I don't really "know" anyone on the board. I'm just here hoping to cope.

I have the same thing happen to me when I eat to fast. Slow down but don't over eat just because you can. It is hard sometimes to stop but it gets easier to know when you are full.

Ice cream in the freezer: Going to see how strong I am
Bigb replied to Bigb's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well it's one in the morning and I am still going strong, no ice cream for me. As far as the ticker goes, I'm sure I went the wrong way about it. I went to ticker factory dot com and picked one out. copied it to that first post then copied it to my signature under user CP. I'm sure their is an easier way. I'm just behind on how to use a computer. -
Ice cream in the freezer: Going to see how strong I am
Bigb posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My company had a celabration today and catered dinner for all of us. The main coarse was a sirloin steak and two chicken breast tender loins, all grilled, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, green beans, slaw, a roll, a peanut butter cookie and a pint of ice cream. I ate only the chicken and 1/4 of the steak and tossed the rest. The extra ICE CREAM is in the freezer in our control room and I want some, but i'm in the zone and have been loosing for the last two months. Please send encouragement if you know what I'm going through to stay out of the ice cream.:blushing: -

Thanks for all the encouragement. I just watched a co-worker eat his ice cream and it wasn't that upsetting. I think I'm going to bake some fish. -

I finally figured out that dang ticker. Can anyone else see it? -
jfran you are inspiring. I also live in East TN. Sorry I am not single but it is good to see people that are from around here close having some success. Where are you going to school?

That's great I have had my band for a year and a half and haven't lost a hundred pounds yet. Great Job.

I live in Decatur but I work in Charleston. I lift weights and walk and punch the heavy bag. Hopefully when I get some more weight off I will be able to crank it up a notch on my workouts and cardio. I have a long way to go myself but it does feel good to be headed in the right direction.

I was banded on 12-27-06 by Dr. Land at memorial. I had my fifth fill on May the 15th and that day changed my life. I now know what restriction feels like. Since my first visit I have lost 85 pounds. It was not as simple as it sounds. Pre-op I lost 45 and the two weeks after I lost another 15. When I got feeling good enough to eat I started eating and didn't slow down until I had gained back all but 6 pounds of that sixty. Since January I have started going back to the weight management center and becoming more active and more accountable for my eating. I have lost 79 pounds since January and finally feel like I am on my way to being where I want to be with my weight. I just want you guys that have recently been banded to realize it is just a tool, but it will work if you use it everyday. Get your fills call the nurses and see the consouler and be proud of what you have accomplished.

Nutra grain fruit and nut bars. I grill up some chicken and venison burgers and take one of each to work. I try to eat about every four hours but since my last fill I dont eat all that I take.

Get more fills. I have a 10cc band and didn't feel any restriction until I had 9ccs in the band. It is working now. I lost about 45 pounds pre-op and another 15 pounds right after surgery and gained all but six pounds back. I have now lost 72 pounds total. this thing will work but you need to get it filled.

I hit 66 pounds from my biggest and 60 since January.
-
I didn't feel any restriction until my fourth or fifth fill. Don't be impatient. The band will work just give it time and get it filled.

I would love to train in mma, but I live out in the country and it is a pretty good drive to the closest instructor. I have a heavy bag and a set of focus mitts to work on my boxing skills. I would like to learn more about the ground game though.

You can do it I sat and drank broth while my family had christmas dinner the week before i was banded.
-
I drank beer regularly up until my last fill. I had 7ccs in a 10cc band and drank beer fine. Now I have 9ccs and can't get it to go down. I guess i'll quit drinking beer, but taquila has no bubbles in it.

I lost 45 pounds before I started the pre-op liquid diet in order to get my bmi down. I lost another 15 after the suegery while recovering. So with two weeks of liquids before the surgery and nearly four weeks of liquids after the surgery I was ready to eat. When I got to the point that I could eat I never slowed down. I have a 10cc band and had 7ccs in it until May the 15th. I now have 9ccs and am very retricted but I am enjoying the success. The weight that i lost between Jan and May was by counting calories and excercising.

You could say that i started over. I had three fills and gained all but six of the sixty five pounds I lost before and right ofter the surgery. I have now lost 58 pounds since january. I got another fill two weeks ago and it is really coming off now. I now have a new appreciation for the effective ness of the band.

Hi. I'm new. I have had my band for almost a year now. I lost 65 pounds counting the pre surgery liquid diet. I didn't eat a bite for about forty-five days and as soon as i could eat after the surgery I started eating and haven't slowed down since. As of now I have gained almost all of it back. Has anyone else had any problems with wanting to eat although they don't need to. Any advice would be appreciated.:help:

Been trying hard and doing well. I do believe I need a fill. I will take care of that as soon as possible. Until then thanks for the support. I looked at all 70 pages of before and after pics and that was very encouraging.
