Good morning AngryViking! Love the name! Haha. Where are you at in your WL journey?
-
Good morning! No, I am scheduled for surgery on May 27th ???? How about you? Are you just starting the process, have a date? Where are you having surgery?
-
The day is finally here????

SO going to remember that tip for my surgery next month! -
I'm in Saratoga Springs, NY ????

I have an 18 month old so for now I've just been running around and playing with him but I plan to incorporate exercise starting next week. The first few days SUCKED! I was quite grumpy but now it's not so bad once you get used to it. When I'm hungry I either eat a lot of veggies or have a sugar free popsicle.

I'm also on a Pre-op diet... 1 hardboiled egg for breakfast, lean cuisine or healthy choice for lunch and dinner. Veggies and no dip for snacks. I've been on this since Friday... I'm down 8 pounds and I've only cheated once but I put myself in a situation where I was starving and wasn't home so totally my fault. My surgery is scheduled for May 27th.

How many of you continue the shakes in your diet after many months after surgery?
RNYGal replied to bellabill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doc and NUT are the same. They want me to focus on eating "real" food and not getting protein or nutrients from the shakes. After all, you wouldn't be able to eat everything in the shake you're drinking with your tiny stomach, right? It sounds crazy (and did to me too), especially with all you see on this site about counting protein. I would just say listen to your body and do what's right for you. Yes, exactly! My doc and NUT are in the same space and they believe the same thing. He doesn't want me to drink my calories and would rather I eat them. He's thinking more long term and people going over their calories because they're drinking the majority of the it calories and not feeling full for as long as they would if they actually ate food. -
Have my date

@@TammyDTM, yes. I just had my consult with her the day after I scheduled my surgery and she just went over what was on the handout sheet. She just said how many grams of protein the shakes should have and she also emphasized I stop the protein shakes at 3 weeks... It's strange they don't do protein shakes because all I see on here is people talking about protein and their shakes. -
How many of you continue the shakes in your diet after many months after surgery?
RNYGal replied to bellabill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@TammyDTM, no he doesn't have a specific protein requirement. He just has guidelines of what you can eat and when and to stop the shakes at week 3. I'll have to clarify that he has no protein requirement. The post op diet sheet he gives out has no specific numbers on it except for how many ounces of fluid he wants me to have a day. -

Yeah, he is very against his patients drinking their calories and wants me to get my protein in from food. -

My surgery is scheduled for May 27th and my doctors diet guidelines post op only allow me to have protein shakes for the first 3 weeks and then he doesn't allow them anymore. -
That's awesome, congratulations!

How's she doing? Hope she's feeling better! -
Yeah I'm on a diet to shrink my liver too. Doc wants me to lose 10-15 pounds before surgery. I started his diet plan on Friday and I'm already down 6 pounds as of this morning. I think he'll be pleased with my progress. My weigh in is 4/30. Which I don't get since the surgery isn't until may 27th.

Good luck with surgery today! Please let me know how you're doing!

????Any May Gastric Bypass peeps????
RNYGal replied to Salonboi's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have to go four weeks and then the day before nothing but clear liquids. That might be tough, but I hope by then it'll be easy. Congratulations on your date! Thanks! I'm hoping the 3 days of clear liquids won't be too bad. When is your date? -

I'm scheduled for May 27th and my doc wants me to lose 10 to 15 before surgery. I started my Pre-op diet yesterday and then clear liquids 3 days before surgery. Here we go! Is it May yet?! -
Thanks, Salonboi!

Oh, okay. My surgeon does not require the Magnesium Citrate so thankfully I won't have to deal with that! I am also having the RNY but I've also already had my gallbladder out. I've been told this surgery will be a less painful recovery than gallbladder surgery.
-
Love it!
-
Wow, 9 lbs! Awesome! And by "clean out" th eight before surgery do you mean they give you something to take to clean out your system?

May 27th here! So excited, nervous, and ready for this!
