Day before surgery 11/9/2015
BranMo103 replied to BranMo103's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have had a few moments where I've thought to myself why did I have this surgery? Or felt like I regret it. But I know in 3, 6 even 12 months this will be the best decision of my life. The constant stomach gurgling is a little off putting. I wonder if that will ever go away. I've read that that never really completely subside. Ugh -
Day before surgery 11/9/2015
BranMo103 replied to BranMo103's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Jane. I'm hanging in there. One of my incisions was aching me earlier this week. I think I over did it when I went grocery shopping. Still at home all day every day until I can safely lift 50 lbs or more (job requirements). Still going through a break up which seems like complete mental torture living with someone everyday and them telling you they are leaving to move back to their home town and just sitting and waiting for the physical moving to begin. I'm ready to go back to work just to have some daily interaction with people again. I have no family here where I live at so the holidays are going to be difficult. She is even taking the damn dog. Lol. But I know that this is something that needs to happen. This is my journey to travel and in the back of my mind I sort of felt that after this surgery we would probably finally part ways because she's jealous like that. I just didn't see God letting it happen this soon. So I will continue trying to take it one single moment of a day at a time until this is over and done with. -

Did anybody get surgery only letting minimal people know?
BranMo103 replied to lovelylala's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've done my best to only let the people closest to me know like my mother,ex partner, and sister, but my mother has been very loose lipped and has let some of my family know, which I absolutely hate. I have been off of work for a month so I am sure when I return and look to have lost several pounds, some of them may know what's up. I am a really private person so I hope to keep this one under wraps. -

Do all Doctors require two week liquid preop diet?
BranMo103 replied to Sleeved Nurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think your pre-op diet depends on your surgeon and what weight you are going into surgery. I was only req'd to be on a liquid diet 1 day prior to my surgery. Thank God, because I hated that one day after about 5:30 p.m. I was told just to start following the diet of 2 Protein shakes and a sensible microwave dinner to drop a few pounds before surgery. I must admit this whole process has been rather easy for me, which is another reason I definitely think I should have had the surgery. SW - 271 Surg Weight -257 CW -243 -

Sleeved on 9th November
BranMo103 replied to Aria.p's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on the 9th also. I did have headaches late in the day on day 2 and 3 but I contributed it to the neck pain that I've been having, perhaps from not being able to sleep like I usually do. As for coffee, I've had it everyday since I returned home. It's on my list of Clear liquids that I can have, as long as I don't use a dairy creamer. I haven't been able to drink a whole cup, but I will sip about half a cup The only problem other than that I am having is some tightening in my chest whenever I eat or drink. This may be due the hernia that Dr. Moore repaired, hopefully though, this too passes. I'm really ready to get back to normal life and activities. I've been walking 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes on my treadmill. -

Today is my first day home. Dr also repaired my hiatal hernia during my sleeve. The gas seems to just be moving slowly for me. I was able to walk ten minutes two times on my treadmill today. I'm drinking water and melted Popsicles. Tried a spoon of tomato basil soup but I put it down because there were small chunks of tomatoes in it and every time I drink something, I can feel tightening across my upper abdomen. Guess it's Jell-o for dinner. Still going through it with my live in ex right now.

Waiting in line for my surgeon. She has a difficult case ahead of me. So I'll be sitting here until the first one is complete. Been here since 7:30. IV went well. Had my first dose of Valium to relax

So tomorrow is my surgery. I'm beyond nervous. Never had any kind of surgery and never had to be put under or stay overnight in a hospital. Everything has gone so quickly. My initial appointment was with my surgeon back in August. I have United Healthcare and thought that the 6 mos of supervised weight counseling would be necessary.....it wasn't so I was approved on my first try to the insurance company. Things at home are falling apart and I'm just praying that mentally ill be good through tomorrow. I have to be at the surgery center for 7:30. Today is all clear fluids. Not too too bad. I have a minor hunger headache but pushing through. I'm planning on going bowling with friends later tonite so hopefully that will further keep me occupied from focusing on the hunger. Hoping that I will be doing well enough to take care of myself once I come home Tuesday. I'm really getting anxious thinking about the anesthesia.

I'm the day out before my surgery. I was already nervous as this is the only surgery I've ever had in my entire life. My surgery center is like 50 miles away and my partner and I are breaking up in this midst of this. Feeling all alone through this whole process. I'll probably be in the hospital alone tomorrow night. Pray for me. I'm nervous but ready for the results to come.

I'm a newbie here. Im in Gonzales, LA. I go to my consultation Friday with Dr. Bellanger in Baton Rouge, just wondering if anyone else has worked with him? I'm toying with the idea of going to Dallas to Dr. Kim and having it done. The cost is cheaper for me paying out of pocket and I have family there.
