  1. Hi, Lauri in an RN as well, and turned 40 this year... (From MO/OK....But now live in Mexico/San Diego) my date is scheduled for June 8th... Excited, nervous and scared it won't work as somehow.... But here I am anyway!
  2. @lilee84... Thank you so much for your separate post "frequently asked questions" that really helped to calm my fears and answer some of my doubt's. I know most of who I talked to have struggled to lose weight but obit 20 maybe 30 pounds at the max....I could talk they did but understand my frustration. And inferring that I passivity wasn't a person who could handle a true diet didn't help, especially cause I fear it is true... But anyway, thanks liliee84
  3. Thanks for sending this info and pics of Florence Hospital. I'm scheduled to have my sleeve fine there on June 8th with Dr Camelo. Anyone used him before?
  4. I've not had my surgery yet, and it looks like it would be June possibly. How soon after surgery can you have salads? I love salads, especially in summer! So I'm going to miss them!
  5. That's been my worry, that is still have to fight the cravings, but when I eat more salads or veggie juice it helps cleans my pallet. This helps especially for summer. Thanks for sharing. I wasn't this to be a life change for me and my son, more activity and healthier diets! I realize my legacy to him right now is not good, sedentary with unhealthy diet...I don't want him to have to struggle like I did. I want to let him see and teach him how to be healthy now.
  6. What about juicing? Is that gen ok with full liquid diet? Wow, 6 mons but then itll taste that much better!!
  7. If you feel training can wait, just tell her you have surgery scheduled for this date.

    April/May sleevers!

Keep your drain opening clean and covered with gauze to keep it clean, but it should heal up ok, if it has a smell, looks red or draining green or yellow drainage have it looked at, as that could be a sign of infection. (just this nurses opinion, I haven't had that experience personally).
  9. Thanks for the reply, I only work 3 shifts a week too, but only 8hrs (pt) so it's a bit easier... Id off for my lap choley for only a week... Was pretty tender, but I'm thinking this should be similar.

    Come On Nurses, Let's Conference

Thanks ladawna, I was thinking 2 weeks, because for my lap choley I was only out a week! I may have to sneak a bottle in a drawer or just make the time to stop and drink... Remind myself with a watch alarm it something. Ha... Cause we are not allowed drinks on our computers or at the nurses desk. but I'll think of a way
  11. You . Hey, do you mind me asking his long you were of work? I'm an RN too... Also I'm a bit concerned about his I will stay hydrated while busy working. I'm planning on having having the sleeve done in TJ in late May. Thanks!

    April/May sleevers!

Hi Angela, how is it going? My Dr here in San Diego said my ins won't pay until I try and fail at 3 different diets (with documented proof) 6 mons each and then I'd also need to have a debilitating illness like high bp or diabetes. I want to lose weight before I get sick! So I'm going to have it done in Mexico. I'm worried I'm going to have trouble staying hydrated, especially since I'm a nurse and get a bit dehydrated when I work now!!! (We can't keep fluids with us) and frankly I'm s bit lazy about drinking all the water in suppose to. So how are you doing? I'm 40 5' 2". 229

. Hey Tiff, I'm thinking of going to the Oasis of Hope too in Tijuana, is that the peach colored building close to the beach in Tijuana? I've been near there I think. Also, is it or a hospital or clinic? Thanks!

    April/May sleevers!

I'm hoping to go end of May or June. I'm a bit worried about staying hydrated at work, I'm a nurse too, and get dehydrated now when I do 3 in a row!

    Come On Nurses, Let's Conference

Hi everyone, ladawna you asked my question!! I wasn't too know hide other nurses felt going back to work after VSG! I really funny wasn't you be off more than 2 weeks, but my boss says I have to be cleared to lift 59lbs before I can get back to work. How quickly did you all get back to work or feel like you could at least? Also, on another subject, we aren't allowed water at the nurses desk, only in the break room. How did you guys stay hydrated while working? I get dehydrated now in a normal day!
  16. Your baby girl is SO beautiful!!! Congratulations!!! I can totally understand your frustration and love MichiganChic's reply. Start small, one step at a time, first clear your house of any junk, then next week, maybe detox to cleanse your pallet. Then remember, you've done it, you've already accomplished a HUGE mountain of losing the weight in the first place. Don't beat yourself up, it's a mental thing. Once we have to deviate from "the path" it's SO hard to get back. You can do this, You will do this, I'm sure of it! Take one change at a time, a week at a time if this helps.
