Since When Did Being Candid In Your Response Become Unsupportive?
4MRB4PHOTO replied to BookWorm's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ouch! I am sorry that was said to you by your Father. You could have always shouted back, "I'm sorry, I can't help it, I have the postman's DNA". -

No, it reinforces my faith that there is a higher power up there (as in towards the heavens, not the skirt.) -
For People Who Complain About Poster's Humorous Comments

OK, this is the RD version: Boy's creativity stifled. Abandons creativity, assimilates to the status quo. -
Some people here seem to take offense when people reply with silly or humorous comments in posts. I enjoy reading them (in fact it is rumored that I have posted a few myself ). Everything in life doesn't have to be a joke, but when you read about a "3 week stall" or someone having pissy-pants because they are the only one who ever had to follow a post WLS diet, etc. for the umpteenth-hundred time, some humor is well appreciated. People should encourage creativity, otherwise people become like this little boy: (It's a poem I like and why I encourage creativity) He always wanted to say things but no one understood. He always wanted to explain things but to no one cared. So he drew. Sometimes he would just draw and it wasn’t anything. He wanted to carve it in stone or write it in the sky. He would lie out on the grass and look up at the sky and it would be only him and the sky, and the things that needed saying. And it was after that, that he drew the picture. It was a beautiful picture. He kept it under the pillow and would let no one see it. He would look at it every night and think about it. And when it was dark, and his eyes were closed, he could still see it. It was all of him and he loved it. When he started school he brought it with him. Not to show anyone, but just to have like a friend. It was funny about school. He sat in a square brown desk, like all the other square brown desks, and he thought it should be red. And his room was a square brown room like all the other rooms. It was tight and close, and stiff. He hated to hold the pencil, and the chalk, with his arm stiff and his feet flat on the floor, stiff with a teacher watching and watching. And then he had to write a numbers. And they weren’t anything. They were worse than the letters which could be something if you put them together. The numbers were tight and square and he hated the whole thing. The teacher came and spoke to him. She told him to wear a tie like all the other boys. He said he didn’t like them and she said it didn’t matter. After that they drew. He drew all yellow and it was the way he felt about morning. And it was beautiful. The teacher came and smiled at him. “What’s this?” she said. “Why don’t you draw something like Ken’s drawing? Isn’t that beautiful?” It was all questions. After that his mother bought him a tie and he always drew aeroplanes and rocket ships like everyone else. And he threw the old picture away. And when he lay out alone looking at the sky it was big and blue. And all of everything, but he wasn’t any more. He was square inside and brown, and his hands were stiff, and he was like anyone else. And the thing inside him that needed saying didn’t need saying anymore. It has stopped pushing. It was crushed, stiff. Like everything else.

Are you keeping yourself well hydrated? I started to get occasionally a severe muscle cramp in my legs in the evening, I started to take recently some magnesium and potassium supplements and making sure I drink enough fluids; it seems to help.

At 6 Wks be going home for Christmas. They don't know! What can I eat to blend in?
4MRB4PHOTO replied to itstimealready's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doctors typically suggest a BRAT diet for diarrhea. Bananans, rice, applsauce, toast. I was going to suggest something along those lines too. Just eat what you can eat at that stage, if someone questions you, you can say your stomach is bothering you. If they still press for questions, just tell them you have explosive diarrhea, that will stop that subject dead in its tracks. -
I Fell Off The Wagon Big Time. Please Judge Me Harshly!

So, my take? I would bet that many, if not most, of us fall off the wagon at least once during our process but DUDE!! Hostess cupcakes? Little Debbies? Pop Tarts? Popcorn balls!?!?!? If you are going to fall, at least fall with something that is worth it. Cheesecake, homemade fudge brownies, great quality chocolate.... add some hookers and a bottle of "Jack" and I'm there! Bite your tongue! I find a Hostess Cupcake the greatest quality chocolate! Or chocolate like substance.... One should NEVER cheat with a foodlike product. All cheating should be done with REAL food in all it's fatty, sugary, creamy, gooey glory. "One should NEVER cheat with a foodlike product. All cheating should be done with REAL food in all it's fatty, sugary, creamy, gooey glory." That's exactly my thoughts with hookers too. -

It was more of a way of stopping more breast threads . I won't claim infallible knowledge, but I'm an eager end user and fan. This is a subject that shouldn't be correspondence taught, but should be "hands on" learning. -

How about a menu style answer pool that people can pick for their posts when they ask questions and don't like the respectfully given answers that are truthful but are not what they want to hear or they are looking for people to validate their incorrect actions. Such as: "Can I eat hard tacos 5 days after surgery". "I am in a pissy-pants mood because I am the only one who ever had to go on a pre or post WLS diet". "Can I drink 1/2 a bottle of JD 5 days after surgery as long as it is 15 minutes before or 30 minutes after eating my hard Tacos, and oh yeah, I'm in a pissy-pants mood too due to my post WLS diet". Choices can be: "You are doing everything opposite of what every surgeon ever said, you are right and they are all wrong". "Yes, Tacos and other hard foods are allowed 5 days post surgery" "We all love reading your pissy-pants rants and look forward to more of them in the future". -

Why do I envision someone in a rubber suit and a ball gag in their mouth requesting someone feed them Hostess snack cakes then making them yell at them. You are human. You don't need to be yelled at. You made a mistake. Get those sugary things out of the house if you can, otherwise if you have them there for others, maybe let them store it in a container away from the kitchen. It doesn't mean you can't treat yourself once in a while and in moderation, just maybe have something less decadent when you have your jones on for something sweet, like some fresh berries and maybe a dollop of fat free whipped topping on top. -
When did you start eating cherry tomatoes

Starting at the puree phase (2nd phase, post-op). I made a homemade Gazpacho Soup where I pureed all of the ingredients in a blender. -
How much weight lost in the first month After surgery?
4MRB4PHOTO replied to Joymarie333's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a weight loss journey not a weight loss race. Don't compare other people's losses to your own, everyone is different. People with more excess body weight can lose more, men typically lose faster than women, some people may be on certain meds that can affect weight loss, some people are exercise enthusiasts and eat less than they are supposed to, etc. Someone can develop "pound-is" envy over the numbers. Note: Your mileage may vary. -

That said, often times one will type out the response "The sky is blue" and the delicate reader will read it as "THE GD SKY IS BLUE!!!!! YOU ARE AN F'ING MORON!!!! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU ASK SUCH A STOOPID ASS QUESTION?!?!?", when really, the person who answered simply said "the sky is blue". You can tell a person who reads into something that is not there and interprets "the sky is blue" as the other things you wrote, "You aren't looking up towards the sky, you have your head in Uranus". -
Yes, just as long as you don't drink your melted ice cream liquid 15 minutes before or 30 minutes after.

"He said if the complete stranger next to you at the weight loss group starts questioning you about your private psych results you should tell them to mind their own business" (Alex Trebek): "That's correct for $1000. We also could have accepted as an answer: You must continue to work hard at resisting the urge to cause physical harm to nosey strangers". -
Raw beef? As long as it is with 100% USDA Grade A, lean, E.Coli, then I guess it is ok.

PRE-OP LIQUID DIET CHEATER
4MRB4PHOTO replied to Miss_Sleeve_Bound's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From your pretty avatar picture, you look like a human, not a robot. Humans make mistakes, we learn from them. Must you be on a full liquid diet this long or could a modified diet work to lose weight to give the surgeon more room to work, shrink your liver, prove to the surgeons you can lose weight, etc., with using a liquid diet the last week or two? That needs to be discussed with your surgeon & PCP. Speaking only for the VSG, which is what I had, most of the Ghrelin (hunger hormone) is gone with the ~75% of the stomach that is removed, but hunger will start to return after the honeymoon period post WLS is over. The surgery can't change bad eating habits, we need to. I have confidence you can too. Post surgery requires eating differently (although we can enjoy all foods (at the appropriate phases), just some less frequently and for all, in smaller quantities) making sure we get the proper nutrition, Protein and hydration, and exercise. If there are any issues why you turn to food to deal with stress, etc., you should address those because they may not go away after surgery. Congratulations on the effort you have been making so far! -
I thought it was, based upon some people provide very inaccurate information as facts, so I assumed those people have a "B.S. Degree". ....by that I mean a degree in "B.S.".
