Sorry to hear that. My insurance doesn't cover WLS of any kind so I'm self-pay.

This may be simplistic but I think I broke my stall
wascott replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm on the Atkins induction diet before I go on the liquid 2 week pre-op diet. It wants me to target 20g carbs plus or minus 2g per day. I wonder if it's possible to get too few carbs. (?) And what it does to ones metabolism. Just thinking out loud. Glad you broke through the block! -
Keep this post going:) Things I am looking forward to (not food related)

I'd like to be able to sleep without my beloved CPAP machine so I can go backpacking. And be able to carry a heavy pack without losing my breath! -
Water consumption post-op
wascott replied to KJFellin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still pre-op but I can say that you must stay hydrated! 4 to 8 ounces in a day is not enough. If you can't manage to consume more you need to talk with your doctor. Mine says I should be drinking a minimum of 40 ounces post-op and preferably 64 or more ounces per day. -
Don't lose hope. You just need to get back on track. You can do it!

I just ran into the same issue. I ended up putting in a random goal date. I'd love to see to the ticker weight be the same as the profile weight. It seems strange to have to update it in two places.

Typical Story, I've always been big
wascott replied to TexCntryBoy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations on your progress so far. And thanks for sharing your story. I'm looking forward to being in the post-op phase. I'm currently doing well on my pre-op diet so that burger sure does sound good to me right now! -
Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
wascott replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is June-22. I'm nervous but excited at the prospect of some day weighing less than I did when I graduated high school 30 years ago. I've still got some weight to lose before surgery. Currently on a high protein, low carb diet and putting a lot of miles on my treadmill. -
2 days to go and SCARED
wascott replied to Vikingsfan8178's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is June-22. I'm nervous about it but excited at the same time. I will lose this weight and get healthy again. I'm not doing it for my family. I'm doing it for me! Best of luck to you. -
Good luck! My surgery is June-22. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I know it's for the best and I'll lose this weight.

I can't compare the different doctors in TJ. I am having surgery at the OCC with Dr. Ortiz on June 22nd. My cousin had surgery there last year and had a positive experience. I'm currently on a Pre pre-op diet and I bust my butt on the treadmill everyday to make sure i hit my pre surgery weight goal. Good luck!
