Well my pain was alright. I mean I knew I had surgery, and I was glad I was in the hosiptal overnight to get some meds, but to tell you the truth when I went home the next morning, we went to get my pain meds at the pharmacy, and they did not have it, and wouldn't until the next day. They gave me "free" liquid (regular) tynolnol (can't spell), and that is what I used until my pain med came in the next day. I think I took one dose, :tired and I put the rest down the drain. I was back to work in 3 days (I had a sit down job), but I would never recommend it to anyone, I got tired. But as for pain, not bad, my migrains are worse :phanvan Remember that everyones pain level is different. Suzan

    Dr's in Virginia

Hi all, I had an opprotunity to meet with a wonderful young lady who is looking to have the lap band done. She and her husband are moving to Virginia in 2 weeks. He is in the service and she really wants to band done, however I am having a hard time to locate any Dr's down there. I was wondering if anyone knows of any or know where I can find out for her that would be great. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Suzan

    Can you loose 100 pounds?

Yes it is possible, and I believe others have said it everyone is different, and to listen to the band. I believe using my band as a tool, and I never thought I would lose 100 pounds, never 157 pounds so far...and will keep going. Good luck Suzan

    B 12 way down

Hi all, My PCP just called me and said that my B 12 is very very low, almost not there. She told me to take 1000 mg of B 12 a day. She told me it could be my food intake is low or that since the B 12 is made in the stomach that the band may be causing the lack of production. Has anyone else had this happen:confused: . I take my Flinstones, but guess it is not enough. Any suggestions would be helpful.:clap2: Thanks so much Suzan

    Visit to PCP

Hi all, I went to my PCP because of mirgrans, and she had noticed that my weight loss has slowed down, 1 pound in 3 weeks. I let her know that it will take longer now, because I have lost alot already, (I was her first lab band patient, so she is learning from me). But she asked me how many calories I am eating in a day. I let her know if I averaged it out I may be eating a total of 700 to 800 cal. per day. Well she told me that I should be eating at least 1000 calories a day for my metablisiom to work. I told her I am using my treadmill 2 miles a day, using my excersie ball, and told her I did my first sit up (I can't remember the last time I did that...never). She informed me that I really need to increase my calorie intake, but I really am having a hard time to do that when I am not hungry. I guess I am asking has anyone else heard of this? I have started up again on my protien drinks, eating protien first and really trying to do it. I know I should go see my diatician again, and most likely will call her next week. I really am reaching for my goal of 170 lbs. and would really like to achieve it. Sorry for rambling on, I just needed to ask that question, does my body need 1000 cals. a day for my metabolize to work? And as I am being honest not getting 1000 cals. a day has just started 2 months ago. I sometimes feel guilty about eating alot. Has anyone else ever felt that way either? Well thanks for listening Suzan
  8. Hi there, My Doctor's office offers 2 support groups a week. I do have to confess I haven't been for awhile, well it seems I have some excuse. I felt very connected when I went, and now I realize now I need to get my butt in gear and go to aleast one a month. Everything will still be waiting for me after I go. Thanks for waking me up Suzan

    Need some advise

Hi All, Well I have a question...I have lost 154 lbs since July 04, and I went from 351 to 197. The question I have is I can notice on my thighs the wrinkly skin, which to me says extra skin, but my abdomin (belly) doesn't have that wrinkly skin look. It looks more like fat, which it is. My husband says it is extra skin, but in my mind there is no extra skin, it's all fat. I try to work on it by doing crunches, but I know it will never go away. I would like to get a TT done, but I would like to get to my goal of 160 lbs. I have been losing real slow, even though I am filled good, and I don't eat bad, but I know it will be coming off much slower I don't know if I will ever reach that goal or not. I am happy with the weight loss so far, and I didn't have this surgery to be a size 4, I am happy I can go into a department store and by 16 pants and x lg shirt. So now I have rambled on long enough, and the question was does the belly look different than thighs with the skin? Thanks so much Suzan

    Something I've Never Done

Jill thank you for letting me know about my typo...it was sopose to be 198 not 298, wonder if that is something I am so use to, I just did that...LOL
  14. Hi all, I wanted to let you all know about something I am doing that I have NEVER done. I am going on a airplane!!!!! I know this may sound wierd for some, but at 351 lbs before, I never wanted to do that, but at 198 lbs I am ready. I am flying from Maine to Indiana to see my best friend. I haven't seen her since my surgery July 2004 when she came up to be there for my surgery. The funny thing is she doesn't know I am coming . Her husband is picking me up at the airport and then I will arrive to see her. I am going without my husband, or kids. My husband is very supportive, and I wanted to always do something special when I finially hit under 200 pounds, and my husband said go for it, go and enjoy youself. I am just so happy. I am leaving Thursday, and returning Monday. I will most likley have anxiety and be really nervous, but I am going to get a new book to read on the plane...any suggestions, I like non fiction. Well I have rambled on long enough, thank you all for your support. Suzan
