Hi, in well aware that the sleeve sx will not be a quick or even close to easy fix, but when I read about stalls, and some of the struggles facing post op sleevers I'm discouraged before I start.. I know it won't be easy it'll be the hardest thing I've ever done, but after sacrificing to save to pay out of pocket for this surgery I'd like more of a guarantee that it'll work for me. That I can use it as a tool. I'm sorry, my surgery is scheduled for June 8th, and when I told a few friends today I got, "why don't you try..." Then when I explained I've tried those things and I want able to complete them so many things in the past I just want to do something different..... (I got the "oh yeah it's hard to lose weight" like I'm woosing out and "but you know you can still regain right? **yes i know**). Then I read some shares on here and winner if it's not that different, d/t we all still face the same obstacles I'm wondering if they are right. Should I try A, B, or C...(which i know i can kids 30-40 lbs but then if history repeats itself I will get discouraged and give up when I have a hundred to loose!!) I was hoping that this would force me to continue, to help me have a second chance. I just don't want to repeat the last 10 years of mini diets that produce a 25lb weight loss then stalls and that's it. Please tell me it's different! I know through God nothing is impossible... But then should I save my $$ and try to fight it again without the sx?

Struggles and stalls?!?!?
cmhueto replied to cmhueto's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@momfromjersey22, I was told we should not weigh ourselves for the first three months but just focus on following the diet and healing... Though I know I may not be able to wait that long. That way you aren't so disappointed when at first your weight stalls etc. It will happen! The weight will come off!! Your body may be in a bit of a shock, and broth usually has a lot of salt so.... There u go! U have given yourself a wonderful gift, it will happen. -
Travel/Support Buddies for Mexico Sleeve Surgery?

Hey I live here in TJ, my date is June 8 but I will still be off work... What agency or clinic/hospital are you going to? Depending on the agency you should have someone to help you. But you could also message me for anything too. I know what it feels like to be alone in a different country, it's definitely out of most of our comfort zones. *tip ask your cell phone company if they have a mexico plan. Some offer plans where you pay a fee then have a certain amount of texts or min. Otherwise you may not like your phone bill. Also, turn off your data when you cross into mexico, the clinic should have WiFi... You can also use an app like Skype or text plus for free text and calls over WiFi. Also we're so close to the USA that we have lots of us stores here, you'll see Walmart, home depot and of course lots of fast food places, so you might feel more at home than you think! -

@chrissyg... Awesome! Thank you, so nice to hear from someone who's gone there. So glad you had a good experience. I loved reading about it, it helps to know what to expect. I'm trying to go on pre op diet now, to get use to it, my surgery is not until June 8, but trying to help my body stop craving junk. Wish I was doing next week, but everything for a reason... -

I called them and left a message, they called back the same night within a couple of hours. I hadn't received the email they sent me so he answered all my questions over the phone. Also you can select the tab to apply, this will get an email response within a couple days for sure. Ramon is the one who called me back, making sure all my questions were answered and he pointed out how to apply. -

Long Term VSG Sleevers?

What type of foods are you eating now? Are the gas pains gone? TIA Honestly I didn't have much gas pains. I stayed on water only for 2 days post op though. It was my choice to do so. I didn't feel hungry and water worked for me. I have bloating issues but I have had them since way before I had my surgery. I am Hashimoto's Hypothyroid and bloating, constipation and other gut issues are a norm for me. As far as gas, I get it on occasion but feel it is due to my hypo. As for food.....I am slowly introducing solids to my diet but only at night. I have a protein shake for lunch and breakfast and some type of solid soft food at night at home that way if my body doesn't like it I am where I need to be to deal with it. Protein drinks are a huge staple for me. Getting enough protein is pertinent and with just 2 a day, I am getting 86 grams of protein. . hey Chrissy, just wondering how you are doing? I'm thinking if switching to this clinic since I can't find many reviews on the Dr I have now. How is it going now that u are a few weeks out? Im a bit nervous about being lonely, (only one not eating etc) regretting etc afterward, I hear that can happen, though I know in the long run its going to be great! It's going to be a whole new relationship with food and I so need that! -

Wow these great reviews is making me rethink my choice as well, I couldn't find much on my Dr, but all I did find was good, so it was making me a bit uneasy. I've already put paid $250 to hold my date, (June 8th) but they said that i could change my mind. -

Struggles and stalls?!?!?
cmhueto replied to cmhueto's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you thought about doing a pallet cleanse? Staking out 4-5 days, juicing and eating super healthy only, light salads, with some lean protein ect... This can help you stop craving it can greatly diminish the cravings of junk (high in fat and sugar) foods we all crave. Not sure if that will help. But my dear you are still down from pre-op at and you are seeing your mistakes so that's the first step!! Get support even if it's just spiritual, or emotional that's a start... You are worth it! -

Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
cmhueto replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been impatient too, my surgery is scheduled fur June 8 but then decided actually that's a good thing, it means I have 7 more weeks to get my body and head ready for this journey. So right now I'm trying to cleanse my pallet of craving all the junk, it's working so far, there more I eat healthy the less I crave junk. And actually lost 4 lbs last week! I'm calling it my pre-preop diet! and I know it's only going to help me (Mentally more than anything) in the long run. -

@@Lisa Perez...I came in 2011 too!!! (I've been here 4yrs) that's awesome!!! Have you gotten the sleeve or are you going to have it done? My sx date is 6/8. So nervous but ready to start a new chapter. In just trying to be super conscious of what goes into my body, and trying to reset my taste buds. So my body won't be on took in too much shock with all the changes that are coming. haven't received my pre op diet yet. -
Struggles and stalls?!?!?
cmhueto replied to cmhueto's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome, thank you guys... Obviously I had had a bad day of people who made me feel like I'm doing this because I can't handle dieting... I walked away feeling like I was defective; not as good as them. But you guys gave me the encouragement I needed. thank you guys... I am looking at this as my second chance to live healthy. Mostly I want to eat healthy, and be more active and teach my son the joy of those things... He's 6 and an only child and already I see him mimicking my mostly sedentary lifestyle, and the worst parts of my eating habits... Is not too late to change his habits... but it's got to start with me!!! -
