I am 2 weeks post op today and went to put on my belt this morning only to find out that it doesn't fit at all. I have lost 34lbs since my preop diet!

That's awesome I am able to eat eggs no problem. I guess it's different with everyone. I'm glad you are feeling well and lost all that weight! Since surgery I have lost 18lbs.

Hi my name is Brent and I had the VSG WLS on 4/21/15. My surgery was done in New Iberia, Louisiana by Dr. Thomas Boreland. He has been fantastic and very helpful along the way. I have struggled with weight since I was a very young age. My heaviest was 305lbs and my surgery weight was 294lbs. My current weight as of 4/28/15 is 286. That's 19lbs between my preop diet and the first week post op. I look forward to meeting other people that have had the VSG and look forward to building a great support group. I just started my thickened liquids yesterday and it was a little tough trying to get the protein shakes. Anyone recommend a good way to get protein in? My new sleeve doesn't care for the premier protein shakes from SAMs.

I'm not sure if everyone experiences it but I would imagine they would since they fill you with carbon dioxide gas so there is more room for surgery. My gas pains thankfully only lasted about 3-4 days. They were the worst the night of surgery. You can usually feel it in your shoulders or upper back and it feels like pressure. I used gas x strips a lot and it seemed to help.

I had my surgery on April 21st and I was extremely nauseous when I woke up from anesthesia. I did not have a hospital stay as my doctor uses a local hotel for two nights after surgery to keep costs down as I was a sell payer. He did prescribe me phenegrin suppositories and they worked great! I never felt nauseous again and I am one week post op and feel great! Just started my thickened liquids and I am having a tough time with protein shakes though. Hope recovery goes well and welcome to the losers bench!
