    Best books and videos?

The BIG Book on Gastric Sleeve was a great book. Dr. Matthew Weiner's WLS vids on YouTube are also really informative. As far as fellow Sleevers: VSGHeartOnMySleeve, Clusie, and ... and ... oh gosh there were just so many great vids posted by others who went through this that I'm literally having a brain-fart, sorry. Hope what I noted so far helps some

Best yogurt to eat post OP?

Also, look into Siggi's yogurt (Icelandic style cream-skyre). Blood Orange is 14g protein and 12g carbs, 130cal. I prefer Oikos, but Siggi's is a good way to throw in variety

    May Sleevers...where are you?

Hello. Is anyone already in the May Sleevers FB group. The links provided don't seem to want to work for me, or the group is already set to private. My surgery date is next Monday 5/4, and I could really use like-minded advice/support. The only person I have who's had WLS is a coworker who had RNY done ten years ago. Having the company of others going through the same thing at roughly the same time would be great.

    Sleep

Hope you're sleeping comfortably. I don't have a recliner to crash on, so I ordered a foam wedge on Amazon. Wish I found this thread before then and saved me some money--I would've just rolled up a comforter after packing it with some pillows!

    Isopure drinks

I just picked up a bottle of passion fruit and a bottle of coconut. I got about 1/8th ... I lie, 1/10th of the way into passion fruit (if that) till I couldn't drink anymore. Capped it and since it's high in Protein and clear, and seems perfect for when I'm post op, I will give it another good ol' college try again tomorrow. I'm hoping coconut will taste better. Side note: I also picked up a canister of Unflavored Isopure and tried that with Water. It's got that same taste that I'm picking up from the passion fruit drink that I do not like (a bit "plasticy"), but I'm going to try and make the best of it since I can't take it back. Maybe I'll add some orange extract or vanilla extract to give it a diff flavor w/o adding sugar...

Overnight bag? What did you pack?

Maxi dress. That's a great suggestion!

"Drop and give me 10 more!"

That's 3 out of 3 on the liquid diet so far, so that's what I'll do. I started today: Protein shakes, broths, and ... it sucks, I can't lie. I will stick with it though, I know I need too. p.s. Prunes lol! I might have to throw some of those little bad larrys in as an exception to help me along.

The BIG Book on the Gastric Sleeve!

Didn't mind the narrators on either: "The BIG Book on Bariatric Surgery" or "The BIG Book on the Gastric Sleeve"????????????????????????

"Drop and give me 10 more!"

7lb in 5? Good on ya, that is awesome!! Thanks Micdruss, I can definitely do that. Doc has me on a 1-day liquid diet, which is wicked light compared to what I've been reading for everyone else (average of 1-2wks). I'm definitely starting early though, and will cross my fingers I can drop as much as you. Thanks again!
  14. Hello. I started my journey in October, just got my approval, and am scheduled for 5/4! My starting weight was 227, current is 215, and my surgeon wants me to loose another 10 (down to 205) in the next 3wks. I honestly don't know if I can do it. Gonna try, but wow... Besides no carbs and more cardio, anyone have any other suggestions? I'm borderline desperado here ????

    Possible sleep apnea?

It's good if you get diagnosed now, and I agree with the others that it will help with insurance approving you. My surgeon requested that I show 2 straight weeks compliance on my machine before surgery (which they'll verify via data on the SD card). To be honest, I was pretty pissed at first, as the machine costs soooo much, and was an unplanned expense that bit into my surgery budget. I'm a week in and I'm still not used to this thing attached to my face all night, but I don't wake up with headaches anymore which is great. If you end up with a machine, I hope it helps with your headaches too, and that your OSA improves as time goes by post-op.
