Compared to a prostate exam, "They're Great!". (Unless someone enjoys prostate exams, then in that case I guess it would have to be what flavor protein shake)

Carbonated diet caffeine free drinks?!
4MRB4PHOTO replied to volsfan82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You won't stretch your stomach out from some carbonation, if there is that much pressure, it will exit as it always did, as a burp. Non-diet sodas on the other hand are empty calories plus all of those sugars the body has to deal with. It can also lead to other bad eating behaviors that got us into an excess body weight to begin with. Diet sodas are not exempt either, they have artificial sweeteners which some report as having an effect on insulin production and a laundry list of additives too that you need a degree in chemical engineering to understand. As you noted many contain caffeine, so you need to take that into your daily caffeine totals (or lack of). Water is still the best, but if you do have these diet, caffeine free, drinks, have them in moderation. My surgeon, head nurse of his dept., nutritionist all told me that diet, carbonated beverages will not stretch my stomach. Out of fairness, they also recommend drinking water instead. Follow your surgeon's and nutritionist's diet plans. -
OKCPirate, and everyone who served our great Nation, thank you for your service and happy Veteran's Day.

I am not a doctor, nor do I even play one on TV. Contact your surgeon's office, they know your medical history, your procedure and will recommend what OTC heartburn meds or if you need a PPI, amount and duration to take. Also, if you are taking any other prescription meds they will take that into effect. I hope you feel better very soon.

I have been rejected

I won't give this a "like this", I don't agree that you are a "monster" but I will give you a smile for you to keep your chin up and put a smile on your face. People wrote some very good recommendations and examples (maybe leave out the duct tape). There are many people out there who are lean, in shape, very attractive but who would qualify as a monster for the way they treat other people, have no empathy or compassion and are self centered, to name a few things. You are not a "monster", you have excess skin. Wear it like a battle scar, you lost 211 pounds! That is amazing. Congratulations. Try to have a great day, you have so much to be proud about. You lost all that weight, your health must have improved and you will live a longer, healthier and happier life now. -
If cooking involved a flamethrower, men would cook all the meals.

WebMD tips for eating less and portion control
4MRB4PHOTO replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Thank you for posting the links. Who da' thunk that blue plates could help with portion control. Maybe I should try camouflage color plates that match the colors and patterns of the snack I am eating? -
Try journaling your daily food, Protein, liquids, exercise and quantities of each? I need to get back to doing that, especially the measuring portion to remind me of a serving size. Don't get discouraged. You will lose the weight.

I'm craving some corn beef turnip and cabbage!
4MRB4PHOTO replied to sarahbethemails's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I don't know if you were just recently sleeved, but if so, you can eat foods again like those (in moderation) in only a few short weeks. For me, personally, I would only dream about a boiled dinner if I was having it with Halle berry. -

How about a huge sundae covered in butterscotch sauce, hot fudge, chocolate pieces, sprinkles, strawberries and fat free whipped topping? Just hold everything but the strawberries and FF whipped topping. -
I look good in this hat, no? I'm styling, looking very GQ. Do you think I lost too much weight?

Happy belated birthday. You look fantastic. Congratulations on your hard work.

Are you eventually able to eat anything?

I can eat everything but my wife's meatloaf. (Ba-dum, Tish. ) -
regrets.... "....Regrets, I've had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do , I saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course, each careful step along the highway And more, much more than this, I did it my way Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew And through it all, when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way...." I was just going to quote only 1 paragraph of the song "My Way", but the next paragraph with "When I bit off more than I can chew", was kind of funny when related to my weight problem.

Has anyone ever had someone.....
4MRB4PHOTO replied to glitterpockets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell her privately, that you love her and you know she loves you, but Mom, sometimes the things you say like (whatever she just said to bring you down) hurt me. Now if she has a shred of decency she will stop. If she continues to hurt you, then distance yourself a little from her, she'll get the message. I always liked this quote by Jack Nicholson. It isn't related to this, but it is funny. “my mother never saw the irony of calling me a "son of a bitch” ― Jack Nicholson -
Congratulations on your improved health. My A1C went from being barely diabetic to normal (mid to upper 4's) because of the weight loss. I second that "Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Many people in society unfortunately do not take responsibility for their own actions. Unfortunately this is happening more and more. I think I am going to sue my Father for my weight struggles, because he bought me an ice cream cone when I was 5 years old.

Question: Why do I get emoticon when I type "(b)?"

Since you are a man from Austrailia, you could say: KindaFamiliar=Fat down under That will definitely get some of the women's attention. -
A friends WLS post op diet plan is causing a great bit of a WHOA! for me!
4MRB4PHOTO replied to Stevehud's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I knew I could have accelerated the post WLS phases, but I rather err on the side of caution and follow my surgeon's recommendations; we are going to be using this stomach for many decades to come. It is only the difference of waiting a few extra weeks to eat those same foods.
