Favorite protein shake blender
wascott replied to thelakeisgone's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
@@Kindle Do you mind sharing what kind of insoluble fiber you use for your smoothies? I need to up my fiber. -
Great! I'm scheduled for June-22 in Tijuana. I've been busy preparing for post-op. I've stocked up on Clear liquids such as: beef and chicken broth, Crystal Lite, Green tea, Vitamin Water Zero, sugar free Jello. I plan to make my own sugar free popsicles. I've tried several different Protein shakes. I purchased a Nutri-Bullet to puree foods. And I've got a couple different kinds of bariatric Vitamins. Good luck!

For pre-op Protein I'm using Premier Protein shakes (from Costco), unjury Protein powder, and EAS Complete Protein powder. You may like something different than what others like. Try samples if you can so you don't end up with a lot of expensive protein that you don't like. People say that your tastes may change after surgery. What you like now may not be what you like after surgery. As for post-op, I'm stocking up on various things people have recommend. chicken broth, beef broth, crystal lite, Vitamin Water zero, sugar free Jello, sugar free pudding, green tea. I picked up a nutr-bullet so I can puree food when I get to that stage. Good luck!

Please ask your pharmacist before cutting ANY prescription pill in half (or chewing, crushing, etc). If it's a time released pill you will get a large dose all at once which can be very dangerous.

So sorry you're having such a rough time. Get yourself healthy before you worry about your weight. Hang in there. -
Congratulations!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'll be going through the same process in a few weeks. I'm worried about getting down enough fluids. I probably drink close to a gallon a day now.

As it so happens, I have a crust less chicken pot pie in my freezer. It says 2 grams of sugars. It has 22 gr of Protein and 22 gr of fat. When you're in ketosis you need the fat as that's what your body uses for energy. I haven't tried it yet. Sadly, the crust is my favorite part.

The whole goal of Atkins is low carbs. The frozen meals I looked at only had 1 to 3 grams of sugar.

Sounds like you're doing great. I hope to be at that stage in a few more weeks.

MILK is doing my bidy bad nit good

I believe that lactose levels are lower in cheese and yogurt vs milk. I vaguely remember reading that somewhere. -

Eat lean protein and plenty of green veggies. Increase your physical activity. Keep your fats and carbs low. Track what you eat so you know if you're on target. -
What made you finally want Weight Loss Surgery?

@@Djmohr Good luck with your fusion. I did a triple cervical fusion a year and a half ago. It did the trick and also restored half an inch to my height. -

That's a pound a day! That's sounds great to me! -
I'm tired of waiting, I want to be able.

I'm still pre-op. It's all these success stories that keep me motivated. I'm still 1 month from surgery. I've been using this time to follow healthy eating habits and exercise. Hopefully this will translate into a success story for me as well. Do you have a surgery date scheduled? -
Enjoy your trip!

What made you finally want Weight Loss Surgery?
wascott replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. Been on blood pressure meds forever and it's been creeping up. Been on CPAP for years and that pressure was creeping up. Worried I'd develop type 2 diabetes at any time. Couldn't do anything without losing my breath. My cousin was sleeved last year and has been doing great. Time to get my act together. I don't know what it is about photos. I can look in a mirror and not "see" how fat I am but I look enormous in photos. My surgery date is coming up fast. Can't wait to be on the other side. -
Did you have to cut ALL starches?
wascott replied to LiberalInAZ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At present my goal is 20g of carbs per day. That's less than the carbs in 2 ounces of french fries. -
Green smoothies on pre-op diet...anyone?
wascott replied to dhopkins56's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great question. I'm not allowed fruits during my pre-op phase. Would like to try out my new nutri-bullet but liquid spinach just doesn't sound good. -
@ Sorry to see you go. I must admit that I've ended up in some topics meant for ladies only. I browse recent and trending topics 99% of the time. They don't indicate what genre it was posted in.

Don't be afraid to go to the informational meeting. You're just there to learn and ask questions not to make any commitments.

You're doing great so far. My date is coming soon. I can't wait. Good luck!
