Hey everyone on this post. Looks like most of us in this post had their surgery in June! Congrats everyone. Mine was the 29th. I'm feeling frustrated. Im still measuring out my foods, not cheating at all, exercise 5 days a week. 45 min treadmill and 15 on bike. 2 of those days add some weights. But that scale is so slow moving. I started 272 and only down to 255. 22 lbs. Everyone says "watch the weight fall off". Sick of it! Its not falling off! I ts seems so hard. Almost just like every other attempt. Except I can't overeat. Any words of advise from those of you its falling off of! I sure could use it!!!

Well that's definitely great! I don't feel my clothes fitting different. I don't look like I'm losing any more. I was losing as long as I was on the liquid portion of it then add food and everything stop!

Leanne1126: were you referring to my post? Its been like 10 days and scale has not budged! I feel its too soon for a plateau. I'm almost 1 month out from surgery. This is about where all diets fail for Me. Its so frustrating!!!

Totally frustrated...that damn scale still is not moving. Going to gym every night. Doing 1.5 miles on treadmill and some weights. I'm beginning to feel like this is like every other diet. Im still never hungry, can't tell when full. I know this is a tool to allow me to lose weight...but this tool does not seem to be working. When does this great weight lose start to happen???

    RNY

Had my RNY on June 29th. I too on a plateau. Lost 18 so far and stopped. From what I've read this is very common. All we can do is continue eating the same amount and exercising. It again will start falling off. Its so frustrating. Makes you think some things wrong. But this is what happens. We should be losing somewhere around 3 lbs a week maybe when we lose otherwise. We can get past this. Good luck to you!

Shelleylester: that is probably why you have more pain because it was a reconstruction w/a hernia. I will pray it gets better for you! Each day should get better as it goes. I believe in the long run once your through all the pain it will be the best thing for you! You won't regret. The outcome will be awesome!

    Small Plateau Blues

Alisiak: I'm 16 days since surgery, 15 lbs down and stuck at the same weight. Driving me crazy! They say its a normal plateau. We need to just continue what were doing. This can be frustrating. I measure my food out...mostly protein. I take my calcium and vitamins. And keep doing what I'm doing, hopefully I'll start losing soon!

Lotuslady32: thank you. I too feel exactly like kell778. I can not tell either if I'm full. I'm never hungry, its frustrating. Everything I've tolerated, I don't get gas, no pain, just keep doing everything I'm suppose to. I hope this metabolism kicks in, before the surgery I had none...

Sarahbee: everyday I go through thinking my surgery will fail. Plateau mess with your ming I swear. I want to stay off the scale and check only once a week but I just can't do it. I have to find a way to work through these. My husband and I joined the gym. Gonna throw some exercises in now and we will see.

    I'm struggling

Hi Shelly, I get down about 2 2oz containers per meal. I have a high protein and then something with fruit. Example: tilapia fish in one 2oz container and then 1 oz cottage cheese and 1oz blueberries. When did you have your surgery? So much pain? I'd contact your doctor. I had hardly any pain at all from the whole surgery. All I can suggest keep walking. I walked a lot. It seemed to help. I'm sorry its hurting so bad! That's what I was afraid of but I guess I was lucky to not have any.

That's a great idea w/protein shakes. The typical whey protein is not going down for me. Not agreeing with me either. Looking for another way to get it in ad that's helpful! Thanks

    I'm struggling

I'm on mushy still, adding a few soft meals. I eat yogurt, cottage cheese, egg salad, tuna w/mayo, I also eat tilapia fish, and had shrimp. I have fruit too. Blue berries and black berries. One other thing I've tried is spicy bean burger. Awesome. I needed to add some things that were hot to feel normal. The only thing that's not agreeing well with me are the protein drinks. Too sweet, not going down. And once I do get it down, I'm immediately running to the bathroom. Ive cut that down to 1 a day.

    Small Plateau Blues

Hi, as everyone else, I too have hit a plateau. Surgery was 6/29. I'm 2weeks 1 day and down 15 lbs. Keep fluctuating up and down but staying around the same weight. Sticking to the 4 oz per each meal, no snacking nothing. I tolerate everything. No problems. It almost messes with my mind, makes me feel like the surgery wasn't done. I was expecting it to be more difficult. Makes me wish I could just see my insides to know it was done. I guess waiting for the fail to start. To hopefully jump start the weight loss again I did join the gym today. Will start a workout tomorrow! Wish me luck!

    I'm struggling

Hey Shelly, hang in there! It does get better! Are you being able to hold anything down or is it just tasting horrible? I had my surgery on the 6/29. The doc has said its common to not get all your proteins in the first few months. In time it will build. I haven't had an appetite since my surgery. Can't tell when I'm hungry or even when I'm full. I feel like I never had the surgery. Almost wish I could see what was done to my insides. I'm so used to diets failing, I seem to be waiting for this to fail too. Frustrating. I'm lucky so far everything I have eaten I have tolerated fine. Find something that works and little by little try something different.

I do still drink the protein drinks but like I said they sure don't go down well! I was drinking whey protein, and I could barely get it down. Found a new one that's premade. Called Coco plus protein 80 cal and 20 mg protein per drink. Flavors in vanilla and chocolate. This one goes down much better. I get these at the rancho market.

My doc didn't have me go on pureed. But of course I'm still making sure the soft foods I eat are still pretty mushy. I got tired of cold foods that's why I started the fish and shrimp. Needed to feel normal. My family cooks out and does sausage and hamburgers on the grill every Sunday and we swim. I had to figure out things I can pop on the grill so I feel normal and still enjoy the grilled taste. That's where once sauteed my husband put the shrimp cauliflower and pineapple. They were great and soft enough. I'm glad he is a chef. Helps make my foods more tasty instead of bland. Makes eating healthier easier!

So did you already go thru mushed foods or were you still on liquids? I started mushy stuff last Tuesday, 8 days out of surgery. I've been eating, tuna w/lite mayo, egg salad, yogurt, cottage cheese, I had some tilapia, and yesterday my husband sauteed me shrimp w/ pineapple and cauliflower. All going down good. No pressure. Definitely chewing a lot to make sure everything goes down. I also have blackberries and blueberries. I tried cantelope but got gassy. Try that again later.

@@IamKe69 I'm doing great too! Surprisingly...I thought this was going to be much harder. Heard a few stories. But was willing to take the chance. I had bypass RNY. All my incisions are completely healed no scabbing, all skin. Went in my pool first time yesterday. Felt great! All foods I have tried have worked great with me. Having a difficult time finding a tasty protein drink. But getting it down. Water too. Dry mouth also here once in a while. Drink more. I started infusing fruit to my water for some flavor. Cucumber is great! What surgery did you have?
