    :-(

Great suggestions from @@jobillandjosh I have been eating the Dannon, adding PB2 to some things, and adding unflavored Isopure to my liquid phase choices too.

Maybe consider self-pay so you don't have to go through hoops? Good luck!

Any Oct 6 Sleevers out there?

@@hollybower I still have 7 days before I can get to the soft food stage to try soft fruits and veggies, but I am not considering baby food. I am gonna use the real thing. Good to know they are enjoyable to you and that they are an option to consider for quick and fast.

    2nd week food options

Make popsicles from clear Protein drinks. They are nice to chew. Strained Cream of Wheat or oatmeal SF pudding w/light soy or almond milk Not the most creative, but safe and should offer some variety. Good luck! I was sleeved last Weds night and I am in this liquid only phase for another week too.
  7. Sorry you have to get back to regular life so quickly. Hopefully when you are not in school, you can rest and heal. I would drink your Protein drinks and add a variety of items as suggested above like high protein, low fat, low sugar greek yogurt, creamy Soups like low sodium butternut squash, clear Isopure and SF popsicles, etc. I know that I have prescription pain meds or I can take Tylenol for pain every 6 hours or so. You can do this.

    Surgery day!

@@pr_pitbullgrl I agree with sticking to the plan. I was sleeved a week ago tonight (10/7). I am on day 3 of 10 of an "all liquid" plan (after 4 days of "clear only" liquids). I feel good. My stomach makes weird noises at times, but I am in little pain except for a couple of incision spots. I can drink 2-3 oz. comfortably. I have had a bowel movement which helped. Today I have to get some blood drawn (labs) before my 1 week out appointment with my surgeon on Friday. I have been weighing my self every couple of days and I am down from 196.x on surgery day to 187.x this morning, so should be hitting 10 lbs down tomorrow. Keep up the good work.

    Clear protein shakes?

I think if you use a nice fruity flavor you can substitute some of the water in the jello with the clear Isopure. Sounds yummy!

    Clear protein shakes?

I did not have a pre-op diet to follow, but post-op, i had to do Clear liquids for 4 days, and liked Isopure Green Tea Lemon and I am using the Isopure unflavored powder in my low-sodium clear broths (chicken, beef, chicken, miso, etc). I also put the Isopure unflavored powder in my sugar-free Jello. Not bad.

    Nutrition plan share away.

Hello. I am 5 days post op too (sleeved on 10/7). I am following the Kaiser plan given to me by my nutritionist before and again given to me at the hospital before my discharge. You can print out the PDF's from the West Los Angeles Kaiser site online https://xnet.kp.org/misg/bariatrics/after.html They are very helpful and include shopping lists and portions to get 60-75g of Protein through this liquids only stage we are in for about 10 more days. Good luck!

Any Oct 6 Sleevers out there?

@@Ragedddy Thank you. I can't tell you how much the 3 months mandatory health education classes I took with Kaiser helped me see the error of my eating and sedentary ways. I just started walking 30 minutes a day and limiting my calories to 1200-1400 a day with healthy, protein rich foods. I consider my self an educated, smart woman, but I was eating out and making poor eating choices. Plus, they weighed us every week and I had to turn in my food logs, and it was embarrassing to me to gain weight or show poor choices on my log. It shamed me to do better.

Any Oct 6 Sleevers out there?

Welcome @Ragedddy. I was sleeved 10/7. I am following a 0-3 day clear liquid and now 4-14 day all liquid diet. On surgery day, I was 196. Today I am 189. YMMV.

    Surgery Monday 10/19- new beginnings

@@BairwithMe I had to do the 3 months of Options classes and lose 10%. I lost the 10% and more. I did not have a pre-op diet from my surgeon. I do have the post-op diet which is posted on the Kaiser West LA site: https://xnet.kp.org/misg/bariatrics/after.html I also had to have all my Vitamins before hand because they expected me to start them the day I went home.

    Homeopathic nausea relief

In the hospital I had nausea, and they put meds in my IV. Once I learned how to use my breathing exercises and how to get myself to burp, the nausea was no longer an issue, so I do not take anything. I am allowed only liquids right now, so decaffeinated ginger tea is on hand just in case I overdo my liquids and get a wave of nausea.

    Surgery Monday 10/19- new beginnings

Good luck! It's not easy, but I must say I did better than I thought I would. Get some pre-made Protein drinks, clear and non-clear too. The day I went home, they still wanted me to hit the 45-60g protein mark with clear only. I could not wear my own pj's/bathrobe because of the iv in my hand, so I just used the hospital gown the whole time, including my walks. My hospital had several pairs of the non-stick socks for my use and also toiletries. I would suggest a heating pad. Helped with my bloated stomach and painful incisions, plus the hospital room was freezing. I tried to sleep mostly, vs. watching TV or phone or reading. Work on your breathing exercises to help you clear out phlegm and trying to burp. The pressure on my chest was rough, but once I got the burp out, it felt so much better. I had to use the end of a toothbrush several times to get myself to gag and burp. Not glamorous, but it worked. I never threw up or had gas in the hospital, though I tried just to get rid of the pressure.

  20. @@BairwithMe Hello. Of course everyone has a different plan to follow, so I will tell you mine. On the day of surgery, I weighed in at the hospital at 196. From June 16 - Oct 7, during a supervised weight loss program with SoCal Kaiser, I went from 225 to that 196 (29 lbs). On days 0 - 3, day 0 being the day I came home from the hospital (Oct 8 - Oct 11), I was on Clear liquids only. I lost 5 lbs., from 196 to 191. On day 4 (Oct 12), I did not weigh myself, but this was the first day of all liquids (clear or not). I also had my first bowel movement and I hit over 60 grams of Protein. Today is day 5 for me (Oct 13), I weighed myself and it shows 189.0. In total, I am down 7 lbs. from surgery day, following a liquid only diet. I will continue to be liquid only for 9 more days, then soft foods can be added.
  21. Good luck! Don't forget breathing exercises and try whatever you can to burp!

How old are you? I have noticed that since hitting my 40's that I have been more forgetful. But this is before my surgery.

Wondering if I'm doing something wrong

Are you aiming for 80g of Protein and hitting it? You have not had a bowel movement yet? Sounds like you are on a stall. Consider restarting with an all liquid high protein day or two. This will pass.
