New Bander needs your help - numbness
elisa replied to hallfamilyx2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know exactly what it is. I had that last year on and off mostly on for about a year. I really thought something was wrong with me and I saw a nerve dr. She told me there is a nerve under your stomach that when you sit and lean over as if you were on the computer or desk and especially if you have extra weight to lose it compresses the nerve and you leg feels numb. At first I didn't believe her but, now I am down about 28 pound and I don't sit too long it actually got better. Good luck because I know I even felt the nerve when I sneezed or had to go to the bathroom I actually felt pain down my le-Elisa -

I had my band done in 8/08. When I came out of surgery my back hurt soo much and I almost threw up from being dizzy. They gave me something for the sick feeling. I din't have any sholder pain but all back pain. It felt like back labor. I used gas x stripsand walked a lot. I also gave up the shakes and drinks because it was making me more gassy. I lived on egg drop soup and frozen yogart and iced tea.The Dr. also sent me home with heavy pain pills that I used for the week. It did help with the pain in my back from gas. I am down 25 pds . I havent fixed my scale yet-Elisa

Freaking out - help please
elisa replied to wvgal33's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
first you have to calm down. Just remember you can eat chinese food after surgery. Just not as much. I went to the buffet tonight and I have been eating chineese after 2 weeks out. You are just going to make a full plate or you might you just won't be able to eat that much. What I would do is start having more salads and clear soups to shrink your liver till you find out what you should eat. I wan't the best on the liquid but it was fine. I had egg drop soup, salads tuna egg salad anything lite and not fried. Thats what my dr. said. You will be fine. It's not your last meal. Everytthing you ate before you can stll eat. I had mine done 8/24 and down 25 I haven't updated my ticker. Good luck-Elisa -
Have you been checked for diabeties and have you seen a heart doc. Also could be extra walking in the warm weater.-good luck

I just wanted to wish everybody luck on there upcomming surgery. Dr. Geiss did mine on 08/24. I had it 6:00 pm and went home at 10 am the next day. More pain than I thought at first but within a few days I felt much better. I am down 22 pds and slowly going down. I wasn't great on my liquids before. I kind of ate soup and veggies/ salad. I told Dr. geiss that I wasn't the best on the liquid but he didn't say much about it. He said as long as I was making better decisions eating lite and NOt eating anything fried I should be ok and I was. I'm not saying anybody should sway from their diet. I just didn't have the willpower. He really was great. I also say I haven't had any problems eating anything. Sometimes again I don't make the best choice like yesterday I had a garlic knot and 1 small slice of pizza .I couldn't have eaten another bite. I had some sushi rolls 3 pieces the day before but I am still losing. I just want you guys to know after about 3 weeks you can go out to dinner just to make better decisions than what I make even though its a lot less than what I would of had.
