  1. My insurance required me to diet and exercise for 6 months. I had to see my PCP once a month and document my progress. Most people see their NUT I think.
  2. I had gastric sleeve surgery 2 months ago. I've lost 42 lbs on my 6 month pre op diet and 35 lbs since surgery, 77 total since I started in April! I'm off of all of the meds already, I have a ton of energy and I'm sleeping like a baby! First pic : day of surgery on left, today on right. Second pic: 2 wks ago on left, April on right

    Vomiting blood

Her flight was held but she should be in tomorrow. The nurse scheduled me tomorrow for 8am to be seen and get labs.
  4. Sorry for the gross subject guys, but I need some help. I'm 2 months post gastric sleeve now. I forgot to take my morning dose of Vitamins (Gastric Multi-Vitamin, Actigall, Omeprazole, Biotin) this morning so I took them 30 minutes after I ate lunch. I waited to long and had to run to the bathroom. This happens occasionally and I've become mostly "used to it" now. But this is the first time I've had blood in my vomit so I called my surgeons office. Her reaction was a gasp and then "Oh no!" The PA is back in the office tomorrow and they will have her call me. In the meantime, I figured I would ask you guys: have any of you had this issue or know someone who has? Am I worried over nothing? Her silly reaction has got me wondering. ????

    Vomiting blood

That was my first thought too so I checked them before calling the nurse, all are white or off white in color. But I took them with a few sips of pink lemonade crystal light that I put unflavored protein in. That's the only thing I can think of if its not blood?

    Vomiting blood

I'm asking if anyone else out there has vomited blood while I wait for the PA. I'm a patient person, just looking for some helpful info in the meantime ???? I'm sorry if I was unclear. Good luck on your journey! ????

    truckers

I'm not a trucker but my parents are owner operators. My mother will be in surgery in 1-2 months, she plans on getting the sleeve. She has a Ninja cooker in her truck which is like an oven, slow cooker and stove top all in one. It's a little pricey but worth the money! They also have a cooler in the truck where she can store leftovers. She can make stuffed peppers, eggs, mini crab cakes, ricotta bake, chicken fajitas (chicken and fajita packet), beef roast with green Beans, slow cooker pork ribs, split pea Soup with diced deli ham, white bean and ham. When she's home they smoke chicken and ribs and take it with them. The possibilities are endless if you have room for a little cooker or crockpot in your truck. Chicken salad, tuna salad, crab salad with a tiny bit of mayo or avocado is easy and can store in your mini fridge or cooler. i would keep nuts, low cal cheese sticks, unflavored Protein powder and crystal light on hand too for Snacks and getting your protein in. One of her biggest issues is going to be that she won't be able to eat all of the leftovers she's going to have which could mean stopping for groceries more often.

PCOS and cramps from the depths of Hell

I have PCOS and have had it for 10 years that I know of. I've been in an out of ERs for ruptured cysts on my ovaries, I've tried almost every birth control to get my hormones under control, I've also taken Metformin for a big part of those 10 years. I am 6 weeks post sleeve now. I bled after surgery (I think everyone does) for almost a week. I got the brown discharge 2 weeks later. My period came about 4 days ago and the cramps and bleeding have been usual. Yes, it hurts but it's nothing compared to a cysts. I've got a heating pad but I really miss my Sassafras tea Overall I haven't noticed a chance yet in my PCOS except that my facial hair growth has slowed down. I hope your cramps get better!

    Regret surgery

My surgery was 11/3/15. I finally cried last night over not being able to binge on junk food like my hubby was haha! I don't even like the cookies he was eating! I realized how silly I was being, reminded myself that I've lost 20lbs and remembered where binge eating junk food has got me. Other than that this whole 2 weeks has been very smooth sailing for me. I haven't had any regret. Surgery was textbook, pain was minimal, I easily met fluid and protein goals by day 2, I was only sick the 1st day in the hospital. It has all been a breeze for me (so far). Everyone is different, your experience will be too ☺ Best of luck! HW-307 SW-265 CW-245
  13. You will be too! Good luck on your journey and stick with it! You're almost there
  14. Its funny to read "trust your gut" on these forums
  15. Good luck!!! How much did you lose in the 2 weeks. Our plans sound similar. You will do great today!! I am so excited for you. I've lost another 10 so far putting me at 47 lbs lost since starting this journey in April. I've read about lots of people having to do 2 weeks of clear liquids so I won't complain about getting the easier diet haha
  16. Mine allowed 2 shakes and a small meal for 2 weeks as well. On the day before surgery (yesterday for me) I was put on clear liquids. Today is the friggin day! 4 hrs and counting...

    November Sleevers

I'm in Southern Illinois and my date is Nov 3! My pre-op diet starts on the 21st. I canNOT wait, super excited!???? ????
  20. I see my surgeon team today for a follow-up. Last month was my initial visit with his team and I have about 1 more month of nutritional follow ups with my PCP before it can all be submitted to insurance. I quit smoking 3 wks ago (after smoking for about 10 yrs). It wasn't hard when they told me I had to for the surgery. Believe it or not, I am very motivated! But now I've gained about 15lbs in 3 wks ????. I'm nervous about seeing the surgeon team today because they told me in my initial visit not to gain any weight. I was told to lose 10-15lbs before surgery. I still have 2-3 months before I go under. Did anyone else gain during the 6 month diet stage? I am busting my rear to lose that and the 10-15lbs before I go down but I'm freaking out a bit about today's weigh in! ????
