    vitamins options

I cannot see the bottle very clearly, but it looks like Celebrate multi-Vitamins. That is a good brand, but I think you have to take 3 a day and supplement.

Miserable in need of some great help

I too was sleeved on 10/7. Are you taking anti-acid meds? Are you burping and gassing regularly? When you burp or gas, do you feel relief in your chest area? Have you been having bowel movements? I am only on liquids, not food at this time, so most of my Protein is coming in the form of Premier Protein drinks and Isopure clear protein drinks and a yogurt daily.

    Few Questions

Are you taking a prescribed anti-acid? It sounds like it might be acid reflux?

    I feel defeated

I am way behind you, but are you getting in at least 800 calories and getting in at least 30 minutes of exercise? You could just be at a plateau/stall which will rectify itself.
  5. I was watching Dr. Oz (I love him!) this week and he said to aim for 30g per meal. His guest, a weight loss doctor said 25-30g.

    Sleeved today 10/15/15

Wow, you are already on your phone after surgery. Good for you! The nausea sucks. I did everything I could, had them give me meds, tried to gag with my toothbrush, tried to throw up, etc., to get the feeling off my chest. Sounds like you are doing great. I did not have anything to drink from 8PM on 10/6 to 8AM on 10/8 and it was SO HARD. No ice, no Water, nothing. I thought I was gonna die, but I survived like you! Keep up the good work.

    Pre-op drinks

Pre-op's vary so much. I did not have one because I lost weight over the course of three months in a supervised weight loss program. In the program, we did try various Protein powders and pre-mixed Protein drinks so that we can can an idea of tastes and sizes etc. Follow your doctor's plans, it does not seem so bad, one week what you listed above. Crystal light has a green light starting the day you come home. Some people say they cannot drink Water like they used to. It will all be hit or miss after the surgery. Some things you used to like, you won't, others you will. Be willing to try different things and pay attention to protein amounts since that is the most important thing to look at in your liquid phase. Good luck!

    Struggling

Will your job let you get an advance on your sick leave/vacation? Do you have a disability plan at work you don't know about? Do you belong to a credit union where you can take out a small loan at lower interest? Credit card advance? Get only what you need to pay off bills that could hurt your credit or charge you a crazy late fee.

    Protein shakes

Are you on MyFitnessPal? You can see what I eat there. I am not pushing it. I am staying on the prescribed menu by my NUT. The stuff ain't the best tasting, but its tolerable and I try to mix it up a bit, adding PB2 powder to the Premier vanilla, adding some cinnamon to the butternut squash soup, etc. Trying stuff warm, trying it cold, etc. With the two Premier drinks, I can get 60g of Protein right there. (22oz liquid) Then adding the yogurt, it's an additional 12g. protein (5 oz liquid) The half a bottle of clear Isopure is 20oz protein. (10 oz liquid) I add Water to try and get my total liquid intake to 64oz (10 oz liquid) Creamy Soups are negligible protein unless I add powdered Isopure. (4 oz liquid) Tea (4 oz liquid) Prune (diluted) (4 oz liquid) Various sips of water throughout day (8 oz liquid) This is pretty much my goal daily.

    Hasn't hit me yet...

Welcome home. Breathing exercises and walking help with the burping and gas. Gas X strips too! I did not hit those liquid and Protein levels the first days home. I tried and noticed my urine was brownish showing some dehydration, but as the days went on, I could drink more and chose only clear protein Isopure with some broth with added powdered, unflavored Isopure. Just do what you can those first days home, don't push it. After day 4 home, moving to Protein drinks and other non-Clear liquids like low sodium Soups, yogurts, cream of wheat, will help. Good luck!

    Surgery day!

@@pr_pitbullgrl Ok, so you are like me, on liquids til day 14 and then soft foods. I cannot wait! Pre-op, I tried my best to not eat and drink at the same time. I just did it unconsciously. So having to stop drinking 30 minutes before and after each meal is going to be hard because of habit. I also did not chew my foods 30 times before swallowing. I have to get better at this.

    Surgery day!

Sounds like you are doing great! I did my labs yesterday and my post-op appointment is tomorrow. On your plan, how long was your pureed food phase? What did it consist of? I know I am on full liquids through day 14, then I am on soft foods from days 15 - 30. I am hoping that I can be successful trying to balance drinking and eating/chewing. I did not do a great job of that pre-op.

    Protein shakes

I tend to take a long time drinking mine. I tend to drink half in 1 - 2 hours. Then I will drink the rest later in the day. I do get through two of the 30g, 11oz Premier Protein drinks per day. When I get to my limit, I feel like a could burp or gag, so I know my stomach must be close to full. I am also taking sips of Water, Soup, tea and clear Isopure, as well as biting on my SF popsicles throughout the day spread out. I am tracking my input on myfitnesspal. I am one week, one day post-op.

My holy grail product for DRY skin!

@@OutsideMatchInside I have tried their face line and it is too thin and did not stop the flaking. I live in a desert climate, so maybe that is why a cream works well on my face.

    Regret surgery

Any doubt's I had in my mind were mostly because people kept telling me I did not need it, I look fine, I can lose it on my own. I am only 8 days post-op now but so far I do not regret it yet.

    Newly Sleeved!

@@helladoll Chasing a toddler must be tough. I was told NOT to pick up anything more than 10lbs for the 2 weeks after surgery. I don't know how you are doing this (and lots of stairs!)! I hope you have lots of support and help. Just don't push it, take it slow and rest when you can. It's been so hot in Southern California, hope you have been in the cool AC.

    Anyone from southern california

@@HapyTrls I was happy with the West LA Facility. The pre-op, op and post-op nurses were great. The floors and rooms clean. I had a large room and they allowed my mom to stay in the room with me in a chair that turned into a bed. The doctor, Dr. Casillas, was very personable before and after the surgery with my family (even though it was late, after 8PM) when he came out to tell them how I faired. I would recommend it as a good place to have the surgery. I think the other choice is Harbor City. I live near Pasadena and BOTH are far from me. I wish they had the surgery at Sunset!

    Extreme temperatures?

I have not heard of this. I have been drinking/sipping/eating all temps, but nothing burning hot.

    Too Good to be true?

It sounds like you are doing what it is expected and this is the result. Great job. Protein - check Fluids - check I was also sleeved last Weds., 10/7, and have lost 9 lbs since surgery day. We all lose differently! Keep up the good work!

    Newly Sleeved!

Welcome @helladoll. That is a hell of a weight loss in 6 days! I hope you continue to heal well and the pain subsides quickly. Keep trying to get that Protein in. I was sleeved a week ago tonight. So far so good except for some incision pain when I rise from sitting or lying down. I walked for about 15-30 minutes tonight, the first day it was not 100 degrees outside and I got tired quickly. Just taking it day by day.

    Surgery day!

I have not gone back to work yet, but I know it is a matter of time before I am tempted. It has been safe inside my house, but I did have to cook dinner for my family yesterday - whole wheat spaghetti with ground turkey and shredded zucchini. I somehow survived it. I did put a cup of it in the freezer for the future. Stay strong. I have 7 days to get through before soft foods. We can do this.

    I gave up today

I think self-pay is probably a nice tax deduction too. You should be able to deduct the medical expenses charged and transportation expenses to and from your appointments/surgery, if you itemize. You just need a doctor saying it was medically necessary and then save all your receipts. Note I am not a CPA.
