas Krew"

Alright, how about a lil help from the KS/MO bunch. I'm starting my two week pre-op diet next week and need to know what's good and what's not. Went to GNC today and it was the girl's first day so she was no help at all. Wally World has some stuff but when you dont know what your after . . . . . . . I've read about the whey Protein powder, is this something you can add to food also??? Would like to try different thing's to see what I like and what to avoid. Any help would be appriciated!

    For Just Us Guys

Alright here goes, finally made time to go to WalMart to get some of the things I thought I might need to get this show on the road. As I dont do the grocery shopping, I really had no idea where to find the "diet corner". I didnt have a list with me, just winging it, trying to remember what I had read on here. I had no idea there were a million different kind's of Crystal Light. I didnt find protien bars or drinks that sounded familure. Then some lady told me to look in Pharmacy. I found more there but then wasnt sure which one was the right one. So now I'm back here TRYING to find what it is that I need, a list of some sort, what's good and what's not. I read on here "somewhere" about "unflavored protien powder"??? Also stopped by GNC, found the 100% WHEY Protien powder, but once again wasnt sure. So I'm headed back to read a bunch of other post and try an find what I'm lookin for. Anybody buying in bulk and where if so??? If I'm going to do this just as well save a little money where ya can. Wife is going to "diet" along with me! Take Care, Steve

Pizzaman, Glad to hear your feeling better, at least I'll know when I get to your stage that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. I've really tried to watch what I've been eating, trying to get myself ready for the pre-op diet next week (22nd). Not lookin forward to it but ya gotta take the bad with the good! Keep me post as what to expect. We already know the good lookin nurse's are out! Keep up the good work on the weight loss, sound's like your ahead of schedule, good job! Steve
