I think the 50 pound mark was when I purchased a few items of clothing. A new pair of jeans and a few tops. At the 85 pound mark I bought new work pants, jeans, a few sweaters and <gasp> underwear! I'm just shy of 100 pounds lost and already need new jeans and work pants. My tops are M and L and I'm finding the M to be a better fit. Of course I find that to be funny as the last time I was 170 pounds I was a size 14 and wore L/XL tops. Of course depending on the brand and cut my current bottoms are sizes 11-4, so I'm anxious to see if my work pants will go to a 8-10. I look in the mirror or down at my legs and can't believe it as they are big and jiggly. But I'm ecstatic for the loss none the less.

I was around the three month mark. I usually stick with wine, but on occasion will have a mixed drink. I keep the quantity low as I get buzzed very quick. I am also aware that when having a filly drink that I'm consuming sugars and carbs that I don't need. So I use the reminder as a deterrent from having them often, or for finishing/nursing the drink.

How long til I can drive?
naturegirl replied to zabbakaye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that I drove after I had been home for 3 days. I made sure to not venture too far from home as I found myself dizzy and didn't want that to impair my driving. -
Premier Strawberry Cream Shake Problems
naturegirl replied to ssflbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never thought to contact the company. I just end up drinking the first half and tossing the remainder. I guess I've always thought of it as "sludge" at the bottom. -
Breast implants- considering them
naturegirl replied to naturegirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
No worries Scamp. It's something that I think about and then get too scared and put to the side. It's something that I have to work up the courage to do as I anticipate the pain to be much more intense than what WLS was. But for me the idea of boobs is mixed. I've enjoyed jogging with less bounce, but then look at myself in the mirror naked or with a bra and don;t care for the deflated skin. I guess it's a matter of self confidence and rediscovering who I am. I'm slowly seeing myself as a slimmer version of the old me, and boobs need to be a part of it. First world problems, I know. -
Our kids are elementary school aged, but our oldest is overweight for her age, and we have had discussed the need to change her habits because we don't want her to be obese like we were. We're an honest household. Sorry. As yours is an adult you there is nothing wrong IMO about having a friendly conversation about whether or not she's finding activities to keep her busy while i n school. At the very least you;re learning about what she's doing. Now if you want to encourage her to be active you might suggest the two of you sign up for a fun activity like a color run and train "together" for accountability. While you might use it more for your motivation to be healthier, it could be a request for her help to keep you going.

Went from a 42 DD to a 36 C/D. The C fits ok, but too much loose skin. The D fits better. Just this morning I commented to DH that only needing to connect 2 hooks still feels odd. To the poster with the huge rib cage, I'm right there with you

Headache, advice please
naturegirl replied to Amelie2016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have migraines and have had a difficult time with them lately. Every few months it results in me getting a shot of toradol in the rear to break it up. Unfortunately for me since I recently moved across the country, I'm having to tough it out until my new insurance kicks in. Good luck with finding something that works. -
Before and After Pics

I have the Star Wars Dark Side 10k in April. Starting to wish that I had signed up for the 1/2, but that's ok. My goal is to run a half before the year is over. Last year I ran the Tinkerbell 10k and my time was horrible; I was also at my heaviest. This year I'll be (hopefully) down 100+ pounds. Running is so much easier now then it was a year ago. Heck, it's easier now than when I ran my first race, Disney's Expedition Everest Challenge in 2013.

Breast implants- considering them
naturegirl replied to naturegirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks for the responses. I hadn't thought too much about not having enough breast tissue or revisions. It's nice to see that revisions are not rare. I'm thinking that this probably won't happen for at least a year, so I have plenty of time for more research and my weight can stabilize. -
Breast implants- considering them
naturegirl replied to naturegirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Oops. You're right, that does sound painful, lol. -
My husband pointed out Torrid last weekend commenting that I haven't shopped there in ages. My response, "I'm not plus size anymore"

The insertion isn't pleasant but well worth it! My doctor adds a numbing cream for the process. Some cramping may be present but will go away. Being period free has been amazing!

Advice on food while traveling
naturegirl replied to bsmith720's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will usually share an entree with someone or look over the appetizers to see if there is something of interest there. food options that I like are fajitas (you can go without the tortilla), tacos (I just scoop out the insides and eat it), if I order a hamburger I eat it without the bun using a fork and knife. Chili is another option. I will also go with a salad with Protein such as chicken. As for sides I consider the least carbs or offer it to someone else at the table. Good luck with your choices and think about what you will eat. Feel free to pick at your food in order to get at the real item that you want. -
It's an amazing feeling to size down! I too have skinny jeans, something that I never thought I'd wear. Although I went with the skinny cut as they fit better, lol. It's a novelty to not automatically head to the plus size of the store or have a W next to the size. Although I do miss my Lane Byant bras.

Mirena! I've had it for almost 5 years and love it. Works great, this coming from someone who get pregnant on the pill twice.

I don't wear shapewear as I found them too conforming. It was nice to ditch the ones I had when I slimmed down. Instead I wear cami's under my shirts that I tuck in. Helps keep things in place. I still have some budge, but I've come to terms with it. As for bottoms, when I wear sheath dresses I wear a nice pair of thicker tights (Target, Maurices) that sucks in my thighs and tummy roll.

Can I just say that I'm loving all of the analogies! I'm a curvy gal too, always have been. I was the heavy girl who had big calves that were probably equal parts fat and muscle. People would ask me if I was a swimmer because of my broad shoulders. Yep. The charts are frustrating. According to them I should be in the 114-144 range, when I view a healthy range the 150s. As for clothes, my pant waists are once again too large, but thanks to having child birthing hips, a saggy butt, and thick calves I need the larger sizes. So to get pants that actually fit I selected the 13/14 slim boots at Maurices. While my work pants from there are 11/12 and loose. While walking the stairs at work today I looked down at my thigh and thought how huge I am. Body dismorphia at it's finest right? While it might be time to size down, I quickly reminded myself that the 95 pounds lost tell me that I'm not the obese person I once was. Keep at it ladies. Recognize what's healthy for you, and don't focus on what charts tell you.

So What Do I Order @ A Bar?
naturegirl replied to Susysleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't drink too often but when I do I go with wine. If I'm having a frilly drink I unfortunately go with sugary ones that are bad for you. Madori sour, sex on the beach, etc. but one drink lasts me a very long time, esp when paired with a glass of water. -
HELP! Cant stop eating!
naturegirl replied to nn1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Rather than jumping into a debate I'll instead suggest that you push back the additional Snacks. See if you can wait an additional 10 minutes and perhaps it'll pass. Otherwise have good snacks on hand that have Protein. I do have snacks in my office and sometimes get excited about snack time. But I do my best to have healthy snacks. Fruits, veggies, protein like hard boiled eggs or peppered beef Jerky. Plus lots of ice Water and the walk to get it -
Mine started to thin and fall out at two months post op. Months 3-5 were the worst!!!! At 6 months things have slowed and I'm seeing tiny hair growth. Unfortunately it's frizzy and sticks out everywhere, but it's growth I take biotin and vitamins daily. I've also increased my protein intake as my body has allowed me to eat more.

Compression Garments
naturegirl replied to LeslesLosingIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't wear compression garments as I found them snug years ago. I do however wear a cami under my shirts which is tucked in and helps smooth things out. I've also found that wearing thicker tights under my dresses does a great job of sucking in the thigh flab/loose skin. -
Any problems with Salad?
naturegirl replied to ididit34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6 mo post op and can eat salads just fine. I find that I can fill up quickly on lettuce and such, so I need to make sure I get protein in first. At least I'm getting in fruits and veggies (peppers, onions, peas, olives, mushrooms, cucumbers, etc), cheese, and proteins (chicken and egg) with it. -
