    Intro!

I am new to this site as well so I had a little trouble navigating. I am 5 days post op and was an anxious nervous wreck up until the day of surgery. I was like you, wondering if I am going to regret it. So far this is what I have experienced; The first 24 hours after were very difficult because you are allowed nothing by mouth until the upper GI rules out leakage (gastric sleeve). I was so dry in the mouth by the time it was time to go get the UGI done I was upset. All I wanted was a ice chip. I survived it and then was able to sip Water. The only problem is with the tiniest sip I was a little nauseated. I imagine everyone is affected differently but remember this, everyone gets themselves hyped up way more than necessary. I believe you will do just fine. When is your surgery scheduled?

    Low BMI-ers

I was too low and I knew it but at the end of my rope of solutions to lose weight and keep it off. When I went in for the initial assessment I kind of knew what to expect. Then they told me that the insurance likely would not approve. Then I was on a journey to add a few more pounds on purpose and fuss and fight about my health going downhill because of my weight. After about 7 months I finally got the ok and began the steps as it got closer to pre-op days. Today I am 5 days post op and am not sorry. I am glad I did the sleeve.
