Hi everyone! I am from Dover, DE and having bypass surgery on Wednesday with Dr. Singh from CHRIAS. I went through the Bayhealth Bariatric program and they were wonderful! I started my journey in April with my first seminar. I am so glad to have had the time to attend nutrition meetings and support group. If anyone is interested, there is a support group mtg at Bayhealth the first Wed evening each month at 5:30pm. Two more days!! Hopeful for a good experience. I will post later this week!!

Unflavored protein advise

Another good brand is Nectar. They even have flavors like iced tea that mixes clear and aren't milky. -
Unflavored protein advise

It does not have any protein taste at all. It provides 27g per scoop. I use one scoop with 16oz water, 2 squirts of Maxwell houses iced coffee drops (similar to Mio) and a few ice cubes and shake it up. I usually make it first thing in the morning and let it sit in the fridge while I get ready for work. It's the only way I get my protein in first thing in the morning since I'm not a breakfast eater. -

Yes! I like Unjury unflavored protein powder mixed in my iced coffee. It dissolves well with no lumps. -
Hey everyone! I have been a forum 'stalker' for several months now, but never posted. I began my pre-op process back in April and my last NUT appt is Sept 1. I am scheduled for final PC doc appt on Sept 10th, then my pre-op visit with the surgeon is week of Sept. 14th. As of now, I am "penciled in" for surgery the week of Oct. 5th. I am very excited to see the light at the end of the tunnel....what a long process of doctor clearances and appointments!! Half way through my process I had to switch surgeons, which was a blessing in disguise. My new surgeon has recommended RNY Bypass instead of Sleeve. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea and borderline diabetes. After much research and reading and even a few youtube videos, I realize that I have metabolic syndrome and SOOO ready to fix this!! Recently I have had pain in my feet that really slow me down. And started noticing a 'clicking' in my right knee when I walk. So my body is telling me that it is definitely time to change! I do have one question.....how much time off of work are you all expecting to take? My surgeon suggests 3-4 weeks. I have an office job and sit in front of a computer most of the day, and have the ability to pack my meals for the day, so I was hoping to only take 3wks including my hospital stay. MV

DE- Dover BP Local Support Group

How many people attend this support group meeting? I started attending the monthly meetings at Kent General as a pre-op. Always looking to meet others who have been through the process.
