GBS saved my life & helped me create a new one...literally

Congrats!! That's great news. -
I actually started my pre-op diet early. Before that I slowly started removing things from my diet. First I removed coffee, (I knew that would be the toughest)...then bread, Pasta. Bread and pasta were a weakness of mine but honestly I don't miss them now. I try to limit my coffee to once a week now because it makes me hungry whenever I drink it. ???????? I'm not a big sweet eater so that wasn't difficult for me. Good Luck with your pre-op diet...remember that it does get easier after the third day. And good luck with surgery.

I agree with the other ladies. It's definitely making my marriage better. Mainly because my confidence has increased. When I feel good about myself it makes me more attractive. It doesn't mean he loves me anymore or less. He's always loved me and called me beautiful and we have a great marriage. Surgery gave me my confidence back.

I've stalled/had really slow weight lost for about a month. Even gained a little one week. This week my body decided to lose 3 pounds since Sunday. I'll take that. ???????? I know it's normal so I don't let it stress me out. This to shall pass. Keep your chin. ???????? -

I'll be 4 months post-op on the 30th and it's still hard. It's not easy and you will be tempted but remind yourself that it will be worth it. I remember the day before surgery going to church and watching everyone eat pizza...one of my favorites. I literally wanted to cry. I also have 3 kids (almost 16, 14 and 11, all boys) and a hubby who love to eat. I'm almost certain he has the biggest sweet tooth of anyone I know. I can't expect them to eat like I do. I hoping they're picking up on my healthier choices. You can do it. Stay strong and focused. Think long term not temporarily!

How long did it take you to notice?
tcon replied to MickeyMax95's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Others started commenting almost immediately. I could tell I was losing by my clothes but didn't realize the difference until I took a picture with someone one Saturday. I compared it with an old picture and couldn't believe the change. Unfortunately I still see myself the same size when I look in the mirror most of the time. -

What About The Good (Amazing) Stories?
tcon replied to creativediff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off, congrats on the beginning of your journey! You'll do great. My surgery went well with minimal pain and complications. I also have an amazing husband who loves me at my worse and best. He has always called me beautiful and showed me his love for me. I know that he enjoys seeing my confidence grow because I have definitely lacked confidence for the last 18 years. Best of luck!!! -

Nervous about BCBS NC requirements.
tcon replied to HopperM's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have BCBS NC and the process was extremely easy. I'm 5'4 and I was 250 when I started the process. My highest weight was around 255. The process was fast. I started April 22nd. I could've have my surgery mid to late May but I put it off until July 30th due to prior obligations and I didn't know how long it would take to recover. Best of luck!!
