    Milestones

Wonderful feeling isn't it. I started at a 20/22 and depending on the cut wear sizes 11-14. My work pants are 11/12 and jeans are curvy/skinny 13/14. Big boost to self esteem.

    Medical card

Keep in mind that not all businesses will honor it. DH nor I have tried using ours yet. We either share a meal or bring home leftovers. If I order take out (like Applebee's carside to go) I just order a kids entree for myself.
  3. I'm an ice water kind of person. Juice is too sweet. Don't like coffee or tea, or flavor drops. And have sworn off soda for good. DH is different. He dislikes plain water but will drink it with flavor drops (Mio, Dadani, Crystal Light, etc.). He will also drink a few Diet Pepsi/Coke or Coke Zeros a week. He also drinks coffee mixed with a protein drink daily. He also drinks a protein drink or two a day.

    Cold feet? Literally-feet

I too have cold feet, hands, etc. occasionally I wear socks or slippers to bed. Heck last week I wore my bathrobe and slippers to bed I was so cold, lol.
  6. Don't beat yourself up over the 80 pounds. That's a great number! Keep in mind everyone losses at different rates as their bodies are different. I too am almost 6 months. Surgery was 7/21. HW 268, SW 248, CW 176. 92 down.

    Clothes

I think many of us struggle with this due to past experiences of regaining the weight. We recently moved cross country so I used it as a reason why I needed to get rid of my too big clothes. I did however keep one pair of my favorite work slacks in size 18 (that were becoming too small when I had surgery), a size 2xl blouse, my favorite size 18 dress that at that time was too small to fit, and a pair of size 18 shorts that I fit into along my downsizing journey. I was scared to part with my clothes as I'd had many for years and were made well. It was easier to keep a few items that I don't want to fit into again while parting with the rest. Plus by giving them to two of my girl friends they got new additions to their wardrobes

    Shoe size?

I haven;t really noticed any changes in my feet size other than them being bonier and my toes being a little less plump. This said, I wore a pair of Keen sandals two weeks ago that I haven;t worn in months and had to tighten them because they were stretched out in the width. I don;t expect a big change n my feet size. I've been wearing size 10 shoes since 6th grade. Sadly my 10yo daughter has my feet.

    Hungry after Vitamins

My Biotin makes me sick if not taken with food. The multi Vitamins are often fine without, but since I take them in the morning I often taken them around the time that I have breakfast. I've noticed that my problem tends to come from consuming too much Water when I swallow them which leaves me feeling crummy for a few minutes.

    Straws?

I've used a straw since I was a few weeks out. I got in more liquids that way. You just have to learn that you cannot take as big/long of sips. That's the roughest part. If I'm at home I don't sure a straw, but at work I do and can sip all day.

    Food network

Waving hand as a food Network junkie (certain shows). Love Unwrapped, but have to be careful about the topic because head hunger is real. Watch baking competitions and those make me crave sweets. Then I remember that I can't cook do we're good, lol. Diners, Drive ins and Dives. Yum. I do think it'd be interesting to have a show that focus on smaller portions. More Proteins, fewer carbs. This is where someone needs to come out with their own YouTube cooking show. If only I were creative and could cook... My show would be pretty boring: -costco meatballs. Pour small amount of marinade. Nuke them and place in single serving containers. -chicken breast, season, cook, eat -steam in bag veggies. A whole bag will last you a week, lol Honestly though, I'd like to see real dishes that one could make while feeding the rest of your family.

    What am I doing wrong?

Remember stalls are normal. They happen. Sometimes we lose fast, other times slowly. I'm in week three of a stall. I'm bad and weigh myself daily, but instead of being frustrated remind myself what I have achieved as well as the fact that even though the scale might not be going down my clothes are fitting better than they have in almost twenty years. Hang in there.

    Running

Remember to hydrate before and after running. You might consider adding a Protein snack between your post run shake and dinner. Good luck on your training. I've been running 5ks and 10ks a few years now, with 2 races post surgery. Those two races plus training runs are so much easier! Last weekend I ran 6+ miles, bested my best 10k by almost 15 minutes and only walked a few minutes out of the entire hour-ten run. Felt amazing!

    Post-Op Meatballs

If I have time I make my own meatballs, they're tastier than Costcos. But I bought a big Costco bag and put 5 in a Tupperware container for lunch/snack. I then add a tablespoon or so of a marinade and nuke them. Takes me an hour to go through 3-4 meatballs and I then have the leftover as snack later. Tastes great IMO. High protein and keeps my carbs down.

    Starting to feel bulimic...

I felt that way for the first few weeks. Nothing was staying down. Slowly it improved. I'm now 5 months out and only throw up if I eat too fast or too many dense carbs at once. Focus on what stays down, try to improve your intake daily.
  16. Due to the limited daylight this time of the year my exercise hasn't been what I'd like it to be. I enjoy walking or running, but it's dark when I get up and get home from work, so I run on the weekends. During the week I work a desk job, so I choose to park in a parking lot further away from my building to get in my steps. I also take the stairs a few times a day (restroom, fill my water bottle, to curb boredom). I try to be intentional in making sure I don't sit all day. Once daylight returns I hope to be out running before work again.

    Short Sleevers?

I'm 5'4" and started my journey at 268 pounds. I was sleeved in July 21, 15 and am now down to 178, 90 pounds gone! I will be honest and say that my thighs jiggle from the lose skin, as do my arms. My tummy is looking much better, but has its own stretch marks and scaring from 4 pregnancies. The weight loss can be seen in my hands, my collar bones, wrists, toes, etc as they are all slimming down. My boobs have sadly packed their bags and left me. My doctor asked me to set a realistic goal, I said how about 150? He was fine with that. I can;t envision myself being "skinny", anything under 150. If it happens and I look healthy then so be it. If it doesn't and I'm maintaining it's ok too. I'm enjoying the novelty of wearing medium shirt sizes, and jean sizes that I haven't seen since the 90s.

    Jeans shopping

What a great feeling. DH has been riding that wave too

    another cool yet weird NSV.

That's awesome! DH and I were both sleeved this past summer and have found some awesome deals at Goodwill. Secretly becoming a shopping addiction, lol.
  21. I was sleeved back in July at Rockwood in Spokane (lived on the Palouse at the time). Rawlings preformed my surgery and Spitz my husbands. Learned early on to keep in contact with my case manager to make sure everything was progressing. Both of us had the 5am check in for the first surgeries of the day. Poor DH sat in recovery for like 4 hours before a recovery room came available. Thank goodness for puzzles and my iPad, lol.

    Need dessert ideas!

My family enjoys when I make jello parfait. Not with whipped cream on top, but solidified in when it was hot. Recipe is usually on the box, but can sub sugar free jello and light cool whip. You can make it in a bowl or individual plastic cups.
  23. I just started a new job and have to go greater distances to get my water, so I haven't been drinking as much as I should. What I do is keep a tall water bottle on my desk for all day dipping and try to refill it when half empty; usually 2-3 times per day, also encourages moving. At home I have a cup with me or on the kitchen counter and sip when I start to get bored, hungry, thirsty, or walk into the room. It's there, it's s visual reminder to drink. If j have it with me it's better to put water in my mouth than junk food.
  24. For the first few weeks my abdomen was swollen and badly bruised. All part of the healing process.

    Dizzy- 5 weeks out

I experience this due to a blood pressure medication that I'm taking to control my migraines. It makes my normal bp low and leaves me feeling dizzy when standing from being bent over or lying down. I just have to remind myself that I have to do it slower than I want. Usually passes quickly, just don't like the feeling.
