Has Anyone Had Surgery In Mississippi? Who Did You Use?

Has anyone used Dr. David Carroll in Jackson? I have a consult on the 23rd.

I Had My Initial Consult With Dr. Avera In Ocean Springs On Feb 1. He Requires A Psych Eval, Lab Work, Gallbladder Ultrasound And An Upper Gi Swallow Test. Not An Endoscope, And An Ekg. And Have To Lose 10 Lbs Prior To Surgery. His Self Pay Is 15000. I Scheduled My Surgery For The 29th Because Of My Work Schedule,, However He Would Have Done It Sooner As Long As I Had My Pre Op Tests Done. They Are Wonderful At His Clinic. I Know It Is Prob Too Far To Go There But I Went To A Seminar In Jackson And Was Not Impressed. Hope This Was Helpful.

Hey Guys And Gals, Im Excited And Also Nervous About My Upcoming Surgery. It Is Scheduled For The 29 Of Feb. Will Start My Liquid Diet Soon. My Dw Is Hesitant About Me Having The Surgery, Not Sure For What Reason. One Of Her Friends Told Me That She Was Scared That I Would Die Or Leaver Her When I Got Thin. Well The Later Is Not A Concern However Im Willing To Take The Risk Of Dying Physically Because Im Already Dead Emotionally And Socially. Now Dont Get Me Wrong I Dont Want To Die , But Im Tired Of Living In A Shell . I Want To Live Like Normal Folks. Fyi.. My Dr. And Staff Played A Song By Mariah Carey( Hero) For Us At The Seminar. Wow How Moving. Thats Me, There Is Another Person Just Waiting To Emerge And Thats My Hero. Hope All Of You Find The Hero Inside Of You. May God Bless You And Help You With Your Journey.

Hell I Wish My Wife Would Ask Or Show Some Concern. She Thinks The Lap Band Idea Is Stupid Because I Should Just "eat Less And Do More Exercise". What A Briliant Idea I Say.. Wish I Had Thought Of That. Im 6'4" 340 Lbs. Which Is About 130 Lbs Overweight. Sometimes I Think She Wants Me To Stay Fat, I Guess So I Will Die Early From Some Comorbidity Associated With Fat. Hell Im Worth Alot More Dead Than Alive. Who Gives A *#@% Anyway. For Those Of You Whose Spouse Is Interested Great And For Those Like Mine Well Kiss My ###.

i have looked at it, but it seems that there are variations to what each facility and doctor provides or requires. I have considered dr. avery in pascagoula but its a little too far. i can be in jackson in 45 min. Dr Cleveland and his partner is who i have decided to use. i still dont know much about him but am looking forward to the seminar. thanks for your reply.

I need some advice. Dr. watkins, or anyone who was struggling with the decision. I keep thinking that i can lose weight on my own. My diet sucks, and I have little time to exercise. Am i crazy for thinking about the surgery? Should I try the eating style change and try to exercise to lose the weight? I know if i have the surgery i will have to exercise so i dont mind starting that. I have no control of my diet or portion control. Whats wrong with me that I cant stop eating and make a change. Crap others have done and made it without surgery. Im just really tired of being fat. please help. :help:

Good Response. I Have Done Adkins, Diet Pills, Basic Starvation. Ect. I Have Lost Weight In The Past And Have Gained It All Back And Alot More. Like I Said In Another Post I Just Dont Want To Hear All The I Told Ya So's From Friends And Family If I Fail.

Wow Small World It Is. I Live Laurel. I Am Having Trouble Making The Decision Of Whether To Have The Surgery (lapband) Or Not. I Will Be Self Pay, And Have Not Had Much Support From Friends Or Family. I Dont Want To Hear All The I Told Ya So's If For Some Reason I Dont Lose All My Weight Or If It Has To Be Taken Out And You Know All That Crap. Wow, I Have Not Even Had Surgery Yet But What An Encouragement Dr. Watkins Is. I Have Never Been A Star, Crap I Have Never Been Worth Anything. I Want To Live Life Skinny At Least Once. I Can Only Imagine What Its Like.
