Definitely wait it out, in the first few weeks I felt as if I wasn't going to have any restrictions. But now 6 weeks out I can barely eat my 2oz of food.
-
Definitely going to be trying this when I'm cleared to!

Does anyone have issues with the meal replacements

Fluids in = fluids out -
I did the hcg diet like 5 years ago, I suffered from it then. I used smooth move tea and it always worked like a charm.

I have Cigna, I had 3 required nut visits but I did 4 I had a psych clearance, I also had to have a recommendation from my primary care physician. I was approved in a day.

I am 2 weeks out today! I was 281 at my preop testing which was about 2.5 weeks before surgery, I'm 261 today. I lost around 13 lbs the first week after surgery, however the scale has not moved, well it went up a couple pounds, since Monday! Is it really possible to start as stall at 10 days post op? Am I doomed, it's not like anything else I've ever done has worked, maybe this just won't either!? I'm only 5 feet tall so for my weight I really would have thought I'd get a little more out of this than 13 lbs.

Does your bariatric team have a social worker? Mine did, and she helped alleviate a lot of my anxiety I had pre op. If so, I would suggest reaching out to them.

October List of Surgery's
SookieLei replied to 60&goin4it's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I came home yesterday, I had a lot of pain Sunday am due to the jp drain pushing on my lungs making it extremely hard to breathe and very painful. Once they pulled the drain out there was immediate relief. I'm finding it extremely difficult to get all my water in even though I set times I still only get in about 26 oz a day. I'm really working on improving this. I gained 10 lbs while at the hospital so weight wise I'm disappointed. I have an appt with the doc in the am to check up. -
My surgery is on Friday! I am going to be going alone that day. Any ideas on how I'm supposed to keep track of my stuff? I know not to bring valuables, but obviously I'll want my phone and my Rny reading material and misc stuff. I know how I am and I'm going to be requesting to check on my kids as soon as I'm in recovery. If I have no one to guard my stuff, and don't have a room yet I just don't really know where I'm supposed to put my stuff. Any ideas?

I can't answer this with absolute certainty in your situation, but after I had my c-section of my twins I would wake up drenched every night to the point I had to change clothes.. I didn't think to much about it but when I went in for a check up I said something and come to find out it was an infection. I would call ur doc ASAP.

had my surgery this morning, thugs went great I've walked to bathroom couple times, pain is definitely not as bad as my c-sections were my insides feel violated..but really overall doing pretty good!

Fear leading up to surgery
SookieLei replied to goblue9280's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my am I glad I seen this post! My surgery is Friday, I know without a doubt it's what I want and need.. But I'm also growing really worried about the what ifs, I haven't told this to anyone because I don't need anyone trying to influence my decision anymore. For the past few nights all I dream about is anesthesia , surgery, protein shakes, etc... I have had a gulbladder removal years ago and all of my children were born from ceseran section, so I know I can do this. But lately I find myself looking at my kids and worrying so much about what if something were to happen to me! -
I can't believe it...he doesn't really care!
SookieLei replied to Sajijoma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My fiancé was also pretty supportive in the beginning, but now that this is actually here( surgery is Friday) we have argued so much over it! He won't even be going to the hospital with me, apparently he has a work thing... Good luck to you dear, hopefully yours will come around, I think for men when a woman changes themselves they fear of how it's going to effect their selfish behinds. -

October 2nd! -
My surgery is in 10 more days, it feels so surreal. I've been reading post after post trying to fill my mind with anything an everything. I saw a story a few days ago with someone getting the bypass with their highest weight being my lowest weight, same height and at this point in my life I thought I was thin. It just really makes me question everything I've ever done weight loss wise, and let me tell you I have done some really nutty things( think injecting myself with hcg). Why didn't I ever just think about this choice before? Maybe I just thought it was for those who were morbidly obese, with there own television shows. But I'm morbidly obese, I feel so hurt and ashamed of myself right now for letting it get this far. I took my kids to the park over the weekend and watched the other moms able to play with their kids while I sit in the car weeping. Idk maybe it's just everything getting so close, my desire for the last few years to have this done and the time has finally come. Maybe it's the attitude and arguments I'm getting from my once supportive partner. And all I can think is how can you look at me and not want me to get this done? Maybe it's the fear of being away from my kiddos for a couple days.

In 7 days from now I will be in recovery from surgery! Really excited but scared at the same time! I just keep telling myself it's for my kids and come this next summer I will be splashing around with my kids at a water park!! Or able to fit in rides with them! -
I have cigna, had 3 nut classes well I did 4 just because I opted to since I was still going through counseling, sent of for approval got approval in like a day! Seriously made it so easy! They even called me today to check on me and make sure I understood where I need to go, and ask if they can call and Check on me afterwards.
