  1. Nausea for the first 3 days post op! I slept and woke up with a sick bag in my hands and thought I would tear my fresh staples from throwing up dye.
  2. 2 weeks out and I remember the Nurse Practitioner in the preop room say, "Do not cross your legs for at least a month!"... I was like "Why?" and she said "Blood clots, you have to keep moving." Well since I am done with the blood thinner injection I am scared not crossing my legs and walking around just to avoid clots Hope that counts as exercise
  3. Good luck and do not be discouraged by the first couple of days. It only gets better.
  4. Adding never thought: Within the first two days post op I would ever stop feeling nauseated, oh I hated this the most. I would forget to take in fluids because there are no hunger yawns just sleep yawns I would belch foam after accidentally eating a sugar Popsicle instead of a sugar-free one I would be able to walk without lifting my left incision and working against gravity I would be able to bend and pick something from the floor I would be able to sit around people eating some of my previous favorite foods and not be concerned because I am not hungry or craving the food Sunrise to Sunset sip sip sip is so hard. I would wake up everyday knowing I am destined to weigh less than the previous...
  5. 37 pounds is something. Everyone's journey is different so do not be discouraged. Have you tried Premier Protein? I am almost 2 weeks post op and today was the first day I took in 60g of protein. I started at 8AM and am just now finishing Keep working on it.
  6. You need to commit to find out what is making you gravitate towards negative influences in your life. The weight you had piled on before and the new mean personality have a lot in common. Get this fixed in a medical setting, you are worth all good things. Wish you all the best in your journey as you find yourself
  7. Hi, @xlawman I had my surgery on 9/1/15 so feel free to ask me any questions as the experience is still fresh All the best on your surgery and let us know how it goes.
  8. 12 days post op and feels like days are all about sipping sipping and trying to get my protein in... This too shall pass! Happy Sunday y'all :)

  9. Hi, I am 9 days out too and I am barely able to take more than one shake a day. I am drinking more water but not the 64oz I need. It is a work in progress. Just keep sipping.
  10. Before surgery it is hopeless failure that is mostly permanent for most of us but with this tool you can fail with the hope that you can pick yourself backup and do better the next day.
  11. If you keep your identifiable information private, you still can exist anonymously and contribute or get support from this page. The problem is if you use your real name, post your pics with your face or house in the background it will be easy for other to know who you are. The internet knows what you give to it. You can use some smart precautions and sort of have some privacy. --I would not use my real name --I would not post pics of myself --I would not give my date of birth --I would use a special email for such sites --I would not give the name of my insurance carrier And I would still be able to share my journey with other freely imo
  12. My understanding is yes if you consume the protein as a liquid.

    Calf cramp

Hydrate yourself and have some electrolytes. My doctor told me to make sure I am drinking enough water and to keep changing sitting position every hour or so. Good luck and hope you feel better
  14. Had my surgery on 9/1/15. --Arrived at hospital at 9AM --Registration done and arm band applied by 9:15AM --Off to Lab for pregnancy urine test by 9:40AM --Back to lobby waiting for nurse --Pre Op nurse came for me about 9:50AM --Changed into hospital gown --Vitals and medical history taken --OR nurse came with same questions --Surgeon came in to explain what I should expect --Anesthesiologist came in to take medical history --OR anesthesiology nurse came with more questions --NP from surgeon office came in to discuss post op diet and medication --Wheeled to OR by 1PM --I do not remember anything after that --Woke up in room nauseated as hell. --Started sipping Water from the medicine caps but I just kept throwing up --Walked around the floor 2 times --Discharged at 11PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 2 ===== --Stayed in bed nauseated and in pain --Got my nausea medication and felt much better --Difficult to keep stuff down Day 3 ===== --Feeling better --Sipping water --Having popsicle --TMI (Passing gas) --Belching so much. --Sat up and did this Day 4 - Day 7 ========== --It has been hard to get the 60g of Protein but I am getting in at least 30g --Walking around comfortably but there is that gravity pull on the incisions that kind of hurts --I have been having plenty of sugar free popsicles --Stopped taking pain meds already --Occasionally taking the anti nausea and vomit med...as needed --Enjoying shower, the glue on the incision is still on. Day 8 ==== --(TMI) finally had bowel movement, was about to start taking milk of magnesium! --Down 10lb since surgery day --Planning on thickening my fluids (soups) a bit from today --Definitely worth all the pain that seemed like would never end. Hang in there, I can definitely say it gets better everyday.

    African American vsgers!

Oh my goodness, I was worried about loose skin now I have to be worried about a big head too? LOL!! My surgery date is this coming Tuesday and I am getting nervous, it seems more like not about complications but about my future new self, I am kind of afraid to meet her if that makes sense - its been a long time being overweight.
