I am one week post op and in need of a mentor. Someone to bounce things I am experiencing off of. Anyone interested?

Hi Mila48, was are neighbors! Welcome! I took be moving to Hawaii the end of June but will continue to post here cause Portland will always be my home! Are you post surgery or Pre surgery?

I am 2.5 weeks post op and can't hold anything down. I rushed it a bit and tried to eat a scrambled egg which stayed down OK but since then, nothing stays down. So tired of vomiting!

I drink about 5 or 6 glasses of water a day but I had gone to soft food instead of purees which I am sure was the problem. I had read on another site that scrambled eggs were ok at the stage... 2.5 weeks post op but shortly after that is when the vomiting and constipation started. I am back to protein shakes and water until I feel stronger and more regular. The pain in my ribs from vomiting so much is a great reminder to be gentle with myself and follow doctors orders.

Thank you... I am done pushing it for sure. There is so much conflicting info out there but you're right. I will stick to what my surgeon said.

All purees make me vomit. This morning I decided to go back to liquid for a day or two to see if maybe it would help. I will call my surgeon tomorrow morning.

It went down last night while I slept but OMG it was uncomfortable. I will no longer pout. #thankfulforyogurtandcottagecheese

I rushed because I was feeling so good and eating proteins. I now have a piece of meat lodged somewhere where I can't vomit it up but it doesn't feel like it is making much progress going down. Should I do something or just wait it out?

Has anyone experienced problems with pain medication absorption?

I had gained 10 pounds after surgery. The hospital pumps IV fluids while you are there. I am now one week post op and I have lost 15. Be patient.

I waited a year because of some medical issues before I could have surgery. Whatever info you get from the surgeon, don't lose heart. ????

I live in the Molalla area and am 1 week post op. My surgeon was Doctor Patterson. It's been a positive week for the most part. Still in some pain and wondering when the pulling muscle feeling will go away?
