Anyone else NOT on a liquid diet before surgery??? They want me on a 1500 calorie diet. I'd almost rather just do the liquid!

I am going to call the surgeons office tomorrow and see if they can help me with it. My throat is sore this morning. So hopefully I can knock it out before the 3rd.

Yes I was just reading some of your posts as well and saw we were the same size and our dates are close. Mine is June 3rd. I will try the Netipot. I didn't think about that. I was told I can only take my BP pills but nothing else. Including vitamins. PRAYING I am not sick in a week and a half. It's getting close!!

Not much longer! I am June 3rd. Of course now I am getting a sore throat. I CANNOT get sick! Ugh. I am so excited though. This WLS has consumed my every thought. I'm sure I'm driving my hubby crazy!

I went to my last class before surgery and actually heard this from the other PATIENTS! It made me question my decision which really ticked me off. I felt like I was being ganged up on by two of the girls. I was hoping to find a support buddy but that clearly didn't happen.

My NUT told me that I can have 1/4 cup of food and only eat for 20 minutes. I'm still a week and a half away from surgery though.

It's drives me crazy that I cannot find nice cotton shirts that are not see-through! Every shirt is so thin. It's so incredibly irritating!

Is everyone here required to do a liquid diet? My doctor is not requiring it for some reason.

I have extremely thin hair already and will have surgery on June 3rd. I am so worried about losing what hair I do have! It's good to know that not everyone loses but I have a feeling that I will. Then I will be bald. I'm not far from it now!

THIS was most helpful to hear. I went yesterday to my last class before surgery (June 3rd) and was a little frustrated. I was hoping to meet some other patients having surgery close to mine. What I got from the other patients was grief as to why I was having surgery in the first place (BMI is 40!), and why I chose bypass instead of sleeve. I kinda felt ganged up on as the other patients were having the sleeve. It was a little discouraging. I originally wanted the sleeve but through my journey decided that I wanted bypass instead. It just seemed a better fit for me. So thank you...

I have my "teaching class" this Thursday. I start my diet this week but I don't think my doctor requires a liquid diet which I think is weird. Do you have to do a liquid diet?

I am new here. I have my surgery date of June 2nd and I am so excited. I have 4 wonderful boys ages 10, 8, 3, & 2. I haven't told them about my surgery yet but plan on it soon. Anyone thoughts on discussing this with kids?
