  1. Congrats on your journey! I am experiencing some issues with eating too. I barely can tolerate two bites and I feel nausea, so still been supplementing with Protein shakes to get to the 60g Yesterday I tried ground chicken breast and it worked so much better for me. I too can barely get 64oz of Water. Hope this is a passing phase
  2. Transitioning from full liquids to soft foods not going so well for me! I am not tolerating much other than yogurt.

IMO...stay on liquid diet and slow down on adding soft foods. this isn't a race, everyone heals/adapts differently. if u still have issues in moving forward, call your doctor.

Thanks @SLIPSHOD! I have done just that. I get to see my NUT in 3 days so I will discuss options. The good thing I can drink the protein shakes a lot better now.

    Back to work

Surgery 9/1 Home 9/1 Back to work 9/7
  4. I have been experiencing that and my NP said it was the dissolving stitches inside separating from the flesh as it heals. I know how bad it hurts when you move a certain way. I put a warm pad their and it helped. All the best and hope you feel better soon

    Surgery

Sorry for your experience. I had hernia repair too and did not experience those spasms. Please call your surgeon, I do not think it is safe to be vomiting in your sleep. Best of luck and pray that you are better soon.
  6. Just keep trying to lose as much as you can before your surgery. My surgeon's disclaimer was that if they thought my liver was too large to allow for safe surgery they would not do it. The purpose I think of the pre-op weight is to shrink your liver so keep losing as much as you can.
  7. 20 days post op and BMI down 5 points! Happy with progress.

Sorry for the news as @@SaraSleeves said try and consult with the Nicholson Clinic.
  9. Whose thinking about cake? My prayers to you as you fight through these two journeys. All will be well, we are just starting to learn new relationship with food so we are all bound to make mistakes. Just focus on getting well. Big hugs your way.

    Thigh numbness and burning?

Yeeessss!!! Was wondering what was going on! I too feel some weird sensation on my left outer thigh and it gets numb. It is sporadic so I can't figure out what triggers it. I am almost 3wks out. Lets hope someone can help us figure out what it is.
  13. Thanks for sharing! I know it sucks to try and get the protein shakes in so this is an alternative. I am still on full liquids so I could spread this over the whole day... I am barely making 400 calories a day. Will definitely try it.

    Question ugh

Call your surgeon's help line. With surgery being Monday, I would not mess with any pain meds that may or may not cause issues. Just call and let them decide what you need to do. All the best and hope you feel better.
  15. Been dealing with sharp pains on my side.. NP says it is the dissolving stitches pulling away from flesh as the internal wound heals.

Been dealing with that since I left the hospital over two weeks ago. :( Hoping for a speedy recovery for you!

@Nikikins Thanks! Hope you feel better too. I noticed I felt better longer if I kept the area warm so I will keep doing that.

  16. ...That speechless moment when someone starts telling you about a diet they are currently trying to lose weight and asks if you want to try.

    Protein shakes

Congrats on your big day. I initially bought the Premier powder and I would mix it with almond milk but after I tried the premixed version, it is thinner and better now that am on full liquids. I bought it at Costco and it tastes great. But remember your taste buds might change after surgery.

    Should I be working out?

Congrats on your journey! Store as much energy as possible for the first week after surgery. I just kept to my pre-op diet and just as yourself I was weak from the reduced calories. I did not exercise hard just walked to improve blood flow.
  19. 2 week appointment went well... cleared for exercise without lift and egg/yogurt/soft cheese in 6 days. Looking forward to chewing :)

    African American vsgers!

Congratulations on beginning your journey. I was sleeves on July 21 of this year. I am super grateful for no issues, no food problems, etc. I had my 8 week check today and I am at 40lbs. Only thing I would do different, is not get discouraged during the early stalls. Mine lasted almost 2 weeks...then suddenly, I started dropping. The big the I didn't notice, etc through my clothes and I needed to realize it, I was still losing inches. So now, I just remind myself, it's going to come off, just be patient! So glad you talked about the stall! I am 2 weeks out and my scale has not moved. I have to start working on patience

    African American vsgers!

Congrats on starting your journey. It is true you can't lift anything the first few weeks. One of the incisions is very painful. Every time I walked around during the first week, I had to lift the flesh around it because the gravity pull was so painful. With a one year old, you will need some help.
  22. I say you let them get on the other side as they see you transform to the person you want to be. I chose not to tell anyone in my family just because only I have been obese and known the toll it has had on me. There are somethings that are just personal and just need your personal validation. Do what is best for you, it is your journey the rest should catch up. Now schedule that surgery and start living, we will be here to cheer you on! All the best
  23. @losing2win great! The staff is friendly and professional. My surgeon is Dr Nick, I chose him because when I consulted with them I found him to be a straight shooter and I left the seminar clear that sleeve was just a tool and that I had to do my part to succeed. All the surgeons there are skilled - you are in good hands. All the best in your journey!
  24. Hi - starting my 3rd week post op. Please break down and share what you are eating or were eating during this period. I am still on full liquids for another week ((day 1 - 21). I am running out of variety but am hanging in there
  25. And for this reason the Nicholson Clinic is the best!
