What can I do with...string cheese?
HopeandAgony replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
On special occasions I cut cheese sticks in halves, dip them in raw whipped eggs, roll them in a mix of grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. I freeze them for about 45 minutes. Then drop them in hot oil for about a minute or two. Best no carb "breaded" cheese sticks ever. My kids love them. Three weeks out and can eat four ounces easily..normal?
HopeandAgony replied to provenzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon progressed me thru food stages quickly and I was concerned when I could eat 2 eggs or 4 Oz of cottage cheese at around that same time. Tuna and chicken were the same. Surgeon had no issues with it at all. I am now 3 months out and my limit is still that 4 Oz and I am perfectly fine with that. And it depends on food. Eggs for some reason fill me up where those 2 eggs are probably pretty close to pushing my limit. I don't like to eat til I feel restriction but sometimes it creeps up on me even if I'm eating the same amount I've eaten before. The further you get from surgery the more you'll figure it all out. Good luck and welcome to the losers bench! Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -

Family Medical Leave Act question
HopeandAgony replied to Careysgirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You can have multiple FMLA certifications at one time (that expire after 1 year). Each certification should cover one specific illness. Your 12 weeks are per calendar year, and accumulate for all the certifications. For example if you missed 2 weeks due to stress, and you recertify for this surgery, you have 10 more weeks of coverage under FMLA. If a full 12 months advances from the time off due to stress, the days will start to fall off and your FMLA accumulation will replenish (for any current FMLA cases you have open & active). Bottom line is you need a new FMLA certification for this surgery as it wont be covered under your one you got for stress. Hope that helps. Sent from my SM-N910P using BariatricPal -

I've also noticed when I am on the time line it doesn't seem to be marking the posts I've already read as read. It shows them again even if nobody else has posted, even after I refresh it. They remain bold, as if I've not read them. Sent from my SM-N910P using BariatricPal -
Is anyone not taking reflux meds post-VSG?
HopeandAgony replied to kinkymoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved November 16th and have never taken a PPI. I've never had any issues or reasons to take one. -
This exactly. I lost 14 lbs in the 2 weeks before my surgery. If I can do that you can easily loss 10 lbs or more in the next month. Focus on reducing your sugar and carbs. Eat more Protein. Use Protein shakes as Meal Replacements. Don't give up. You CAN do this.

My surgeon said it was normal. It's just healing. Scar tissue forming and separating with movement. -
Continued pain- left side
HopeandAgony replied to slam45's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know the pain you are describing. It subsided for me in week 5 post op. It can be excruciating but the compress belt was a life saver for me. Keep wearing it and hang in there. You will wake up one day and it'll suddenly be gone. Mine never returned. Very odd but I'll never forget the burning tearing feeling. -
Following. Gobble gobble.

I just started watching it while I did my 5.5 miles this morning. I held my hand weights the entire time (which is a first) because I was so engrossed.

HopeandAgony replied to BairwithMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jealous. I'm stuck at 204 for a while now. -
My husband is following my eating pattern with me and has been since pre op. He has made this journey so much easier for me. It's fantastic to have that support.

How do you stop small treats from turning into daily bad habits?
HopeandAgony replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well. I kicked the nightly peanut butter to the curb after seeing my own words with everyone else's on Dubs nut post. I guess for me that means acknowledging the problem, evaluating that it's not a good thing, and acting on what is right for me and my goal. So basically, awareness. -
I would guess 22 to 24. Sometimes they say on the bottom of the cup.

I wish people would stop acting like self rightous keepers of the internet forum and realize that people do have the right to ask questions. Regardless of how many times they've been asked. If you don't want to weigh in, then move along. The forum wasn't set up for only what you deem to be important discussion in this moment of time. So there's a search function. Well holy hell. That would mean that nobody should ever ask any question ever, anywhere. Because I'm sure all the questions you've ever asked have been answered somewhere on google. Right?!?! Only makes sense...And I would wish certain dramatically inclined individuals here would tone it down a notch and stop jumping at people's throats over the slightest perceived offense.I am only saying this to you. Because your cocky smug attitude is less than desirable and this is the umpteenth time I've seen you go this route.
-
You poor thing. What is done is done now. Start looking for ways of how you can respond if need be to anyone she tells "if they ask". Look at it this way also, if they go ask your sister instead of asking you they were never your friend in the first place. Simply write them off and move on. Big hugs.

I can't wrap my head around this! Half hour later and I'm still thinking it thru. How does a stomach stretch if you follow the program. I did a lot of research too and came across people who gained weight back, but they also admitted they fell off the program and found ways to eat around their sleeve (i.e. ice cream). OP hasn't, at least not long term anyway per her above post. OP. Please keep us updated. Did your radiologist make this statement off of comparison to a prior image of your sleeve?
