Will seasonal allergies prevent surgery?
mlstrom28 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All! I'm just curious if anyone's had this come up or not. I suffer from seasonal allergies & right now I'm a congested coughing mess. No fever or signs of infection yet though... my surgery is in 10 days. Any thoughts on whether or not the surgery will be cancelled/postponed? I already emailed my surgeon's office & was told that I could take OTC allergy meds... I'm just worried. Side note, in the past these allergies have been known to eventually develop into a sinus infection, but so far I'm clear of that. -
I can't wait to.....

I can't wait to be able to wear cute shoes again... so tired of clod hoppers & tennis shoes!! Oh, I also can't wait for the day where I don't "hesitate" when I have to sit down somewhere just because I'm nervous about the chair collapsing or just not being wide enough. -
Hi All, I'm Monica, I'm 45 today. My surgery date is 10/13/15 and I'm super excited. I live south of Atlanta, GA (nice to see other Georgian's here!) in a golf cart community. I am married to a wonderful man and together we have 4 amazing kids... my daughter is (23), a step-daughter (29), step-son (21) and our little miracle is (4). I was never overweight as a child, but I do recall always being aware of my weight and self-concscious of my appearance. I didn't start putting the weight on until after I had my daughter. I was in a bad relationship and looking back now I can see how I turned to food for comfort. Fast forward 23yrs and 135lbs and I find myself scared to death about leaving this earth while my children still need me, especially my baby boy. I have been blessed with the ability to stay home with our little guy and I want to enjoy every single minute of it! I have read countless posts, viewed hundreds of videos and have spoken with numerous professionals. I am confident in my decision to have this surgery and I can't wait to get to the "other side". I'm always open to new friends and connections, so feel free to add me if you'd like!

Is this support group still meeting? -
Hi all!! I'm very new to this site and to the decision to go forward with this weight loss journey. I have just scheduled my first of what I'm sure will be many appointments but it's not until May 16th. I have already confirmed my insurance company will cover 80% of the surgery after I've jumped thru all their hoops of course, but they couldn't give me a ballpark of what I should expect for my out of pockets because its a "negotiated rate". I live in Georgia and I've read (though I'm not sure how true it is...), that the cost of surgery here is on the lower scale compared to other states. I would really love to know from anyone willing to share, how much they ended up paying AFTER insurance! Thank you!!
