Water weight after lap gall bladder removal
HopeandAgony replied to tfarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. Weight gain after surgery is normal due to all the fluids they pump you full of. Give it a few days. -
Weird breath and taste?
HopeandAgony replied to girlygirl969696's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are most likely in ketosis if you aren't consuming carbs. It's normal. I'm in it current while doing the pre op diet. Hang in there, you'll get use to it. -
November Sleevers
HopeandAgony replied to brittneywlsj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still fighting this headache. Starting to wonder if it's a sinus issue. I am also battling stomach issues right now. I've started adding fiber to my protein shakes and hopefully that'll help out. I am down 11 lbs since starting the pre op diet. -
Anyone else have a surgery date of November 13?
HopeandAgony replied to Ritcheycop's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm the 16th! I am 6 days into my pre op diet. I have lost 11 lbs during pre op so far but I am struggling with headaches and diarrhea. Haven't cheated though. High weight 265. Current weight 245. 5'4". 38 years old. -

The Tylenol & propel seems to have taken the edge off but it's lingering in the background which makes me feel "fuzzy". I didn't really consider myself a bad eater before this. I didn't drink a lot of caffeine so this has definitely caught me off guard. If today isn't the magical day I will be calling the office tomorrow to ask about something to help. I normally have a high pain tolerance so this is really tough. -

I stopped on my way to work and got some propel and extra strength Tylenol. My head is seriously hurting with no let up. Still have stuck to the diet though. Hopefully this will be the last day. I've been searching this website for info on this headache issue and most people say it stops day 5. I really hope so. I wasn't a huge caffeine drinker so I'm not sure what is going on. I am also drinking over 100 Oz of water a day. Not sure what else to do! -

Day 4. Can't sleep because I have such a bad headache. This has been 4 days straight. Really need this to let up some... -
I'm sorry you got sick JudeaJordon. I am totally not meaning to sound rude or mean but reading thru this post and following your time line of comments made me laugh a little bit...well a lot. Not because you were sick, but because I felt like I was living it with you!! I am pre op and learning from all of you. Your confidence in eating two tiny eggs, to feeling good, to justifying again they were tiny, to feeling something in your throat, to BAM, throwing up and declaring no eggs ever again. It's so not funny and funny at the same time. I'm sorry!! 1 egg if ever again?

Are you eventually able to eat anything?
HopeandAgony replied to heidikate's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally needed to read this right now. I am on day 3 of my pre op and today was emotionally hard, like I broke up with food today. Like I mentally experienced death of the food I love. Several times today I thought to myself I can't do this. Even saying it I didn't cheat. I just had a melt down with my husband who tried to explain what life could be like if I stick it out. What he explained sounded so good, and what he explained is what you've written. Little blessing received. -
Activity trackers
HopeandAgony replied to Littleoneagain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I LOVE my FitBit HR Charge. One stop shop. Tracks my steps, distance, calories burned, stairs climbed. It also captures my activity. So when my heart rate is increased for an extended period of time it shows me active minutes . Captures my heart rate. Tells me the time. And has a silent alarm that vibrates my wrist in the mornings to wake up. I also can track all my food as well as my water intake in one place. I can record my weight. I love it. The food record allows me to enter basic info to details like protein grams, carbs, calroies etc. Once it's recorded it's always there. Love it! Oh and it also tells me who is calling my phone and vibrates on my wrist. -
Spent the day in the ER ... and now I need suggestions
HopeandAgony replied to WorkinOnMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How far out from surgery are you? I am only pre op, but during my last meeting with my surgeon he explained that pain in that exact spot you describe is common. What it actually is, is scar tissue pulling apart (from your sleeve surgery). It can result at any time, virtually from any random movement that might have stretched you a slightly different way than normal. It can be very painful he said, and can last for days to weeks, but none the less it's common and it's always right there on your left side. It is not cause for concern and doesn't mean your stomach has opened. Could this possibly be your case as well? Any random movement that could have been different and caused you to pull apart scar tissue? -

Our dates are the same. My surgery is the 16th. I am on day 3 of the pre op diet. My pre op diet consists of shake for Breakfast, shake for lunch, and 4oz lean meat and 1/2 cup veggies for dinner. I'm not drinking anything but Water. So far I've finished the last 2 days at about 650 calories, and 100 Oz of water. I'm struggling big time with some funky headache feeling. I haven't cheated though. I am walking 1.5 to 2 miles on my lunch break to keep busy, chewing lots of sugar free gum and chewing ice chips. I am 38, 250lbs, 5,4", female. -
Worried I can't do the pre-op diet!
HopeandAgony replied to Castillo15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I am on day 3. I have zero will power, literally zero. I have stuck with it though and not cheated because I haven't gone thru this since April to blow it now. I refuse to go to my last appt, or worse, be on the table only to be told they can't operate. Keep the end goal in sight. You CAN do it. -

Surgery is 11/17 and starting to freak out!
HopeandAgony replied to losing100#'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a day before you, and on day 2. I'm doing OK. I definitely have a weird headache going on. The span between lunchtime shake and dinner is by far the hardest for me, I start to feel extremely nauseous. I have been trying things to keep busy to distract my mind. Good luck on your journey! -
Pre Op diet day 2, what is this funky head feeling?
HopeandAgony posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today is day 2 of my two week pre op diet. Yesterday and today I noticed this weird head feeling. Not headache (yes I have a headache but that is different). This feels spacy...like medicine head or something. Anyone else have this and does it subside in a few days. I don't feel dizzy, I just don't feel right. Hard to explain. -
I love heels. However over the last few years I've developed significant hip pain. The hip pain always got worse when I wore heels for for short periods of time so I've stopped wearing them completely. I would like to be able to wear them again and am anxious to discover if I will be able to or not.

Day one of two week pre op diet...
HopeandAgony posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I am on day one of my 2 week pre op diet. My diet consists of 2 shakes per day and a lean meat dinner with veggies. I have had my two shakes. I am drinking a ridiculous amount of water to try to compensate for the funny head feelings I have. Not really a headache, almost like medicine head. So weird. I am also clinching my teeth for some reason. I've been chewing sugar free gum to distract myself. I also went outside and walked a mile on my lunch break. I am praying for the willpower to stick with this for the next two weeks. -
Day one of two week pre op diet...
HopeandAgony replied to HopeandAgony's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 2 - almost lunch time. I've thought about bum rushing people drinking coffee...just because they are drinking coffee. And all this Halloween candy around here is gonna cause me to throat punch someone. I've resorted to eating ice chips between my drinking water.
